This kind of subject is super important to me, since I've been struggling with an Eating disorder for 4 years now and it's doing more damage in my climbing than i thought it would...thankyou for informing about RED-S !!!
Much appreciation for this video, I dieted real hard thinking that my climbing will improve, which it did, but I ended up feeling awful, then I put the muscle back on that I should have had in the first place finally realizing I needed to eat more, Glad to see someone is spreading the message
Boxers want to be under the weight limit when they step on the scale, not when they have to perform in the ring (they regain up to tens of pounds prior to the match proper). That kind of a dramatic water weight cut would definitely not improve anyone's climbing performance.
@@OderiConditioning Hmm well you wouldn't in this case regain weight, but could be normal weight offseason and during training. They'd still suffer from some energy deficit probably, but with shorter duration. Might not be comparable or make sense :)
Good talk! Important topic! I can't help but think, though, that the viewer would feel more included if you directed you body language and eyes toward the camera, just a tinge more... Or maybe I'm overthinking it? :D

So would a hard cut like in boxing better than prolonged deficiency? I believe it also had some disadvantages like stress on some organs like kidneys?
