Thank you for the history lesson. Beautiful area and beautiful RUclips channel. So sorry for what your communities are going through now. Continued heartfelt prayers.
WOW!!!!!!! Congratulation, for this wonderful video. A lifetime document of railroad action. A really good story about railway right of way, switching an industry and history of the area. Really a good job. Hope i can see more like this kind video. An inspiration. Many thanks.
Nice video and I liked the story behind Ashville. The drone shots were beautiful! Keep up the good work. Btw, Southern rail fan sent me and I`m glad he did.👍
Thank you so much! The Drone is definitely a cool item! Thank you for tuning in to this video, tell Kyle thank you! I hope to see your comments on many more videos to come, welcome to the channel!
I suppose it was appropriate that the last trip was made in the rain and murky weather. Glad to see you were able to go out and capture the historic moment. One looks back at that time when it was built and they didn't have the luxury of bulldozers and cranes. When you mentioned where the chips went I remembered your story of the Canton Mill closing and now the circle of Doom got larger. The way the logs are laid out for the chipper the circle is almost like that of a railroad Roundhouse. The cars were loaded right to the brim and by this late stage of the game 90% of those cars we're owned by leasing firms. Some great shots along the Route and at the chip plants too bad the train is now history. A very nice historical and photographic memory to what was once a major transportation system
Great video! Love that scenery! Two questions, how often do trains run on this route now? Also, have you heard if there is any progress on the NCDOT passenger rail service to Asheville plan?
Thank you! As of now, there is just one scheduled local train 5 days a week. There is plans to add the two manifest trains back on the route daily, I haven't heard anything else on the amtrak deal.
Wished they would not mothball this route and use it for detour trains in case of floods and whatnot this route won’t be the same and they should definitely reopen the Sakura grade route and give it some tlc it desperately needs
Sad thing i railfan ashville we have 5 ns engine most they carry is 7 cart and blue ridge sorhern well oparate hensersonville and 2 blue ridge southerns remain its not looking good
Great video, but sad to see another railroad pull out. It looks like railroading may be a past-time for Western North Carolina. Maybe some rich billionaire will come in buy the railroad and establish a Short Line Railroad. With the big paper mill shutting down in Canton, more jobs being lost to China, I pray that Western North Carolina industry will make a major return. And if we get the right President in office, there will be another Industrial explosion with jobs returning to America, one last time, before the return of Christ Jesus. Thanks again, excellent video.
Note that this was NOT the last train, but the train is planned to be done this coming week.

Nice catch of P87. It sad that local will be missed. I like the Dash 9 thoroughbred leading.
Thank you. It will sorely be missed by folks in this area. That dash 9 definitely makes it better!!
@@clinchfieldns It will be going away this coming week, yes.
Thanks for sharing. Hopefully the Asheville rail yard will survive the downgrading of train service in western NC
Great video and nice catch
Thank you!
