- Hey, I'm Tamara... it's so nice to meet you & thank you so much for watching!
I've been wanting to get a kitten for sooo long, and now that I have a little extra time on my hands in quarantine, I decided it's finally time!
I loved watching "bringing home my new kitten" or just generally "new kitten" vlogs and imagine how crazy fun the whole experience is, and also it really helped me prepare for my kitten. I know a little more about what to buy and what to expect. So I really wanted to vlog this whole experience for other people to benefit from and also as a cute little memory vlog of baby Stormy to look back on, hope you enjoy!

do not need to bathe cats regularly, only when it’s really really needed (if the cat cannot clean himself). and make sure to play with him as much as you can before baths to drain out his energy and make him more relaxed and less hyperactive !!
Can't emphasis this enough 👆 if your cat's not bathing themselves well enough then something is wrong with them..
She had to bathe her kitten due to the older owners were heavy smokers.
and they was very dirty.
I bathe my kitten sometime cause she can smell really bad
You should actually bathe a kitten at least once a week because of their dirt. They don’t have the same intuition as a cat.

Not necessary to bath kitty very stressful and they don’t like water. They usually clean themselves good.

Love this video he’s so cute and tiny he reminds me of my black kitten Anna she was smaller than him I bottle feed her and her brother from when they were 3 weeks old as there mam died I gave her two brothers away when they were 8 weeks and I was keeping Anna a week later she started walking funny and I told my mam and she was said we’ll watch her over the next few days this was on Sunday then she was getting worse so we brought her to the vets on Wednesday and she had meningitis I didn’t know what it was at the time so I thought she’d be fine the vets said they put her on a drip and keep her in my mam called the next morning and they said she was looking a little better and ate a bit as she hadn’t really eaten much t he past few days but later that evening she had a seizure and passed I was so excited to come home from school that day as I got her new toys and taught she would be able to come home but when I got home my mam told me she had passed I was heartbroken I didn’t leave my room didn’t eat or anything on Friday I went for a walk and I heard a meow from the ditch I listened for a bit and realised it was a kitten I called her for a while and she finally came out she was black and double the size of Anna I named her adela I brought her to the vets and she healthy my vets think s he was dumped the day before I found her as she was very clean and not skinny my vet thinks she around 3 months old I love her so much but I miss Anna so much she’s helped me so much as when she sees me crying she will come and give me a cuddle 🥰 I’ve been looking for a good kitten food for her what brand is your wet food as I couldn’t tell from the video thanks rip Anna 26/9/21-2/12/21💔😭

get a collar that breaks, if the kitten gets caught on something from jumping up high, it's designed to break instead of choke and kill the kitten, unfortunately the collar you have is for puppies and small dogs.

hii, how’s the Freija litter? i’ve seen it in one of my local shops and it was really affordable so i’m considering testing it out!
Cats do not like water, unless he has fleas, or rolled in dirt, you don’t need to bath him. Ask the Vet what food to feed him. Usually kitten formula, some soft food and a little bit of dry food. My cat had Hills Science Diet.
Eeek im getting two next month and i'm so excited XD Im also more of a dog person haha but i have been obsessed with kittens the past couple of months and finally found the perfect pair!

Congratulations Tamara. Consider also adopting a senior feline to keep your kitten company.
most senior cats don't want to be around kittens as kittens are very playful and older cats probably just want to relax most of the time .
Yeah no that’s really not a good idea, it’s not going to make any of the cats happy since their energy levels and needs are so different (I’ve done this and our elderly cat got very unhappy)
There are thing u can put to the heat they seat in open and u attach them to it
We have to do some cleaning up and kitten proof what we can and get as wires and things can be dangerous I'm gettingna kitten play pen to keep in sleeps or when we leave the house and doing harns and leash to
Don't worry about doing the baby voice - all cats are babies anyway and certainly don't want the big noise. Humans have known this for several millennia.

It really depends on each cat, but cats are creatures of habit, so if you always go to work they’ll get used to it, but if you work from home all the time, they’re likely to develop some separation anxiety... but I’d say go for it and don’t worry, the cat will adjust

I don’t recommend getting a cat collar with a bell, it’s right next to their head so the noise will be annoying.
Yes that's true, I switched it out for a breakaway collar without a bell soon after this video❤️

British shorthair, I needed to wash him because he smelled like smoke (his previous owners were heavy smokers) and he was super dirty cause the previous owners just weren't the most hygnic
@@TamaraMehhook I understand, he needed a good cleaning 😁 My brit came from a breeder so he smelled nice. And he still does 😻He is the love of my life ❤️ Even more so than my kids 😂 and they know it!
Just use little carabiner clips to keep the zippers on the carrier closed and cat proof.

Honestly I didn’t have a breed in mind when I was looking, I just happened to see this little guy and fall in love with him, Ragdolls are pretty adorable tho

Thanks 🥰 Around 300 euros, I got lucky with the price because the owners had no idea what they were selling, their cat had babies and they wanted to sell them asap
Cats like to sleep high up - if you had put his pet bed somewhere elevated then he would have used it but that's why cat scratching trees exist.

i would switch the bowls for ceramic og glass beacuse they have sentive whiskers and plastic is not good for the wishkers i learn this from a cat behaviorist but your cat is super cute

I had to rush my cat to the vet new years eve then I put her down jan 13th and then today my grandma sue died so so far 2023 hadn't been nice for me

Cats will become who you raise them to be, so if you are strict about no cats on the couch by let's say often spraying the cat with water everytime it gets on the couch, it'll learn that it can't be on the couch. But generally, no, my cat never scratched anything

I got it from a place called Action here in the Netherlands, but it wasn't practical cause he figured out how to get out of it so I got a new one like a week later

Cats actually shouldn't have bells on their collars because it irritates their years because of how strong their hearing is. I actually learned this from a vet video

I needed to always be able to hear where he is and find him at first for his own safety, but a while later I switched to a no bell collar cause he became a pro and didn't need constant supervision

Buying a cat when there are so many needing rescue. Bad form.
I couldn't find any kittens to adopt in my city, only adult cats, and my mom was super scared of getting an adult cat so she demanded a baby that grows up here and she slowly gets used to rather than a big cat. I would've loved to adopt tho, just wasn't possible for my situation
That's rude. We looked for an adult or kitten to adopt. We had to rule out an adult cat as all the rescue places said no kids. All the rescues had needs such as FIV, medical issues or were super sensitive so needed a quiet home etc. No kittens came up for ages so we got one privately
Adopting isn’t Easy at all. I recently had to just give up and buy one.
Don’t use your hands for play time…. Not going to be fun when they grow up
why you don't read before getting a kitten???? cats need always a partner....poor baby...8 weeks are too small....12 weeks are okay.....and NEVER USE A COLLAR
