I've always used nickel plated. I switched from D"Darrio to Elixir a few years ago and have stayed with them since. However, I had to buy new strings yesterday, ordered from Strings by Mail, and almost bought stainless instead of the nickel plated. I thought they may sound a bit fuller, but stuck with what I know. The only con from the Elixir strings are that even new they don't quite have that "new string" vibrancy we bassists love. They're more like a couple days after new sounding, and they live forever. So smooth they remind me of flats. I think a set of stainless Elixir may be worthy of a look. New video? Buddy? Great content, and your bassings are great!
Great playing. Strings sound lively & brighty. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks brother!!
Those strings sounds really good, Daniel!
Once you try and hear the sound of stainless steel strings, you don't want to go back to anything else!
Great point my man!
Best video to hear this AP bass that I've been curious about. Thank you.
Thanks so much!!!
The steels sound great!
I changed over to Stringjoys medium gage nickle rounds on my P bass this past summer and love how resilient and crisp they still sound. After watching this vidoe I'll have to try the steels too.
Awesome!
Wow! Those strings sound great!!! I remember you talking about there strings. I remember telling the Facebook group about how I liked them, but didn’t know they had bass strings. Definitely gonna check them out at my local shop. 🙏🎸👍
Yeah bro!!!! Dude. If you like Stainless Steel strings, these are the best in my opinion. They did exactly what I needed for this bass.
I really want the four string version of thing. This sounds so good!
Go for it!!
I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on one.
@@sira.scottascot8865 do it!
Those sound great. For years I went in between nickel (plated) rounds and flats, never settling on either. Recently I "discovered" dead stainless rounds, which have the solid fundamental of flats with the modern "edge" of rounds. I'm six months in on some DR Hi-Beams on my main bass and that full fundamental is JUST starting to come through. I plan on keeping these on for a long time.
That’s awesome!!
🔥

Daaaang man. I Like your style. I kept getting ads from them and decided to give them a chance since their price seem average to what is out there plus free shipping.
Nice!! I hope you enjoy. Thanks for the kind words!
@@RumblinMan man, I’ve been waiting 9 days for mine. I think I’m just going to cancel my order.
@@Capitan_Chaos wow, nine days? That’s crazy.
Got them and never wanted to take anything off so fast from my bass. I don’t know but they sound so undefined to my ears. I’ll just stick to Rotosounds or Ernie Balls.
@@Capitan_Chaos they’re not for everyone. What did you not like? Do you usually use stainless steel?
Those bass lines!!..😎
Means a lot coming from a man of great talent such as yourself, Funkbass Corsario!!
@@RumblinMan you getting better & better on each video brother!!..
Great sound Bro!!
@@hectoremicolon1351 thanks so much!!!!
@@funkbasscorsario1400 it took me years to really understand the instrument.
Bad ass Sir !
Thank you sir!!
Does StringJoy have Flatwound bass strings?
Not that I know of.
I asked a few months ago and was told that it's likely for the future.
@@sira.scottascot8865 that's what they told me. I'd love to be able to build an 8 string set with flats for the main strings and rounds for the octave strings.
@@thecheeseman31415 That's an interesting idea. I like it.
