I love that right after Clive shouts "NOW DIE!", the player blasts a LVL 5. Gigaflare right at Hugo! Clive is a man that practices what he preaches after all!
I was quite looking forward to seeing you do a run of this fight in particular, because of how the pacing has a really solid two phases all of Clive in his regular form. As usual the specific combination of abilities you picked is always a delight to watch, but it was an absolutely _flawless_ finishing pose facing the camera just like your other series that was really the icing on the cake and makes it fit perfectly along all your others. Awesome work as always & thanks for sharing it with us!!
It's because it's such a proper grudge match. There's no fighting for survival or to save someone else or anything like that. Both of them just want the other dead. And that's neat.
@@tehCostHD 95% of Odin is cutscenes and screen clutter making it hard to see anything happening. Odin is a dogwater fight in the lazy half of the game. At this point I’m convinced the only way ONGBAL will ever be defeated is through a cutscene. In time I am sure this will be overcome as well. ONGBAL > Plot Armor. Greatly looking forward to more Lies of P and future Armored Corps 6 content!
It’s so nice to watch you play and conquer FF XVI, Ongbal! Awesome gameplay! Seeing Gigaflare and Zantetsuken together in a loadout and used so effectively is so satisfying!
I do the same. No challenge runs that this guy does so just like him I like to challenge myself a hack and/games. How is YS? Is it like this or is it like a one button mash combat?
@@NY-Buddy its a kooky mix depending on the era with ys 8 and 9 being similar to this kind of gameplay actually where you get perfect guard and perfect dodge windows with various moves to abuse. Kinda similar to Tales if you’ve heard of em.
That was sick, can't wait for the Odin video! great job edit: I just realized you killed him without letting him enter full stagger even once!! HOLY SHIT
3:42 I can finally appreciate the counter on the right side that says exactly what action Clive took. I have a new appreciation for Wicked Wheel now. Didn't think to use the air time + height to chain into Extreme Downthrust.
@@terrancecloverfield6791 Diamond Dust is still amazing too. Being a long animation stalls your cool-downs, and most of the stagger damage is weighted to the first hit which can stagger before the second comes out. This is great as the second hit takes the stagger multiplier to 1.3x. Diamond Dust is excellent and a staple of top level play.
This is a stupid question but, Have you ever tried to do a no boss damage of battle eikons? That would be dope but I feel like that's challenging and to demanding from me. Still I am amazed watching this video.
this man really did not want you to stagger him, you got that bar 75 percent of the way done twice in a row only for him to get in a new phase of the fight and have it replenish to 100 percent on its own each time.
Epic combat, and I'm sure as hell cant do this on my playtgroughs. but the game has too much flashy lights that I cant see whats going on half of the time and kills some of tge epicness. Which is a common problem *for me* on these modern titles. Definitely prefer sekiro type of animations and effects.
How do you recharge your zentetsuken fast to level 5? I know there is an item will of darkness, but everytime i use dancing steel, it only recharge to level 4
How long does it take for you to develop a method for boss fights? It seems from watching you do a certain sequence of attacks that are effect. How long does it take to develop that formula?
Yeah it’s a lot easier to follow but good luck staying awake and it’s mind numbingly boring. Ps, skip the side quests. Here’s an example of one. I did one during which a wannabe blacksmith needed help forging a knife. He doesn't know how, and doesn't even know what makes a good knife. So you go and talk to a butcher and a hunter, and learns that a knife needs to be sharp and sturdy. When you come back, the quest giver doesn't know which metal to use, so you go and talk to some metallurgist/merchand. She proposes that you uses limestone. You go and collect 3 limestones, they're lying on the grounds in a completly different zone. You go back to the apprentice, he forges a half decent knife and rewards you with nothing of value. Quest completed. What's the fcking point of this? It rewards nothing, there is absolutly no gameplay involved, it doesn't expand the lore in any way, hell, it doesn't even tell an interesting story. Im completly missing what sort of + value this type of quest adds to the game.
That was some intense combat. I really liked the part where you dodge multiple times and releasing a huge load of laser rain.
i LIKE this part too! no royalguard!

Amazing fight, love the visuals. This game is so good
Holy shit. Perfect end to an epic fight with Zantetsuken. Great work! Can’t wait to see you do no damage against Odin and Ultima.
The combos were too seamless that I didn't even realize the Rift Slip usage in my first time watching lol
First. As usual Ongbal is a master at what he does. He makes things look effortless. FFXVI looks amazing, imma give it a try
This should be an art form.
Hugo lifting the floor and clive running up HAS to be a reference to Kratos vs Hercules in GOW3
a masterpiece inspiring a masterpiece
