Thanks for doing this , especially so fast. 🤘🤘It's one of my favorites. Glad you liked it. Simone wrote the lyrics, bassist Rob van der Loo the music. Keyboardist Coen Janssen's daughter is part of the children's choir. Oh no, not more doggy chemical warfare... 🤣🤣
Love the lyrics in this song (night terrors and the fight to avoid the dark side and find peace of mind), as well as the musicianship. I actually had a thought (scared the heck out of me) that Epica is now what NW used to be; awesome metal, insightful, deep lyrics, great vocals, the whole package. Great reaction, stay safe, God Bless, keep rocking.
Yes I have to agree with you on that Alan. 100%. They are awesome, they also have a lot better live shows. I mean the whole band have such stage presence, where as with NW it’s only Floor.
@@frank1963 I have to say, the few live show videos I have seen from the new NW lineup leave me cold. I really think Marko was more to NW than people thought. Floor is Floor, but now she has little to no backup on stage. When they do the older songs Marko was a part of, the magic is gone.
@@alancarter41 again I totally agree with you. Marco is a great loss for NW. I really want that the band uses the vocal capabilities from Jukka on the next album. But to be honest I don’t have “High Hopes “
Epica’s guitar sound is unmatched in my view. This was recorded during lockdown so must have been a treat for the kids in the choir to be involved in something like that. So many great songs from that Omega Alive stream but I am yet to see anyone react to Cry For the Moon from that show. Best version ever of that song and something of a celebration of how far they’ve come in 20 years since the song was first written… ruclips.net/video/z8DWFOk5EwE/видео.html Note, only problem with the video is that this song runs into the next, Beyond the Matrix so it cuts off at the end. I can’t find an Omega Alive version of the two songs together.
Also watch the official music video for this song off camera. Simone is wearing some pretty cool dresses in it. 🙂 From the same album "Abyss of Time". I think I like it a bit more than "The Skeleton Key".
Maybe you should also invest in gas masks with build in microphones. 😂 This is from the same livestream concert show during COVID as the one you saw, Kingdom of Heaven Part III. This was the best livestream concert ever. I was at their 20th anniversary concert last year, and the girls from the children choir were all standing around me after finishing their part in this song, and enjoyed the rest of the concert. See you in the livestream, it will be 21:00 hours over here, which is 9 pm for you Americans that don’t understand a 24 hour clock. 😉😂
What I sometimes wonder how it is possible that Epica was never asked for a song in lord of the rings or game of thrones when you hear these kind of songs haha!
This is one of my favorite Epica songs, it's in the top 10 for me! It's called "The Obsessive Devotion" and they also played it in this same show. My last name (Bazán) is very Spanish, there is no problem if you mispronounce it. 😆 link: ruclips.net/video/KBcEOf2AqeA/видео.html
You have already looked at almost all older symphonic metal bands, would offer another, Edenbridge (EST 1998) from Austria. Edenbridge - The Grand Design (Live in Beijing 2007) Unfortunately, the sound and the picture are slightly shifted on all the Beijing concert videos
anything from the Omega Alive concert is amazing -
the children's choir gives a special atmosphere to this song. love it
Every Epica song you hear will make you love them more! Thanks for the reaction! 🤘🏻
More Épica please!!

AWESOME!
Simone simmons is one of the best singers we've ever heard.
Chrissi, you're right .... that's an amazing bass tone.
