I have an old Craftsman from around 2002. It has a Kohler engine. Runs great and doesn't use any oil. I've had to replace a lot of parts over the years on the rider itself, but the motor is still great.

Nice thing is with Briggs & Stratton a lot of the parts are interchangeable carburetors coils Staters starters, ect

My intek engine is still the original to my (I think) early 2000s Bolens. The bolens mower is beat to hell but the engine runs good. What do you do to your engines. Haha.

They are good engines its just people that dont check oil on a regular basis and dont take care of them talk the most shit about them

@@rannz8 I agree, that's the first thing i was thinking and then run the mower and engine into the ground.I have a Murray rider with that type of engine going on year two. It starts everytime cutting three yards a week.

Kohler engines are blowing up left and right. Lowe’s had a great deal on Kohler Courage mower returns with blown engine. As low as 10 hours on then.

It sounds healthy, now. Hopefully we don't get a video in a week of you picking up Intek pieces from your yard.

these Briggs Intek the Kohler Courage twin cam, and the new kohler engines are all junk as far as single cylinders. the best reliable singles are the old Briggs flathead, and the Kohler Command as well as the Kawasaki FC series. if the cost and time is worth it its to get a Harbor Freight Predator 703cc vertical shaft engine its a V twin but will fit but muffler fabrication and wiring be a must. as they have the bigger alternator to handle machines with electric pto clutches.

I've never had much trouble with those Intek engines. There are only two problems I've noticed: the dipstick can vibrate loose and result in engine oil being flung everywhere, or that plastic oil drain tube starts leaking/comes unglued/gets hit by something and then it's game over.
I don't think I've seen one of those with separate AC and DC outputs from the charging system. I'm guessing the AC is for the lights, since there is no specific need for DC and leaving out the rectifier makes it a little cheaper to build.

You sell any carbs off those riding mowers? Got one I need a carb for, don't want a China copy and don't wanna drop $100 in one either.

The chinese ones are great! i buy chinese carbs for my commercial mowers and trimmers and they run great no adjustment needed

The only way I would put a Briggs in anything is if the Briggs was free. Kawasaki for this boy.
