- Undertaker gets very honest about the Ministry of Darkness and shoots on Vince McMahon sabotaging it by including his character as "the greater power"
Shane McMahon was one of the last official members of The Ministry of Darkness, as his association with The Undertaker was the genesis of what would later become the Corporate Ministry. He was considered an inside mole for the Ministry.
After previously wrestling as Dennis Knight and Phineas Godwinn, Mideon was kidnapped and brainwashed, becoming a member of the Ministry of Darkness, though he is often viewed as the member with the least quality.
The Jackyl
The Jackyl is a forgotten part in the history of the Ministry. He managed The Acolytes, and was teased to be the person behind what would eventually become the faction, though he left WWE before the group properly got established, but it is still good to include him in this anyway.
Gangrel
Gangrel was the leader of The Brood faction, who were brought on board to the Ministry of Darkness. Unlike many members who were abducted, The Brood were equally dark and spooky characters who naturally joined forces with The Undertaker’s faction.
Bradshaw
Bradshaw, during his time in The Acolytes, was an early member of the Ministry of Darkness, and would do much of the dirty work for the powers that be in the group by abducting people to make them become members.
Edge
Edge, during his time in The Brood, but would join with the Ministry as it became clear that The Undertaker wanted to take over the WWE, and needed the numbers to do so. Alongside his fellow Brood members, they would later defect from the group.
Faarooq
Faarooq was the other member of The Acolytes tag team alongside Bradshaw who became the heavies behind the Ministry of Darkness. During his time in the group, he and Bradshaw would win the WWE Tag Team Titles, bringing some gold to the faction.
Christian’s time in the Ministry of Darkness was short-lived but notable, as he began showing signs of dissent, and even gave away details of where Stephanie McMahon was being held captive. Christian was flogged by The Undertaker and eventually left the group alongside The Brood.
Big Show
Paul Wight in AEW Cropped (1)
Big Show joined forces with The Undertaker at a time in which the Ministry of Darkness was a shell of what it once was, but he and The Undertaker proved to be an effective duo as the “Unholy Alliance” with two Tag Team Titles reigns.
The Undertaker
The Undertaker raw is XXX
The Undertaker was the most notable member of the Ministry of Darkness, leading the faction in their assault upon the WWE.

Thanks for watching I
Ministry Undertaker was scary as shit as a 10 year old watching wwf 😂
I was in High school and was wondering where they were going with this, and then it fell flat instantly when Vince was revealed even though we got a funny soundbite.
I was like 8 😂😂😂
😂 was very scary
You should’ve seen him debut. He was absolutely horrifying. I was about 8 when he first debuted as Million Dollar Man’s mystery tag partner. My friends and I endlessly debated on whether or not he was actually dead. One friend swore to me that the first time he saw Undertaker fall down, he saw embalming fluid coming out of his mouth. Dumb kids and their lies, lol
@heathermillsphantomlimb9314 I bet, brother! That was slightly before my time.
He looked awesome in The Ministry of Darkness. A shame the Corporation had to merge with it and ruin it 😕
Like most corporate mergers.
I couldn't tolerate it until the merger. But Vince I agree became the HP in June sucked.
@@Speedyreedy1218 and there were too many wrestlers in the group
@@shaunhailey1 Corporate Ministry trimmed fat. The Corporation had too many members.
At least the theme remix was awesome.
The Undertaker rarely talks about the ministry of darkness.
Because no one ever brings up his thoughts on the Ministry lol
There's a reason for that 😂
Undertaker talks about the Ministry on his 2001 This Is My Yard documentary and says how very proud he was of it but has also gone on to say that he considers the Corporate Ministry to be a low point in his career because of Vince Mcmahon's involvement as the greater power.
It becoming the corporate ministry is probably why.
I mean there's not that much to talk about 1999 was the only year and didn't last long
And that puts the rumor of Taker not "liking" the ministry of darkness to rest. Taker never hated it, he just didn't like the higher power to be revealed as Vince
And he didnt like The Corporate Ministry.
Honestly the best way the could've gone is keep the Ministry as it was before the corporation took charge of it.
Undertaker leads a power stable and "topples WWE's monarchy" but in a twist of fate, he finds having all the power of WWE at his fingertips is meaningless, and vanishes, leaving the ministry in charge (and reason for him to be gone with the injury)
Instead of returning at judgement day to save what? The rock or triple H, from I forgot who. ( I forgot the specifics) He returns to stop the remnants of the ministry as the American Badass. Taker started the ministry, he should've ended it.
@@kevinmoore2474 I like that idea tbh
I've heard 'Taker say in previous interviews he was proud of the Ministry because it brought up guys like Edge, Christian and the Acolytes. He's just never been happy about the way it ended.
I gotta say, it was weird to see Vince so proud about orchestrating his own daughter’s kidnapping. That led to an attempt at a sacrificial marriage ceremony 😂. But true words, up until that point the ministry arc was really cool to follow
Looking back it should’ve told us then how big of a sick freak Vince is
Not the only person he sacrificed
They were beating vinces ass everyweek worst than stone cold. It made no sense
Vince wanted to have an incest angle with Stephanie and when that got shut down, one between Shane and Stephanie.
Also he used to advice Jericho what kind of slurs to call Stephanie. Heck, he was even in the room when Angle kissed Steph. So by all accounts, forced marriage was extremely mild
@@4zafincAnd he also penned an angle in like 2002 or 2003 or 2004 in which Eric Bischoff (who is known to be into wife-swapping) kidnapped, sexually harassed, and then forcibly made-out with his wife Linda McMahon until she gave-in and reciprocated. And that one actually _DID_ wind-up airing on WWE Monday Night Raw.
And actually I think there was anotuer segment where Raw GM Eric Bischoff & SmackDown! GM Stephanie McMahon were heated rivals and were arguing in an office and then a lot of sexual tension filled the air, culminating in the two of them making out *HARD* and Stephanie laying back on the desk with Bischoff on top of her.
His Lord of Darkness (Ministry) theme is Goated.
The ministry was my favorite part of the attitude era
Out of all the storylines in the attitude era, your is the 4 month long run of the ministry....Jesussss
@@MosDefnIT88 yeah........... and
Lets just all settle on the whole of the ATTITUDE ERA.... Im 36 lived it from start to finish❤😢
@@Henderson-fc7xy 40 here lived through it looks yes the WHOLE thing was amazing
Not the best. Definitely needed a fresh start
Undertaker's Ministry theme is a top 4 all time theme song! It's right up there with Evolution, The 4 Horsemen and Mike & Maria Kanellis!
definitely not
Yes it is
Best theme for taker for sure
He was actually visibly disappointed during the higher power segment and he is still disappointed with it. Sadly that character was cut short
Bro hung big boss man at wrestlemania😂
😭
Watching that shit as a kid was insane. I though I really watched a man die on tv 😂
Ministry Undertaker was the best Undertaker
Plus a badass theme
Agree my favorite version was of Taker was ministry. He was built up and given great creative by Russo and then he all of a sudden became second fiddle to McMahon even as a kid I never understood that. Pre Corp Ministry Taker was by far in my opinion the best
Best version of taker most intimdating
Shud have just turned on the corporate and reclaimed his authority with the ministry. The ministry was badass
To me Undertaker in his Ministry of Darkness form was the most sinister and darker gimmick where he was to me the Ultimate Digimon in WWF at the time for the majority of 8 months. The goth cape, the goatee, the long hair, the dark persona, the Mant from the Darkside, the Purity of Evil himself, the Lord of Darkness when he recruited Edge, Christian, Gangrel, Viscera, Mideon, Bradshaw and Faarooq went on to become Undertaker's Disciples winning championships, accolades, achievements to legendary status and future Hall of Famers in their own right. Then the McMahons got involved it turned to its water down version that shouldn't been happening but it is what it is. What a run, a takeover of Destruction within the company at the time during the Attitude Era. Respects for the Undertaker. Thank you Taker
Rumor was it was supposed to be Jake the snake but alcohol got in the way
Now that would have been awesome!
Should have been the Ted Dibase, the embodiment of money...
Russo said it wasn't going to be Jake
I remember hearing there was a pitch for it to be Christopher Daniels, but Vince saw his footage and said he was too small.
Corporate Ministry had a bangin theme tho
Yup, I thought nothing could top Undertaker’s Ministry Of Darkness entrance theme song, but the Corporate Ministry theme music did just that!
The "one time" he missed? Cmon
Mark is loyal to the dude.. And Vince changed his life. Of course he has some personal bias. Anyone would. He at least has the balls to speak out about shit he didn't agree with
He said “that might have been one time that he missed” as a very basic statement. He’s not saying it’s THE one time lol
McMahon always has to be the one w/ the power .of course it was him
Plus, they’re friends. He’s not going to do his bud wrong in these, and say this was bad, that was bad, all of it.
😄😄😄 in his defense he didn't use the word "the", he simply said "one time".
I still love that "IT WAS ME AUSTIN!!" And then Linda comes out an introduces CEO SCSA....the way Austin walked out talking that sheet pointing at Vince was hilarious
Even Satan himself became a student of this version of UNDERTAKER
Nothing was darker to me as a kid than the original Undertaker. Him and Paul Bearer scared the shit out of me.
Ministry Undertaker was best Undertaker. Taker crucifying Stone Cold was legendary.
This version of The Undertaker was really cool, I loved the darker side to it all. It made The Undertaker, look like he morph into a demon monster.
Someone needs to ask him what he thought the ministry should go
Ministry could’ve definitely lasted longer and became like the wwf gothic version of nwo.
Minstry of Darkness was definitely the darkest and most evil incarnation ever of The Undertaker, he truly was the sith lord of wrestling. The Ministry was awesome and really wished it lasted long.
It was one of the best story line's in wrestling history
Ministry Undertaker was cool because it was like an update of the original Undertaker, which was scary but kind of cartoonish, as WWF characters were at that time.
I was scared asf of Undertaker when i was 8-10yo. Ministry of Darkness Taker was terrifying
One time that he missed.. no Vince messed up several times
Especially when vince booked himself to win the 1999 Royal Rumble.
Could’ve expanded with more members and Charles wright could’ve brought papa shango back to join. Doink could’ve came back and joined as a darker clown.
Could’ve forced DX Austin and the rock to join forces
That was one of Vince's biggest flops. But JR's "oh sonofaBITCH" call is a classic
“Where to Stephanie?”
“DAa-“
I remember being sooooo disappointed at Vince being the Higher Power.
Great theme, great look, great energy. The *Ministry of Darkness* was absolute badass ^^
Ministry Taker was absolutely terrifying. He looked like the Devil himself. The corporate ministry was a terrible idea and it isn't a surprise the whole thing just burned out and didn't have a proper finish to the story.
To me this was the best version of Undertaker. It really could’ve dominated the WWE and the war with the Corporation could have kept going. The Higher Power could have been something symbolic like when M. Bison had the crystal Eagle for his Psycho power. It could have represented Undertaker’s dark power and his influence on the Ministry.
That's my favourite version of the undertaker of all time and also the American badass version of the undertaker. ❤
The gimmick was great but it seriously lacked prominent funds and was actually short lived
Best version of Undertaker, BY FAR. Just look at the extra muscle mass in his arms, the badass goatee, the longer, thicker hair, the awesome outfit....and even the best Undertaker music. This was PEAK Undertaker. Everything before and after pales in comparison.
Should've kept the Brood, and make The Ministry the strongest faction in Wwf history.
“Where to, Stephanie?”
“Æ”
Actually it's actually awesome because it's just like Star wars behind hind dark Vader was thevil emperor dark sith Lord Darth sidious
Vince’s ego ruined a few things.
How would The Undertaker feel if Jake The Snake had turned out to be The Higher Power as originally planned?
This was the Undertaker at his best. Despite Vince screwing it up.
Ministry era Taker was awesome, Vince dropped the ball on that so hard.
Vince said “HOLD MY BEER 🍺”
Wish taker told Vince he being the higher power was a silly idea though what came out of it was Stephanie’s heel turn
What ? No Stephs heal turn came after that story line and had nothing to do with it
💯. Ministry lost its steam when Vince came out.
Love you undertaker there's no one like you and never will be ❤ ❤ ❤
The ministry of darkness is definitely the best of all the Undertakers.
The higher power should have been someone from wcw as part of the wars, sting would have been cool
"but what am I supposed to do" bro sound defeated that he lost the battle for creative 😂😂
Originally was going to be Jake the Snake but Vince axed it and made himself the leader. Bad move should’ve just let Taker run with it. My favorite undertaker and reason I remained a fan all those years but his ability to recreate himself over and over is special. The 🐐
“One time he missed” ???? One time ????? You can’t think of any other time ?????????
I didn't even hate Corporate Ministry until Vince was revealed as the Higher Power.
Man that shit was cool as fuck, the entrance alone is the one of the best songs I’ve ever heard
It may have been a miss but that cooperate ministry theme was 🔥🔥🔥
So Vince took the streak and made the ministry dull got it
How the hell did he go completely humanised being a biker from this? He says he got stale but he definitely wasn't when he was rocking the unholy alliance gimmick. It was perfect to come back with a motorbike and probably a sidecar hearse attached to it, there's so much more he could of done to allie that biker gimmick to the original one. I never understood what the biker gimmick was about because it wasn't the undertaker
What a time to be alive 🔥🔥
Ministry of Darkness ,Undertaker at his most memorable 😂
They should’ve made the commissioner, Shawn Michaels be the higher power
Leave it to Vince to ruin a perfectly good faction. As many good ideas as he’s had, he equally has many bad ones. That was one. He turned the Ministry into a 12-man joke. He “NWO’d” it-
Undertaker
Paul Bearer
Vince
Shane
Mideon
Bradshaw
Farooq
Viscera
Big Boss Man
Means Street Posse
Triple H
Chyna
Finally this came to light
Yea I agree with taker on how they dropped the ball on Vince being the higher power
It's because they were looking for someone to be the Higher Power and couldn't find someone suitable, so Vince had to step in when they couldn't find anyone, and that ruined it being both rushed and unplanned.
would've been a mistake to introduce a higher power, there was nobdoy bigger than the Undertaker, certainly not a new guy 'Taker would answer to. It was folly.
The Higher Power should've been treated like the devil himself, or a older evil than the devil.
Great gimmick, but yeah, did not match with the corporation at all
Even the goat had to do stuff he didn't want to but the corporate ministry theme song was 🔥🔥🔥
I agree. The wheels definitely fell off when McMahon and company got involved.
I actually like the twist that itt was Vince the whole time. It explained how Undertaker was able to do all those sinister things and get away with it
The reveal of Vince as the higher power is when WWF jumped the shark and it took a while to impact. This leading towards McMahons dominating 2000 and HHH having get off my tv heat while he dominated the title lost them millions of fans.
I agree with him. The ministry was so dope but after it became part of "the corporation" it just sucked all of the coolness out of it.
It's kind of like when slang or certain handshakes/gestures were underground and then corporations made it mainstream and everyone started doing it.
All those months of great storytelling just for it to be squandered into another generic stepping stone in ‘Austin Vs McMahon’.
Ministry Taker was the best version of taker. That's my opinion and I'm standing on it.
My favorite Undertaker 💯
One of the best moments of all time lol undertaker 1999
I’ll say it again. The “higher power“ should have been Shawn, Michaels. It would’ve worked really well. In story, he had all the reasons to be angry with Vince and Stone cold
back in the time wcw had no story lines. folllowing the excellent wwf storyline finding vinny under the hood made zero sense.
built it up so much than nothing i stopped watching
The ministry was great, made stars out of the other faction members, not just Taker
I loved the Ministry of Darkness
He's right. They should have had ministry incorporation fight to the last man
So he would have gone, "aw son of a bitch" at going from the final boss of Buffy the Vampire Slayer...this should have happened they would have knocked it out of the park, to just a corporate stooge?
Loved that era ❤️
JR said it best when Vince revealed himself as the Higher Power.
"Son of a bitch!"
He flat-out hanged Bossman at Wrestlemania 15.
One of my favorite undertakers… ministry of darkness 😅
Vince as higher power made no sense whatsoever. It completely destroyed it
I mean... From a stand point he is or was the higher power considering he owned the company.
The corporate ministry killed the momentum that the ministry of darkness had.
That Vince being the higher power reveal was pretty stupid😂😂
The reveal of Vince as the higher power really sucked, and how his family then came out and he was all surprised and sorry that they hated his guts made this all just look like a complete shitshow. The only reveal worse than this was Bray Wyatt putting on a veil and AI talking as sister abigail.
Vince ruin sometimes screw up! Sometimes I wish Vince would let things grow and see where it made go.
Ministry of Darkness was my favorite version of Undertaker ever and storyline of ALL TIME until Vince ruined it so badly. I remember screaming into my pillow uncontrollably as a teenager.
It was me Austin, it was me aaaaaaall along Austin. Even my own family fell for it.....😂
100% facts from Taker, Ministry was awesome until it became the corporate ministry, then it was sh*t.
Undertaker reacts to How Adam would book The Higher Power?
McMahon/Higher Power was as tragic a mistep as Sting/Hogan Starrcade '97. Two companies ruining the two greatest dark characters of all time with stupidity and overcomplication.
Taker right that story line had more legs when it was taker vs vince and Austin
I miss the sinister undertaker
Taker should of sparked vince out as soon as vince reaveled himself on live tv. That would of been good and probably fixed things
Vince "the headshitter" McMahon
