The best thing about these videos is that they're not remixes done in a different style - he is accurately playing the game music, with appropriate instruments, without trying to add personal flourishes that make it NOT sound like the game. It kinda disappoints me that most of the orchestral releases of video game music have to rewrite the music.
I think what's also great is that the recordings are "dry" and the phrasing has been NAILED. It's one of the things that makes "carbon copies" of video game music so tough to pull off even if they're lifted directly from the source. Stand out is the bass and when the violins play in unison.
No, the worst part ia that too many people make generic boring metal covers of songs that were not composed as such. Even nobuo's metal band only covered certain songs and most of it is fan service for insecure teens
@ cowclops whats embarrassing is seeing on RUclips whats supposedly official music from Squaresoft covered by professionalorchestration company that does the original song and sound more like improvisation or a cover. Sure, be creative but dont ruin the song. ...and what do they do? They add notes that arent there. Its like bruh...its not a cover at that point. Its a whole nother song that you try to pretend like it sounds the same. And their cover is either too damn slow and the whole band sound out of synchronous with one another. And they try to cover up the disconnect by adding filler notes. Its like hearing a train wreck...but in SLOW motion. Doesnt even sound great or even GOOD. Just barely passable as possibly something you recognize from hearing someone sing "Happy birthday" but totally off tune and nobody sings the same melody or words at the same time. Just does the fans of the franchise a disservice.
One memory comes to my mind. Drinking that clean water and healing up my party in that beautiful lake in the middle of that phantom forest . Again the music just touches the heart and soul. Thank you !!!!!!’
Yes! When I replayed I would always leave it running when I first got to the phantom forest and I’d crank it up and clean. The time before RUclips when we could listen to music as we pleased! It’s so much easier now!

I've heard orchestrated versions of many of your selections but none come close to preserving the integrity of the tracks like your arrangements do. Thanks! Most of the instruments are mine. The flute here is a renaissance alto recorder, which I'm borrowing from my local early music group. The rest in this video are from my own personal collection.
I don't know if your continuo captures the original on this one as much as it does for some of your other covers (Gau, Children Running etc.).....it's hard to emulate a full string chorus as just one man....still, this was very well played and pleasant to listen to. +1 like, and a sub.
