I am a huge fan of Holland.
They have played some of the best football I’ve ever seen, and also participated in some truly iconic matches over the years.
Games with Brazil in 94, & 98, were truly classics that were extremely poorly officiated. Oranje now have taken it to Brazil in 2010 and 2014.

Harsh on Sneijder because he leads his team to a treble and then went to the WC finals and lost to an amazing Spain team by a last-minute goal. He was so unlucky and mega underrated
Brazil and Holland in World Cup, great matches, ever.
The thing is it's an annual award (dumb format but it is what it is), and after the world cup Sneijder was absolutely awful for 4 months, so him winning that award would've felt a bit weird.
Just watched this match and then watched the inside story of the 2010 Final. I have to say this was the best world cup EVER.... Goosebumps all over.
Worst World Cup. Only Spain and Netherlands had a golden generation of players. Brazil had their worst ever. France worst since the 70's. Italy the worst since the 1960's. England and Portugal declining while Argentina struggled with Maradona as their coach. Add there was freezing cold, dark and grey in a country with not as strong football cultur as Germany or Brazil.

Also it was an amazing WC because it was also the last and pretty much only time that alot of African countries with historically amazing INDIVIDUAL players actually had enough of those to assemble semi-lethal NATIONAL squads and compete.
Robben, Sneijder, Alves, Lució, Maicon all did amazing job.

It was even more pog to be in the stadium. I screamed my throat raw when the Dutch scored. And was having a wonderful time Vuvuzela’ing along with the rest of the crowd. I even got some of the stadium grass after the World Cup was over

My favorite Netherland, Robben, Sneijder, Van Persie, and Van Der Vaart. When Iniesta had this goal in the final, I cried and shut the TV down. My father and I are fans of the Netherland and France, they are the only two teams that I fall in tears to. Now, France has already got the world cup. Hope Netherland has the chance to get it in the near future.
I'm Dutch and I cried as well. Especially given the fact that the Netherlands should've gotten a very clear corner after a free kick. The spanish goal fell from that unjustified goal kick, so very painful. Please support the Netherlands during this upcoming Euro 2021 campaign again 😁

Greatest shock, for Brazilian out of WC.. missing last WC appears for Pastor KAKA.
Kaka is past his prime here. Spent the entire season injured with Madrid and was much less explosive then he was with a.c Milan. Age wise he was in his prime but the injuries really slowed him down.Despite losing his pace and physical attribute his creativity still helped the team, 3 assist in 4 games.

Best World Cup for me. I was 11 years old, I slept on the couch the entire month and watched the whole Tournament. I think it was school holidays or I ditched for the month, not sure how I was allowed to ditch it that was the case. I want to go back to this time even though Italy was absolutely garbage.

Both these tournaments 20 years apart seemed to have a lot of negative and defensive football, I mean Spain won the whole 2010 tournament with only 8 goals and a poor Argentinian side made it to the 1990 final only scoring 5 goals.

I rmember watching these games at 4 in the morning. Awesome summer that year i was 17 at the time.
I, as a Brazilian, do not remember another game that made me cry but this one.
How what came four years later made me wrong, lol. Maybe because in this game I was 13, and those 4 years changed me a lot.

As a great as a win this was for Holland I feel that both their 94 and 98 squads were stronger than this team and the Brazilian teams that beat them those years were much better than the 2010 version.
Clearly better, the difference is that in 94 and 98 there were more strong national teams compared to 2010.
That 98 Brazil team was a mess, they conceived 10 goals in that wc, this team was more balanced despite being way worse on paper.

For the non-dutch people, at 1:40:58 he basically says "who knows maybe we'll take that world cup home", as a dutch supporter, that still hurts to hear
My three horses managed to make it 1st 2nd and 3rd. I was hoping the Dutch would have won it all too. And I cheered for the Spanish because I really loved watching Xavi and Iniesta and Diego Forlan for the same reason. Ironically I am still mad at his teammate all these years later. Had to have a horse in the race after my home nation crashed out spectacularly in the group stage.

Le Brésil mérité mieux, dommage que melo prend un rouge, et qu'un défenseur csc comme contre la Belgique en 2018, ces 5 deniers coupe du monde le Brésil est toujours la meilleur equipe mais malheureusement ils maque a chaque fois depuis 2002 de réussite, de chance , de tactiques et rigueur défensive (il sont souvent trop joueurs même quand ils mènent ils ferme pas le jeux au contraire et ça leurs joue des tours comme au qatar 2022)😢

Brazil had no business losing this match. They should have scored at least three times in the first half alone. Kaka was injured and as a result he wasted some chances. But Brazil should have never lost this match

This game seemed a war. You saw Robinho faced the dutch player in the early of game. Felipe Melo stepped on Robben. The brazilian squad didn't have creativity while the dutch squad had Robben and Sneijder.
