As one American opera singer said in her reaction, Marco very accurately fell into the image of the phantom of the opera. At the same time, she did not even know that the group was Finnish (but noticed Tarja's accent). As a matter of fact, all reactors begin to enjoy Tarja (unique rock-opera diva), and end up in shock from Marco.

I'll give you some good news: for the most part, reactions to Nightwish aren't blocked for copyright reasons. I don't think they can be monetized by reactors instead, which is normal.
A few years ago, the reactions to "The Poet And The Pendulum" were blocked quite often, but I understood that because a rapper had used parts of the song as samples. In the last year I have not encountered this situation.
So you have the opportunity to become an expert in Nightwish :)
The situation is different in the case of the TV show Beste Zangers from the Netherlands, in which Floor participated in 2019. I recently encountered situations of blocked reactions at newer reactors, and all uploads with English subtitles made by fans have been eliminated consistently.
Suggestions for the following reactions to Nightwish? Absolutely everything your heart desires :) from any era of the band. True fans will support you, whatever you choose. Maybe this way you will fall in love with Nightwish and then you will stay with us permanently .. :))

in my opinion markos portrayal of the phantom is one of my favorites. the phantom is the bad guy,.. and he sounds like the bad guy. dont get me wrong those broadway singers are talented , but it always bugged me that they sounded like a goody two shoes...clean voces not agressive in any shape or form...
i first knew the musical version,.. and then encountered this version and the first thought was,.. yeah thats how its supposed to be...

About Ghost Love Score, most of the people have never heard Tarja sing it elsewhere but in End of an Era. And I'm afraid her voice was wasted in the end of that concert (it was the last song beofre the encore) and it has a very loud background choir. But then there are decent videos her singing GLS in Romania and Toronto 2004, with the whispering background choir (same version Floor sings) and without the flu. Never heard a reaction to those performances either. So, as a live GLS, howabout either of those smaller concerts?

"Left". She was fired. Of course she had already told that she would leave after next album, but guys ended up to humiliate her with an open letter. That is one thing I will never understand. Such an immature and cruel act from guys. I totally understand that they had come to a point, where they couldn't go on together, and that there had been disagreements, even some fighting between them for years before this, but I will never understand why they published that open letter. They just wanted to hurt her because she was going to leave them. Anyway, it was about 15 years, 6 month and 12 days ago (or something like that), and they are very different people now.

Because Tuomas is an immature baby who basically yelled “you can’t quit, I’m firing you!”. He seems misogynistic… Look at how he treated and that while she was lying in the hospital.
Well, the band saw Tarja as a problem to their success and profit: it comes clear in Marko's book quotes. She was suggesting cutting off continents from the worls tours, and cutting off small gigs, because her voice and health couldn't do it all: that's what she says. And as Anette had similar problems, and Tarja moved from band bus to hotel accommodation to get rest, the problem seems very real. It pissed off the guys again when Tarja said in the next world tour she wouldn't tour but max two weeks at a time. Considering that in some world tours NW had been on the road over a month without a pause, guys thought it can't continue, they better get rid of Tarja now than wait to the next album.

Some of the ways to help you if video is blocked by video image.
1. the size of the video should not exceed 30 seconds, so cut the video into 20-30 second fragments and make anti-copyright inserts between them.
2. use any video filters, for example, you can make the video translucent or mirror image, in extreme cases, you can close the video altogether, but leave the sound.

You are right. Anna is very analytic while still playful, expertly mimicking & conveying her honest emotional reaction. She rewinds to the key places rather than interrupt a lot.
The very best vocal coach reactors have one or two of those features, it's rare to have them all. Ceci Dover and Fairy Voice Mother and Christee Bovee come close though, it is amazing to see how much one can learn from watching many expert reactions to one masterpiece.

Nightwish has really placed Finland on the musical map.. It really is one of the best groups around. And thanks for adding English subtitles. You mentioned how expressive Tarja's eyes are and you will similar notice how expressive Diana's are so it's a good call to wait till you have full access to Wicked Games and can also react to the video. There is a mystical element to the scenery and her dress which enhance the experience a lot. I can see you have uploaded 10 reaction videos and already have more than 3 milion followers. Re "pioneer" I think Tarja and Sabine Edelsbacher of Edenbridge were the first two sopranos in symphonic metal. They more or less create the sound I think.
Yes, Wikipedia basically says that Tarja and nightwish (Since they were forced to play that sound because it’s Tarja’s voice I give the credit to her, LOL) created in operatic symphonic metal. Of course, symphonic metal was before nightwish’s time, but they brought in the operatic segment.

You are right, Tarja and Floor are both Goddess, they both have great stage presence and beautiful voices, picking one usually comes down to their style, I enjoy both ladies but tend to favor Floor because she sings with rasp, fry and growl. Tuomas is the genius who writes the music for who ever is the singer when he is writing. For me, Floor just gives you more to work with. When Annette was the singer he wrote songs that fir her voice and she performed them very well, but there were songs she just wasn't able to perform. Love your dissecting and explaining of the songs. enjoy your reactions, keep them coming

I know people already recommended the Floor Jansen/Henk Poort version to you. Henk Poort played the phantom in the Dutch edition of Phantom of the Opera and his performance in this musical really inspired Floor. She admitted she actually fangirled over him a little bit. I was lucky enough to see them perform this song live too, during one of the shows of Floor's Dutch solo tour in January 2020. Quite an experience... Take care, hei hei xx

I watched this video again, and you can see it is solely about the vocalists. It focusses only on Tarja and Marko. The rest of the band is there of course but this one is the song of voices.

Excellent reaction once again. I really enjoy not only your knowledge and explanation but the reactions as well.
At around 7:20, you comment on music fusion and the first thought in my mind was Amaranthe. They do music fusion (on the metal sound) that has the metal purists and elitists in tears (of anger) and the general, not only metal fans, in joy. Having in mind the Nordic connection there as well, I think you should explore their 3 vocalists and how they blend, mash, fight and/or contribute to each other in their various songs (the arrangements help a lot as well).
The only problem with them is that two of the vocalists left the band and were replaced, expertly I might add, by two others that are more than sufficiently different from them in their music styles. I usually recommend their first music video as it is perfectly made to be a gateway to Amranthe's music - 'Hunger', or, at the very least, the softer 'Amaranthine'. Unfortunately, you would miss the other two vocalists, with 'Viral' - a good exposure to them, or the heavier 'Boom1' focused on the two of them particularly.
PS - I am a linguist in nature and enjoy listening to various languages and the smallest details peak my interests in many a times. I have had great joy in this Finnish content, not to mention the specialised terms you constantly use (some directly in English, some sieving into your language from English as it happens in my native language - Bulgarian).
My random question is - I noticed the word Peru on your RUclips interface, guessing by it it means something in the lines of 'Cancel'. Does it allign or match with the country Peru in Finnish language or is the country with a completely different name? I do know that Finnish is quite a peculiar and unique in its history, having no other European languages close to its roots. But I also know that Turkey, for example, and the animal turkey have an interestingly intertwined translations in different laguages.

It warms my heart to know you find my mother language interesting! Yes, "peru" means "cancel" in English. It is also true that the spelling of the country "Peru" is exactly the same. 🤣 Finnish language is pretty peculiar in nature and is part of finno-ugric language families.

For example, you noted some of the folk elements in a few metal songs. Do you know of Eluveitie? If not, their song 'Rebirth' showcases them at their best but it is quite heavy. Otherwise, 'The Call of the Mountains' is a less aggressive song to ease you in.

Very good of you of not wanting to choose between Tarja and Floor. I too like them both. The only singer that didn't really fit NW IMHO was Annette. Her voice was not made for these songs. I heard her in a different song that did fit her voice, and I liked it.
I have already suggested this song in the Beste Zangers version by Floor in duet with Henk Poort (opera singer), I actually prefer that version. So hopefully no ©issues.

I love that you reacted to them, and these songs, just found you, but super glad, you are awesome, and cool, and love your commentary, what you add in different ways to others, super curious about your thoughts on Marko overall, also being Finnish. If you’ve seen my previous comments, I love Marko, his pure talent, even after the messed up vocal surgery, he is still a boss, and to me, one of the best singers, after that happened. Let alone before, go look up kings of the north, especially early stuff. He’s the same, just to me, slightly different, but no better. I’d he ever deigned to talk to me, he’s as perfect as ever, can’t be better, the difference is so small, and so good/inspirational, it’s not noticeable, he’s a total legend, NK matter when, or after anything.

As for Phantom... Floor and henk poort @ beste zangers did i t as well. As for copyright: maybe you try and get into contact with @the charismatic voice tehy seem very experienced with copyright. Plus they have one video uploaded couple months ago where she explains quite a bit.

Lovely reaction and observations, as usual. I wonder how you'd like 'Sleeping Sun' from the same End of an Era concert (if you are not already familiar with it). Also 'The Islander' From Tampere 2015. Marko is front and center for that song and may give you opportunity to admire his vocals a bit more before turning attention back to the ladies 🔥🔥🔥

It was a travesty of the earlier version! I really don't like what they did to the song in 2005. Also the remake music video is with the same style as End of an Era performance. It was so beautifully sung before! Big fan of the original version of the song, there is a wonderfull quality "remastered" video of the Raumanmeri 2003 concert.
I do like both the 1999 music video and the 2005 music videos what comes to visuals. The older is more amateurish and smaller budget, but it has its appeals, and mysticism - yeah, the bathtub. The 2005 music video utilized Tarja's "valkyr" petname, and made the band as medieval warriors in the battle field and Tarja as the valkyr resurrecting the dead ones: I think the the band makes wonderful medieval warriors, but unfortunately I am not fan of the changed style of singing.

Mikko: koko konsertti on ihan sikahyvä! Walking in the Air -kappaleeseen sopii tällainen pehmeä, tunnelmallinen tulkinta. Kuuntelin vuodelta 2017 Tarjan esityksen samasta laulusta ja mun mielestä se ei ollut onnistunut: Tarja lisäsi siihen ooppemaisia koristeita, ja ne ei musta oikein sovi tähän kappaleeseen. Ehkä olen väärässä, Tarja on tosi taiteellinen ihminen ja minä en ymmärrä taiteesta mitään.

Anna, is there a name associated with this particular style of music? Being from the US, I am not familiar with the instrumentation. I saw Phantom in Toronto and Louisville, Kentucky. Toronto speaks for itself while Louisville has some of the best productions you'll find as well.

Hello Anna! I just happend to bump into this reaction of yours, and I imidiatly liked your style and your way of commenting AND showing what you mean and talk about (my knowledge of Finnish is sadly non-existent). As you even came up with a Billie Holiday quotation, I could not help wanting to wish for your reaction to a young singer, who almost started out by studying Billie and other of those great classic jazz-stars, at an very early age. She even has covered 3 songs so far, from B.H.`s songs. I don`t know of course, what your thoughts are about B.H`music, but I surely would like to hear what you would have to say about this young artist. Her name is Angelina Jordan, she`s nowegian, (now living in the US for the last 2-3 years). As you understand she has sprung from the "old school" jazz tradition, but she has throug the years put herself and her voice into almost all kind of music, not so much opera, punk or RAP though. At least not yet :-) She did an incredible amazing version of Queen`s "Bohamian Raphsody" as she auditioned for the AGT - Champions in january 2020.

@@annavaskelainen Thank YOU Anna. When it comes to jazz, I`m quite optimistic that Angelina should be one for you to react to. As I mentioned, she was brought up listening to her grandmothers jazz records. And at about age 4, she exploited every possibility their i-pad gave her to enjoy all the great classic jazz stars. She even got hold of legendary blues artist Screaming Jay Hawkins, and his "I Put A Spell On You", wich she covered when sha was 9 in a mindblowing performance. In studio with proper jazz/blues musicians, viewed almost 8,5 mill. times by now. Would be interesting to hear what your views on that would be.
