Hey thanks Rob! This would've been a cool scorescreen track alright. Unfortunately the Dennaton guys didn't feel it quite fitted in in the end, but I appreciate your reverb love! Have you seen my series where I deconstruct how Hotline Miami Theme was made? I go IN DEPTH on the reverbs in the Drums video, and more here on the synths: ruclips.net/video/fIWCG3EkFrU/видео.html
This would fit so well into a final chase scene, or into a rush one, but i also can imagine the Miami city burning while playing this, absolute synthwave perfection
Thanks Andy, I’m glad you feel it! Yeah it’s a shame, but I totally respect the Denis and Jonaton’s decision - I’d rather it not be in there at all than be in there but not feel right, if you get me?
Benny Smiles i completely agree. Your music should feel correct instead of just thrown in there. By the way, i have now mastered the level your song was featured in because of how much i love listening to it!
I’ve been listening to this on repeat on spotify for two days in a row, not even exaggerating. I love the winding buildup until the climax from 0:58 onwards! The only problem is it ends so fast 😅 I have bought both the HM 1 & 2 soundtracks + plus the remix EP but never heard this until a couple days ago. Occasionally the suggestions deliver certifiable bangers like this :)
Considering that HLM2 had a cut alternate ending that depended on Evan Wright's choices through his levels: speaking to biker, choosing to continue writing his book, maybe not entering rage mode, and playing Abyss - resulting in an alternate dialogue with the bums where he'd realize that 50 Blessings were behind the masked maniac hits on the Mafia, using it as an eventual pretence to start a nuclear war. This would've been a nice alternative track for the alternative ending credits (even being a bit of a double entendre - as this alternate "good" ending would never be canon as it depended on Jake surviving Withdrawal, and we know retroactively from Hot & Heavy in Hotline 1 that he didn't - therefore making the alternate ending the "bad ending" because it could never happen canonically) Alas Dennis and Jonatan made the choice to gut this alternative ending; probably as a full measure to prevent any Hotline Miami sequels. Of course we all know by now this track was submitted AFTER their early 2014 music submission deadline; and we don't know if this alternative ending had been cut by that point or not.
I know nothing about the music and the software which you used to produce the synth effects, But i know one thing that whoever played the drums or mixed them using software, just killed it. I have never heard such a clever use of drums before.
Alt ending where the Colombians overtake the Russian mob and the Russo-American Coalition isn’t shattered, but the Fans / Son still get fucked up somehow
Good work mate, but its a shame they didnt put it onto the game :( who knows if theyll use it next time, yeah? Maybe theyll even ask for you to do some new ones. Stay safe! :)
This fits so well as a scorescreen track! Both your hotline songs have songs really unique reverb that make them stand out

Thank you rob for teaching me the ways of the level creator 🙏💕

MarioGMan25 welcome to the pleasure dome!
Gift keeps on giving man
I am so sad that this never made it past beta. It deserved to be in the actual game.

Ha! Yes! That’s rad man. Confession, I never made it to the level. I just couldn’t do it.
@@BennySmilesMusic I may be two years late, but that is relatable as hell. The game is super hard 💀
This is probably the best song to come out of Hotline Miami.
love this track, especially the the part after 50 seconds
Thank you!

Damn, like stretch it out 1/3 speed?
@@BennySmilesMusic lol I normally listen to it 2-3 times in a row because it's so short. Just saying it's dope, thanks for making it!🤘

It's great!
Thanks for making man!
Wait I dont remember this song where was it
it was from the beta, it's nowhere to be seen in the final game
Correcto Noel! It never made it in - the Dennaton guys requested it initially, but in the end it just didn't quite fit in any of the levels.
Anyone knows what they are up to btw?
The Dennaton guys? Maybe making Hotline Miami 3...
Spot on Mr. Junior.
Might have fit well in the credits after the initial track that gets used to fade out
Aw man, yeah that would’ve been cool
Alt ending where the Colombians overtake the Russian mob and the Russo-American Coalition isn’t shattered, but the Fans / Son still get fucked up somehow
