I thought the pinkish dress was a bit meh, but when the designer came and did the changes, it transformed into a BEAUTIFUL dress... That's watching the magic of a good designer right before our eyes.

    • @blueice011
      @blueice011 18 дней назад

It's been 2 years, but I've just seen the episode and can't agree more. Nothing's perfect about that dress, sadly. I'm sure it cost a lot to be done as a bespoke gown, but the sketch and the actual dress were way too different. Even the bride needed confirmation from her friend, she wasn't sure although acting kindly for the camera and the designer. Reminder not to go for something you haven't seen. At least the aspects of it - like, pattern and quality of the lace that was going to be used, actual color of the fabric, similar model that will give you an idea how that particular cut/shape looks on your body. It's not like Mark didn't have any trumpet or mermaid style gowns for her to try on before she settles on particular shape, volume and placement on the silhouette. There are so many lovely gowns she could have chosen from. She wasn't asking for something so special that she couldn't find in their selection.

White only came into fashion for wedding dresses when Queen Victoria chose to wear one to wed Prince Albert in 1840 (although Mary, Queen of Scots wore white in 1559, and Roman brides wore white tunics to symbolize purity). Many cultures don’t wear white. The Chinese choose red, while East Indians go for all colors, in elaborate dress.

I wish her and her husband all the best! 💗 As for the bride that came in for her dress fitting, I am shocked that the assistant broke the zipper and didn’t take ownership of that mistake; which made the bride think that it was her fault! I would be gutted if that happened to me and I feel awful for the bride. That assistant should have apologized profusely! smh.

    • @HeronCoyote1234

If this was a custom made (and fitted) gown, unless the bride gained ten pounds, the fault is partly in whoever measured and sewed the dress, and the woman trying to zip it up. Since it looked like she’d never pulled up a zipper before (she was forcing it unnecessarily, imo), I wonder if that whole sequence was for the show (drama and all).

Years ago, my mother, who was in her early 80s at the time, was cleaning her closet. She took down the box with her wedding gown and satin, open toed slippers that she got to match the dress. My parents married in 1949, and everyone in town who heard about her wedding gown turned out to see that dress. My mother chose an "ice blue" gown with long sleeves, a button back, and then a scooped neck with some type of netting (? not sure what to call it) around the top. She also had a matching veil. The gown was satin---popular at the time. The church was so crowded that the photographer had trouble getting into the church to take photos!!! My mother felt bad that no one in the family wanted her "ice blue" gown----everyone thought she was "compromised" because she didn't wear white. The dress sat there in that original box, and I decided to find a new home for that gown. My mother ended up donating the gown and shoes to Brides With/For Breast Cancer. The gown went into their collection that traveled around the country. We were happy that the dress was put to use for a wonderful cause. My mother didn't spend a fortune on that dress that these brides do today, but she looked lovely in that "ice blue" gown. It was a hard sell for my grandmother and the family to accept that my mother wasn't going to wear white, but my mother was determined that THAT dress was the one for her. She never looked back.

Respecting the second, I feel you sis ☹️ I know exactly what is breaking a zipper, I cried because I couldn't believe it, I'm slim and still I did that in a blouse. But what made me surprised was watching the bride had worn Zunino custom dresses before, the designer knew her size perfectly. He offered adjustments and the pink dress was great but the shock in the girl was so evident.
Edit: I rewatch the entire thing and I can't believe the assistant was actually the one that broke the dress and had the nerve to let the bride feel bad and embarrassed for that 🤯

The assistant wasn't holding the bottom of the zipper to keep the zipper straight, which allowed the zipper to "hump up." Even a loose fitting garment can do that, so you have to hold the zipper down on the bottom for the zipper to zip up. Yes, the dress was snug, but it wasn't *that* snug. No zipper will go past a hump, but the assistant tried to force it and broke it. Even a jeans zipper will balk if you don't make sure it's straight when you try to zip it up. I learned that some time before 2nd grade.

The zipper on my wedding gown broke when I had my portrait taken (2 months before the wedding). The dresser just got to enthusiastic about the zipper. Thankfully it was replaced in time for the wedding.

My daughter's bustle busted right before her father/daughter dance at her reception. She ended up having to carry the train during the dance then went to the bathroom afterwards with a few friends who tried to fix it. They were able to do so but during the process of it busting it tore off the two bottom buttons on her dress which in turn put a tiny tear in her dress where the bustle was supposed to be. It can be fixed thankfully.

That "custom" dress didn't fit. It was cut way too small! There was no skirt and no shape. Who measured? Who cut the pattern and who OK ed this as finished? Mr Zunino certainly didn't touch it! I think he was appalled when he saw it and very quickly destroyed the evidence of this mistake by cutting out the back.

Regarding the first bride, I agree with the mother that thr corset in the back looks more like lingerie, another one with wider ties would have looked much more fitting, but other than that that's the first pnina dress I actually like 😂 and it fitted the bride perfectly.
Also the second dress was so beautiful after the desinger came in and put it together! :)

I was so uncomfortable when he just grabbed and held onto her but for so long. That’s totally unnecessary and inappropriate! It would be one thing to touch the part of the dress for a moment but he just held her but for no reason! Watching him work his magic and create a dress in the moment was incredible but that weirded me out. Also That woman yanked on the zipper and didn’t even bring out her entire dress or have someone helping her old it while trying to zip. What kind of place are they running?! Red flags everywhere

I find that if you lose under 80 lbs and you're still young-ish, there's less loose skin. She also seems to have lost it in a good amount of time and probably also did strength training. If you lose more, you might end up with some loose skin, or if you do it too fast. I lost almost 120 lbs in my late 20s, but it took me almost 2 years, and my skin isn't bad at all. I did weight lifting along with cardio and my arms and legs look good, but I couldn't avoid a flabby lower belly pouch. I did try to focus on the areas more prone to loose skin, like the inner thighs, tricep area, and belly.

I don't know why they don't design these wedding dresses with some GIVE in them. If this dress won't zip up, she is definitely not going to be able to SIT in it. Looking at a side view, it is too tight and there needs to be an adjustment. At 4:41 you can see that it is TOO TIGHT across the hips, as it pulls at the front of the crotch as well as under the rear. Very unflattering, and she is a slender woman. The zipper is very long, and the fabric has zero give. In my opinion, this should have been a SIDE ZIP and the seams should have been sewn with a seam allowance and with a stretch stitch. I like the idea of a cocktail dress with the tulle layer over it, but I don't understand the final product. Did they ditch the cocktail dress idea? Anyway, the bride is feels gorgeous and happy, that's what counts I guess.

The general comments on here are that the fitter broke the zip, however, I think it is actually that the dress is way too small and that the workmanship is shoddy in the first place as you can see that the lining/zip area has completely come unstitched, the dress also is nothing like the sketch, maybe they changed it afterward.
