Glad Scott Stap is back and rocking it again. Nice to hear the old familiar voice singing the sound tracks of my childhood and other people's as well again.
Valeu Creed.
I hope rock fans realize now what they had in this band, two great songwriters, fantastic chemistry...elite guitarist. Hopefully they come back and reunite with a new album. Rock today is stretching itself...
I can remember my best friend, rest in peace my soul sista, and myself sat on her couch way back when this came out with a large bottle of Ernest and Julio Gallo white zifiendel and jamming to this entire album singing to the tops of our lungs!!!! WHAT A MOMENT!!!❤️❤️❤️🤘
Love this performance: Scott's voice really comes through (he's one of those you immediately know it's them singing with just one note), Mark's background vocals are great, and the rest of the band accompanies them well. 'My Own Prison' the album remains a big favorite of mine to this day, almost 20 years after its release. I was a big fan of them during their 90s heyday, so, admittedly, my opinion is biased, but I hate that Creed always got jokes made about them being a crappy band. They always rocked hard in concert (saw them about 5 times, if I recall correctly) and their songwriting was pretty good. Scott's off-stage 'stuff' tended to overshadow the music, which was rather unfair.
I am still pissed at Creed. I had bought two tickets for their 2001 concert. It was to be my niece's first concert. Well, I guess Scott decided it was important to drink and drive in Florida and get in a wreck.. The little bitch hurt his back, so the tour was cancelled. Fine. When I went to get my money refunded, they kept almost sixty dollars, saying it was non-refundable because of the store where I bought the damn tickets. Crazy.

Mark Tremonti is a very underrated vocalist. Check out his solo stuff, some great metal songwriting and guitar work with fantastic vocals. Even live he is in pitch nearly all the time.
I don't care what anyone says about Creed, this is one of the best songs ever. I am not religious in any respect, but I don't knock them for being religious. This song is a banger.
I too don't understand the Creed haters.....this band changed rock music in the late 90s. Almost as much as Nirvana, Alice n Chains, Pearl Jam, etc, changed music into grunge rock. I love Creed and have seen them 6 times in concert and only once they let me down. Only because their sound tech could not get the sound right. Scott kept pointing to him asking for changes. Still overall a very good live band.
Scott's a good dude man sure he has issues but who doesn't and the man is trying. He's alive were alive it's good aside from the wars, hate, disease and well you get my point.

Lyrics:
Court is in session, a verdict is in
No appeal on the docket today just my own sin
The walls cold and pale, the cage made of steel
Screams fill the room, alone I drop and kneel
Silence now the sound, my breath the only motion around
Demons cluttering around, my face showing no emotion
Shackled by my sentence, expecting no return
Here there is no penance, my skin begins to burn
So I held my head up high
Hiding hate that burns inside
Which only fuels their selfish pride
(And I said, ohh) All held captive out from the sun
A sun that shines on only some
We the meek are all in one
I hear a thunder in the distance, see a vision of a cross
I feel the pain that was given on that sad day of loss
A lion roars in the darkness, only he holds the key
A light to free me from my burden and grant me life eternally
Should have been dead on a Sunday morning, banging my head
No time for mourning
Ain't got no time
Should have been dead on a Sunday morning, banging my head
No time for mourning
Ain't got no time
So I held my head up high
Hiding hate that burns inside
Which only fuels their selfish pride
(And I said, ohh) All held captive out from the sun
A sun that shines on only some
We the meek are all in one
I cry out to God, seeking only His decision
Gabriel stand and confirms, I've created my own prison
I cry out to God, seeking only His decision
Gabriel stand and confirms, I've created my own prison
So I held my head up high
Hiding hate that burns inside

+Travis Wilkes did your mom have any kids that survived?
why do people have to be so inconsiderate. mind your own business travis. if you don't have anything nice to say then shut your mouth
+Greg Whaley I bet Travis is being sarcastic-lol
Glad Scott Stap is back and rocking it again. Nice to hear the old familiar voice singing the sound tracks of my childhood and other people's as well again.
Valeu Creed.
Marcaram uma geração inteira!!!! Época boa!
That voice was legendary!!!
Seen them on there My own Prison Tour, hands down one of the best rock bands ever at the time and place!
Totally respect the memories
Glad to hear there back together again underrated group
I like this acoustic stripped back version a hell alot more than original.
anthony lochore Same here
Like the acoustic stripped versions from any song and artist.♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
I hope rock fans realize now what they had in this band, two great songwriters, fantastic chemistry...elite guitarist. Hopefully they come back and reunite with a new album. Rock today is stretching itself...
Man you're absolutely right
@@kennethcolby6960 I usually am I am always on the side of the Wighteous
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle wight power
I second that man.
Perfection in everyway....I loved this song first time I ever heard it!!!!!!!!!
***** no problem
I am still pissed at Creed.
I had bought two tickets for their 2001 concert. It was to be my niece's first concert. Well, I guess Scott decided it was important to drink and drive in Florida and get in a wreck.. The little bitch hurt his back, so the tour was cancelled. Fine.
When I went to get my money refunded, they kept almost sixty dollars, saying it was non-refundable because of the store where I bought the damn tickets. Crazy.
Lisa Foos damn that sucks; i remember when he had that wreck
Susan Simpson Yeah. It did. I really like their music and I have a slight crush on the lead guitarist (eye-candy).
Lisa Foos if scott stapp wasnt so arrogant he would be fine asf oh fuck it he is anyway but mark tramanti is who you are speaking of and oh yes
One of the greatest of all time I still enjoy their music I had their privilege to see him in concert in Phoenix and they were just simply stunning
!! Ficou massa!! Segunda voz impecável!
always loved this band, unplugged is yet another reason to.
Scott sounds incredible. Luv it.
Court is in session
A verdict is in
No appeal on the docket today
Just my own sin
The walls are cold and pale
The cage made of steel
Screams fill the room
Alone I drop and kneel
Silence now the sound
My breath the only motion around
Demons cluttering around
My face showing no emotion
Shackled by my sentence
Expecting no return
Here there is no penance
My skin begins to burn
[Chorus: Scott Stapp, (Mark Tremoti)]
And I said ohhhhhhh
(So I held my head up high)
(Hiding hate that burns inside)
(Which only fuels their selfish pride)
And I said ohhhhhhh
(All held captive, out from the sun)
(A sun that shines on only some)
(We the meek are all in one)
I hear a thunder in the distance
See a vision of a cross
I feel the pain that was given
On that sad day of loss
A lion roars in the darkness
Only he holds the key
A light to free me from my burden
And grant me life eternally
[Pre-Chorus]
Should have been dead
On a Sunday morning
Banging my head
No time for mourning
Ain't got no time
Should have been dead
On a Sunday morning
Banging my head
No time for mourning
Ain't got no time
The correct line is "Should have been DEAD," not 'there'
It has been a long long time since I heard these guys. Very impressed by this vid, and enjoying. Thanks for sharing!
awesome version and what voices.. talented
one of the best performances i've ever heard in my life?
I how I pray they start doing it again! Miss them!
Perfect!!
You are so real; no electronic fake disturbance, wow!
❤️🇵🇬
Cligeam Almeida Trindade
The harmony is amazing.
Essa voz... um rugir de leão! Maravilhosa!
Wow I did not know the Tremonti had such a great voice. I am stunned, I love Creed and I am glad that they got back together.
check out Tremonti, his solo band, he does the vocals
+colby shane Thanks, I'll do just that. =)
Mark Tremonti is a very underrated vocalist. Check out his solo stuff, some great metal songwriting and guitar work with fantastic vocals. Even live he is in pitch nearly all the time.
Timliu92 yea I checked him out a while back - not bad.
Sad he lost his mind!!
December 1st day, 2019 🤘🤘🤘 still loving the music. 💞
I don't care what anyone says about Creed, this is one of the best songs ever. I am not religious in any respect, but I don't knock them for being religious. This song is a banger.
Temazoooo!!!
Creed + acoustic = Epic win
I too don't understand the Creed haters.....this band changed rock music in the late 90s. Almost as much as Nirvana, Alice n Chains, Pearl Jam, etc, changed music into grunge rock. I love Creed and have seen them 6 times in concert and only once they let me down. Only because their sound tech could not get the sound right. Scott kept pointing to him asking for changes. Still overall a very good live band.
Agreed
totally agreed
I think a lot of the haters are Stapp haters and just assume the whole band sucks.
Scott's a good dude man sure he has issues but who doesn't and the man is trying. He's alive were alive it's good aside from the wars, hate, disease and well you get my point.
Josh Pledger don't ever put creed in the same category as nirvana or alice in chains!! Creed's first album wasn't bad tho
Excellent job!! Still jamming to Creed to this day! #LOVECREED
Creed my LEGEND!!I listen to all your music from Guam!👍❤❤❤😍😍😍
