You are amazing! Probably can get a golden doodle anywhere in New York but I’m coming to you! I know Piper had her last litter but I’m interested in a medium golden doodle around the red color and tight curled coat. How do I put a deposit down for a litter that will be available March-October 2025. Thanks
Previously she has said they go in order of who first placed deposit. So if you were #2 in line, you'd list your 2 favorite puppies in case #1 was chosen be the first family to place deposit.
Our golden retriever had a small litter of 3 puppies. Something that happened was they were kind of large which made it harder to come out but also the puppies didn't nurse from all nipples so mama developed mastitis in the ones that became engorged. So keep an eye out for that!
That's why my havanese breeder has 24hr care, their son does night shift, so that all pups nurse, bedding changed frequently, all nurse stations are milked, etc. All in house, no outside help. Small pups can decline very fast if not monitored, ie hypoglycemia, hypothermia, etc.
@@dottyk1637 we monitor ours 24 hrs a day as well, taking shifts, until they can get around well on their own. With this particular litter the puppies refused to nurse off of the last two nipples.
So sad about Charlie, but now I have my fingers crossed that maybe I'll be ready for a second by the time her retirement litter comes around so Nadine can have a real sibling!
When I picked my German shepherd it wasn't everybody at once I had 1st pick. It was a mix of long and short-haired. I went thinking I wanted a confident very playful short-haired male. I was watching them all play 1 caught my eye and she walked climbed on my lap, everytime I put her off she climbed back on again except when I put on my sons lap, there was 4 9f us sat on the floor 2 being the breeders but she only settled for me and my son. So I ended up with long-haired female who was confident and playful. Nearly 3years later she's best dog I've had and exactly what I wanted and needed to fit in with our family and other dog.
@@DoodlesofNC Delta my son is obsessed with jurrasic Park and jurrasic world and we know a lot of people with animals called blue so he went for Delta. It definitely fit when she was teething felt like a velociraptor 🤣🤣 the breeder picked our leonberger ( Yogi after Yogi bear our 1st leonberger was Honey bear after winnie the poohs obsession with Honey) from speaking to us for what had probably been hours as with covid restrictions couldn't go and we decided to let her from the 1s she had picked out as to which would fit our family and other dogs best and we got exactly the dog we wanted who is also best friends with my son until I'm making homemade treats as both are ruled by their stomachs 🤣🤣

At that time we had Nannie’s for our children that were willing to help with the dogs. Then Covid happened and my husband was home full time. That is when it was really starting to grow!
@@DoodlesofNC oh ok! I work from home and this will be our first go at this. Our children are older so that helps. We have friends that breed as well. They have been very helpful and reassuring this is very possible.

Hey Erin. This is in same category as above question but how long after making the mush do you typically leave it with pups? Since it has goats milk I didn’t know if you could leave it for hours or if that was ok?
Hello! Normally go home times for our area and AKC is 8 weeks. Plus all of our vets support that. We would definitely delay if they weren’t eating solid kibble or I felt like something was off.

We do it in order of deposit. So families know before they commit to the litter what spot they are. Like your 2/4 for girls. And I give them papers with their personalities and physical attributes to them and then 50 min in I collect all the papers and then announce who got who!
Just wondering why you move the puppies to the garage? Do they get too loud to be in the house? I’m thinking about breeding and just wondering if I can have them in my living room the whole time?
It isn’t because of loudness, they need more room. Their nursery’s in the garage are double the size, and then I can let them run around and do our training. Do you like seeing them run around?!
@@DoodlesofNC I love your videos. Your pups are adorable and your house/set up is fantastic! I live in Ontario Canada and I’m a stay at home mom, but my kids are getting older so I’m looking for a new challenge. I’ve always loved dogs so breeding them seems interesting. My mom use to breed cocker spaniels when I was young and I loved helping out. Would you do it all over again if you could? Thanks
Absolutely I would do it again. I wish I had started earlier. It’s about building your reputation. There will always be breeders it’s hard to set your self apart. Ask me anything! I do consultations!
How durable are those balls? My Dads English bulldog is obsessed with balls but destroys them super fast. It’s been a struggle to find one that will not be easily destroyed and he’s gone through many lol
Out of curiosity, your puppies go home at 8 weeks and other breeders send their puppies home at 10 weeks, how did you decide a going home date? It was delightful to watch the puppies attempting to feed themselves the goats milk mash. They were so eager to try something new. Everybody took to the GM mash so quickly. You mentioned Bella wanted some GM mash, also. Does GM upset her fully grown tummy?
Hello! Amazing questions! Goats milk would not upset Bella’s stomach. But she might eat to much of it. Then we might have some loose stool. No fun for anyone. Every breeder I know sends their puppies home at 8 weeks. I think some other breeders of smaller types of puppies keep them longer. We decided based on AKC whelping recommendations and consulting our vet!
Wow some unusual news you shared. Hopefully the other mom is due at the same time and that puppy can be with that litter. Or even better maybe two dogs can share mothering responsibilities.
@@DoodlesofNC no never, just makes sense to see if she has a large litter maybe u can split the puppies up between them both. Or give the mom who only has one puppy two of the other litter so they all get more milk and attention.
You can't be a dog breeder and not be organized and a cleaner by nature. Yes, nice home. Friend of mine raises golden doodles. They're always sold months in advance for big $.
Ohwww i so love watching your video’s! It makes me smile :) And I learn allot of them ;) I have a question. I can now also become a host family for an australian labradoodle in the netherlands. And I love to do that. But when I saw the contract I was wondering if some things are correct. For example if after 1 year the dog is not Good enough for making puppies I have to pay the full price for the puppy. Then I am thinking I sign a contract And do everything they ask me. Also missing my dog 2 times when she gets puppies And I pay insurance thats also important for them. But if after one year they think the dog is not good enough to Make puppies its not my fault. Should I not pay less then? Because I did my best And I signed the contract? I mean offcourse I understand that I have to pay something then. But not full price right? Or am I wrong? I hope you can give me good advice :)
That’s a great question! If for some reason a dog does it pass the health testing that we do. We spay them and the dog is theirs for their reduced Guardian amount. I don’t think they should make you pay for a dog since it was not your choice to breed them.
I dont know why people get mad at rehoming fees, look at how much work goes into raising pups not to mention how much work goes into taking care of the parents too
I wish all breeders would be like you.

@@DoodlesofNC we do a Neopar vaccine at 4 weeks and use shoe covers if we have to wear shoes in the puppy room
Thank you for the details.
Thanks
@@DoodlesofNC and yes I love watching them run around!! 🥰
Absolutely I would do it again. I wish I had started earlier. It’s about building your reputation. There will always be breeders it’s hard to set your self apart. Ask me anything! I do consultations!
@@DoodlesofNC Amazing! Thanks!
Two questions:
1. At what age do the puppies go home?
2. What is the pvc pipe thing around the pen?
PS - We love your videos!
Ken! We love you too!
PVC is a called a pig rail. It keeps them from laying on their puppies.
They go home at 8 weeks.
There are so many mixed breeds in the shelters ...
If we didn’t have families for our puppies we wouldn’t breed them. Thank you for your thoughts
Are all your puppies standard goldendoodles? Or are the mini-goldendoodles? Looking for a standard goldendoodle.
Minis and mediums!
Are you a dog breeder I thought adopt don’t shop but hey it’s up to you
We are a dog breeder. Very responsible one.
How durable are those balls? My Dads English bulldog is obsessed with balls but destroys them super fast. It’s been a struggle to find one that will not be easily destroyed and he’s gone through many lol
They are only good for the puppies! My moms tear them up too!
@@DoodlesofNC Ok thanks
❤️❤️
@@DoodlesofNC makes perfect sense!
😍😍😍
How many litters do you breed before you retire them
4 if all goes well
Wow some unusual news you shared. Hopefully the other mom is due at the same time and that puppy can be with that litter. Or even better maybe two dogs can share mothering responsibilities.
I do have one other dog! Great idea!!! Have you delt with this before also?
@@DoodlesofNC no never, just makes sense to see if she has a large litter maybe u can split the puppies up between them both. Or give the mom who only has one puppy two of the other litter so they all get more milk and attention.
@@DoodlesofNC Erin ask your vet if my idea is a good one or not. Perhaps the vet will know of other success stories.
Yes we definitely plan to bring it up with the vet!
@@DoodlesofNC please let us know what the vet says.
What do you do if more than one family want the same puppy?
It goes by order of deposit - so for example the third family gives me 3 choices . I hope that helps!
What age are the puppies when they meet the families?
4-5 weeks old
What if several people want same puppy??
It goes by order of deposits!
How do you deal with ppl wanting to same puppy
They go in order of deposit! What would you look for in a puppy?
@@DoodlesofNC one that is as laid back as possible
You can't be a dog breeder and not be organized and a cleaner by nature. Yes, nice home. Friend of mine raises golden doodles. They're always sold months in advance for big $.
Glad your friend is having success!!!
How old are the females when they have their last litter??
Usually 3
Bowls near as big as themselves
I know right! But they’re heavy and can’t be turned over 😉

Ohwww i so love watching your video’s! It makes me smile :) And I learn allot of them ;)
I have a question.
Don't you need to warm up the milk?
It is a good tip to warm the milk if they are taking it by bottle. But we haven’t found any difficulty at the 4 week mark. Do you breed also?
Are they allowed to pick their puppy by watching your videos before puppy picking day?
Yes they can.
So messy but oh so cute💖💖💖💖💖
I know right!!! They are so funny at that age.
I dont know why people get mad at rehoming fees, look at how much work goes into raising pups not to mention how much work goes into taking care of the parents too
This is true. 🥰
