"Persistent quality issues" is such a crazy thing to say about a company that produces airplanes
And the CEO is stepping down, but not for another 7 months. Who else would get fired that slowly?
Indigo ordered 30 A350s.
"Out of the gloom comes a shaft of light". I'd much rather be hearing about this order, than the soap opera at Boeing......
Uh! This is a Boeing sponsored channel. Lol
@wadehiggins1114
I believe with options for more.

@michaelosgood9876 in Airbus, we trust 🙏
IndiGo has placed an order for 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, low-cost carrier also has purchase rights for an additional 70 Airbus A350 family aircraft. expects the deliveries to begin from 2027....
Go they are buying some clunkers before they go under
@@stevesmoneypit6137
Indigo made $362m in last quarter 2023, (latest figures) whereas Boeing made a loss of $355m for 1st quarter 2024. Indigo will have to survive on their own wits and superior fleet, but Boeing will probably get a nice big fat defense contract soon to make up for its board of clunks, who have driven it into a loss making business.........
Boeing was basically dissolved into McDonell Douglas
yeap, boeing died all the way back in 1997, and the evil mcdonnell douglas took over after their own collapse
I have heard many current and former employees of Boeing say the same thing. Boeing, it’s time tested innovation and sense of family left long ago. They just changed McDonell Douglas name to Boeing. And did as they pleased with the company.
Yep got so bad near the end of the Douglas run that they even had to start calling there aircraft MD planes so passengers wouldn't think they were on a DC 10
The old Boeings such as the 777 200 and 300ERs, the 767s and the 737 700 and 800 are fine. But I will never get in any of the shiny new coffins that Boeing have been rushing out of the hangers.
@@ronparrish6666some airlines try to hide the fact that they use the 737 max when you book their tickets. Their tickets only say Boeing 737 without specifying what 737 it is exactly.
I invested in Boeing as one of my first ever investments of my first ever Roth back in 2018. Needless to say, wasn’t a good investment.
We need another airframe manufacturer, competition drives innovation and improvement.
These aren't "quality slips" they're cock ups.
Well there won't be one anytime soon. If you want to call them cock ups fine but yes they are bad mistakes that shouldn't have happened

Whistleblowers to Boeing is like playing Whack-a-Mole. Its hard work arranging so many “self inflicted unaliving”!!!
Thanks dj!!
Honestly this piece of news could be delivered in 30 seconds instead of 6 minutes.
Why you mad?
What is the backlog of "legacy" 777s ? At what point does production lne stop because all orders for legacy 777s have been fulfilled but can't build the 777x until certified?
If I have to fly on a Boeing, I'm NOT going!!!
The planes are very safe
The challenge is for the FAA to get the engineering and safe work practices right while keeping the accountants and bean counters happy. A big challenge. Good luck.
No wonder Boeing are having quality issues, just look at the video to see how fast they put the planes together and how fast the workers are moving! Lol !😊
You should check out Airbus.. they are building more planes and faster.. I guess fast to you means low quality.
Oh Boeing… the saga continues and will for some time. I just hope that the 777-9X is launched without any serious problems. Hopefully, with so much scrutiny, the 777-9X will be gone over part by part and that the assembly of the giant airplane is flawless, as it should be.
Boeing say the 777x is progressing and is still set for mid 2025. There will be no problems on release.
@@nickolliver3021 This is ridiculous. The 2025 date was said before the Jan 2024 "happening". All certification progress has been frozen through all 2024.
And you expect any Boeing airplane to be certified in 2025? With them lying and changing nothing like it has been? Even if and when they meet the FAA deadline of 90 days it will take a long time for that to be verified as true. I wouldn't be surprised if we're not talking about several years.
And Boeing will have to pray a LOT that there isn't a single serious issue with any 737MAX and 787 during that time.
Be realistic, or get down from the clouds...
@@nickolliver3021 :-)
Not a door, but a door-plug!!!! Doh!
깔끼하네😊
looks better
Yeah good luck Boeing
Last few years have been problematic. Hope they don’t kill more people.
Losing 360 million and giving the CEO a golden parachute for his remarkable leadership results. Why hijack a plane when your small group can hijack the manufacturer of a thousand planes?
I have 100% faith in boing!
In an effort to reduce costs, Boeing has exchanged much of the aircraft hardware for speed tape…..
what is the backlog for Airbus???
dougsz28 as at the 31st March Airbus have a order book of 8626 aircraft
In the first 3 months of 2024 142 commercial aircraft were delivered.
By 2026 intention is to produce 14 x A220 per month
75 x A320 family
By 2028 intention is to increase production rate per month 12 A350 .
Good. The shareholders will be pleased
Dude, IndiGo has ordered for 30 long-range Airbus A350-900s, apart from their 500 smaller aircrafts ordered last year. Hope you are still in the loop??
It was only announced a few hours ago. And if he is in Australia it’s quite late there now
Yeah, wake up DJ, you sleepy head...😀...
@@tomstravels520 Yeah, understandable!
No surprise there.
No news aboot the Japanese Dreamliner on fire yesterday in Hokkaido new Chitose ?
It appears to have been an oil leak on an ANA 787. According to reports, the oil vaporized after coming near the hot engine creating white smoke, but there is no other evidence of fire.
@@archer1803 smocking is a tradition for this one, it’s the one that had a battery fire 10 years ago

How is Boeing making a loss news?
Plug, not a door. two very different things.
Leaves the same sized hole when it departs the aircraft...
Boeing shot callers need to stop pushing profit over quality.
Theres only a massive backlog because the airlines have NO ALTERNATIVE
That’s just simply not true
Only $400M loss, that is actually better than expected ~ 2 wide bodies..
Name one airline that has cancelled Boeing orders.
As far as I know, some airlines have adjusted their orders for aircraft that are already certified rather than wait for uncertified types.
I'm sure DJ will eventually announce the talks at Korean Air to acquire up to 20 777X. So far in 2024, Boeing is booking more orders than Airbus, no doubt due to Airbus backlogs, but Boeing orders are only going to increase once all their aircraft are certified.
I'd say it's a done deal...
Boeing finalized an order for 20 777x last month...
More than likely Korean !!!
How many airlines cancelled Boeing orders in 2019/2020 to result in -87 and -1026 net orders respectively?
As of March 31st Airbus have 170 orders, Boeing have 125. Did Boeing gain 45 orders since then?
@@tomstravels520 if they did, they got dwarved by Indigo's order today
@@tomstravels520 I forgot about the Indigo A350 order, so Airbus is ahead so I stand corrected. Boeing's net order is 126, not 125.
However, this is not 2019. Let that be.
@@sainnt once Boeing apply their special accounting rules it is actually 125. But if one plane difference matters that much I’ll let you have that. And that 170 didn’t include the Indigo order because that’s after 31st March. Airbus haven’t had any cancellations so they are still ahead anyway
Why does certification take forever?
Because if you rush it you miss potential problems like a flawed MCAS system…..on top of all the other issues that have been found
Because no one believes them now. Not even the FAA.
Boeing needs across the board pay cuts to reflect the lower quality and become profitable again. Many of their seasoned employees retired during COVID-19.
I wonder if Boeing splits into separate companies.
No way that's the real losses.. they will owe a lot more payments TBD..
😊
Boeings biggest problem is that employees really control the company. The union has control and Boeing knows that it it pushes too hard, they have a problem. Boeing has a product that is as good as any other. I was on a flight and in all seriousness, it sounded like an old model T. I love to fly and will continue to do so whenever I can. Boeing needs to get back to their motto, if it’s not Boeing, I ain’t going!
If the union would control Boeing, that would actually be a step forward towards quality considering the situation right now.
dangerous failures not "quality slips"
Trying? It's damn ridiculous and could have been criminal!
Boeing is running out of smoke, mirrors and band-aids
Boeing flexible wings acts like a real wing,it blends automatically with air stream, pilots understand it smoothness, passengers can notice the smooth ride, owners don't understand,Aliens is afraid,
it"s very simple, or Boeing gets organized again and apologizes to the shareholders for the poor result, or they go bankrupt and everybody looses
I never liked the 737! Or the 757 that had a very nasty economy car ride. They quit making the 747 which was just wonderful!! The 727 was my favorite the 767 was just another wide body with a nice ride. I recently flew on the A-330 which was ok.
Calling the lack of quality at Boeing a slip is unreasonable. Slip refers to an accident. There is no accident in complacency.
There is the question about COMAC. The Chinese airplane manufacturer if it can grow enough and have enough resources to make a plane that has characteristics that are fuel efficient.
Perish the thought that another 737 coffin goes down as that would be the end of the Frankenstein plane.
Even if it was due to pilot error?
@@nickolliver3021 Look at the United 737 MAX runway overrun. Before people realized the pilot tried taking a turn too fast, people thought the landing gear collapsed, which means they thought it was another consequence of the non-quality control over at Boeing.
Similarly, if a MAX were to crash due to pilot error, in the first few days there would be rumours that it's another consequence of Boeing's greediness culture. You see now?
@@EuropeanRailfan exactly my thought. Even the media has tried to blame boeing for that runway overrun incident. Sideshow they want them to suffer for things that are not their problem or fault. Its very sickening to see this happen
.
Poor spoke person of Boeing
coudl the Boeing quaiity control problems just be rigged? Really someone could just bribe employees to allow flaws to go through, just so they would have insider knowledge to be able to short Boeing stock later on; certainly is not impossible that someone is doing this. Would be interesting to see if anyone made a lot on shorting Boeing
You just have to fire 900 inspectors. That's exactly what Boeing did after the MAX crashes.
In other words, they doubled down on "cheap". The results of this move are now showing. And the experienced employees are gone, while the freshmen have to bear the brunt right now.
@@jantjarks7946 I think you missed what I was saying; I'm saying the employees and inspectors are just humans, they could be bribed to allow flaws to get through on purpose, in order to run the price of Boeing stock down, and they would just short the stock and make a ton of money off of the short.
@@jantjarks7946 I think you missed my point that no matter the quality of employees or inspectors, they are all human and could be bribed to create flaws just to bring the price of Boeing stock down, in order to "short" the stock. This is how the stock market typically operates behind the scenes
No, your point was discarded.
@@jantjarks7946 yeah you discarded my point and said something totally meaningless so fine with me
If Boeing cancels golden parachutes of outgoing failed management, they can probably get to 0 😁
