  • Out with the OLD...and in with the NEW!
    Autumn's old fluxcore Hobart welder finally gets a well-earned retirement, and the Harbor Freight OmniPro 220 takes it's place. This model is a multiprocess Stick/MIG/TIG, 120v/240V. In this video, we unbox the new welder, test out the wirefeed welding, then it gets put to work!

    There's a Vulcan 220 coupon valid until December of 2020 for 869.00. It's not my business what you paid but the regular price is 999.00. They will refund the difference if you paid that. There is also another coupon for Vulcan accessories that's 20% off that never expires. I use the never expire accessory one to get the 10lb electrodes for a little over 20.00. If you are not using the stick it still helps on contact tips for the mig gun. I bought mine in early August and really like it.

      The Vulcan accessory 20% code is

    I have been welding for over 35 years and just got rid of a miller full production tig welder and mig the same to monster welders and went with what you did because its a hobby and not doing it for a living no more. I bought a spool gun and tig gun to but not sure with the touch tig as far as a scratch start could be just me but i bought a foot pedal today, i love the size of this unit and what it can do. I all so bought the biggest cart from harbor freight and i can tell you it is very nice and can carry everything for welding all. I had a cracked truck rim and used the aluminum spool gun wow just great because could not find that size rim. So all i can say is extremely happy with vulcan welder and it has that new car smell hahaha, ps i don't like the way my mig cone comes off but will modifie if have to, have not had time to investigate that yet.

    Got this one a few weeks ago myself. Been wanting to get into welding since...forever...due to a lot of projects around the farm that would be much cheaper to fix than replace. Still working on getting a decent bead, but I'm sure that's more due to lack of practice since my buddy (who has years of experience) was able to lay dimes immediately. Back to the shop I go!

      @@WrenchChill it will take some time to figure out the settings, but I did a few welds and it was significantly easier, faster and better looking welds. I had virtually no issues with the stick sticking to the metal.
      I am no overly impressed with the preset menu, it is kinda confusing and not intuitive. For 1/8" rod, only presets are for 10gauge, 3/16", 1/4" and 5/16" metal thickness. I wish that it had come with a cover for the spool gun outlet and for the gas line input, to keep dust and stuff out for those of us who are not using those features.

    • @WrenchChill
      @WrenchChill  3 года назад +1

      Good to know, thank you! Were you using it on 120v or 240v?
      In the mig process, I also found that the auto-set feature wouldn't let me override their "max" or "min" material thickness. Kind of a bummer, but I was able to manually adjust the amps as needed to get around the preset ⚡

    • @bryce340v8
