    What do you think of Solrock?

    • @thealientree3821

      Rock Throw, Cosmic Power

    • @austinmartinez8541
      @austinmartinez8541 Год назад +2

      It's definitely interesting. I guess it could also really depend on what hidden power you get for certain Pokémon as well and it's probably not a bad secret power Pokémon either.

    • @evanclark6160
      @evanclark6160 Год назад +2

      @@austinmartinez8541 if you get hp fighting, ground, or even bug or flying that might help you muscle through a lot of unfavorable matchups, esp since those are all physical in gen 3. and normal coverage from secret power or return is never too bad on a physical attacker. but solrock will still get outstatted eventually, even accounting for the player's advantage in ev's and badge boost

      @@evanclark6160 high BP HP rock would be good too, since rock throw is relatively weak and inaccurate

      @samuelcastillo5246 Год назад +1

      to be honest, it's not that bad, could be better, but you can use it as a physical attacker, and even though it's not that fast, Solrock can hit quite hard

    I actually like Lunatone more, especially with it having access to Ice Beam, which I talk to mine as early as I could. I can definitely see you Lunatone as the one you would do next considering they are counterparts

    I think this was a pretty fair assessment of Solrock: decent from the time you can get it, until around the last 3rd of the game. You may have said something about this before, but with all the mini pokemon assessments over the past few months, I think a revised encounter tierlist would be a good capstone to your quest for Emerald mastery.

    I used to not have a lot of opinions about Solrock but when I got it as my first shiny in GO, I used it as my follow pokemon and started to like it a lot! I used it in a lot of battles in GO.
    I still have to used it in the main games tho

    Solrock can be somewhat decent into Tate and Liza. If you utilize the move tutor explosion, you will most likely KO two of their first Pokemon.

    In my childhood run of Ruby, my favourite, most iconic team; the one I endlessly leveled and beat the Elite Four over and over and played with against my friends, included a Solrock.
    I never even glanced at guides or stat distributions back then, so I didn't even know that teaching it stuff like Psychic, Flamethrower, or Solar Beam was a bad idea with that terrible Special Attack stat (probably from all the EVs and overleveling). But I used it all the time, and found great success with it, and years and years later, I finally figured out why....
    How many pokemon in Gen 3 can get Rock Slide by level up? Magcargo, Nosepass, Camerupt, and Solrock. Which of those pokemon get STAB on Rock Slide? Magcargo (at level 48...), Nosepass, and Solrock. Solrock has base 95 Attack and Nosepass has base.......45.
    Solrock is the only one with reliable access to STAB Rock Slide in Gen 3. And as it turns out, STAB Rock Slide is just really REALLY good.

      You're using two move slots for a move type with not great coverage (grass) on a weaker special attack. I think Overheat is definitely a better option as it's got better coverage, higher base power and only needs one turn to use. It's better to stick with rock slide as your main damaging move.
