    You hvae not lived until you have taken a road trip with a friend or by yourself in a Tesla. I know it sounds weird, but sleeping at a Truck Stop connects you to yourself if you are alone and connects you to a person if traveling with a friend. Always choose your night stops carefully; I prefer busy truck stops. You will be surprised how many Tesla and non-Tesla people are spending the night (camping) at these stops. People have all kind of reasons for being on the road; to start a new life, a new job, to see the family or just on a road trip for the adventure. Tesla camp mode keeps you cool or warm 👍🏾

    Cool thx for sharing, B T W: you didn’t use the shades right (reflective side face outward in DAYTIME to reject sun/heat) but black side facing out at night for stealth sleeping, still blocks light but just looks like tints from afar. Shiny side out from afar tells people ‘oh there’s people sleeping in there’ just sayin :)

    Appreciate the video. It' helpful. But two things to point out : 1. I don't think it's a good idea to camp at charging stations. 2. If I remember it right it takes about 5% per night of charge in camp mode. Would have been nice if you validated this info.

      Glad you enjoyed the video! We wanted to try to see what it was like to sleep at a free charging station. That’s battery is one thing we wish we kept track of. I'm going go up to yellowstone in a few months, and I'm looking for a new set of window covers that could help conserve energy like that.

    Wondering more about the aerogogo belts that hook into the front seat belt anker. Does this belt support across the width of the mattress? Does the ends hook into plastic trim or reach metal structure?
    I use a tri-fold foam mattress and looking at best way to extend support past the seat backs and width to door panels.
    I have seen for sale thin panels that loop a belt around front head rests, but not sure that would be good for the seat mechanism.
    I would like to accomplish both leveling seat-back pitch and take some load off the folded backs, so repeated use doesn't wear the seat-back mechanism. Ideally, I would like to keep floor accessible for travel/camping items.

    • @outdoorevofficial
      @outdoorevofficial  7 месяцев назад +2

      lt supports the head part of the mattress. The ends do hook into the plastic part of the plastic trim when the seat belt is. I like the straps because it does support the mattress, making it not strain the back seat that much. I still have access to the back seat floors, but it’s hard get things from the floor.

      Model 3 definitely has it’s unique characteristics, but I think the best value to cost, the Model Y is more worth it than getting the 3. You can’t beat larger cargo space, HEPA filter, heavier base, and a panoramic roof. I maybe biased, but it’s for a good reason :)

    Considering the risks associated with sleeping in internal combustion engine cars, how safe is it to sleep in an electric car like the Tesla Model Y in terms of life safety?

    • @outdoorevofficial

    you guys are so cool. Makes me want to get a model Y haha.. but I’m a bit reluctant hearing of some battery issues, fires, transmission, fitment, and recently rear view recall. I rented one before but finding a charging station was a challenge and I got paranoid when my battery level was low

    • @outdoorevofficial
      @outdoorevofficial  7 месяцев назад

      Aw thanks! Those are valid concerns. So far, we haven’t ran into any battery concerns or any of the other issues you mentioned thankfully. We hope our experiences put EVs in a better light.

    • @douglyseng1083
      @douglyseng1083 5 месяцев назад

      Wow, not sure where you get your info @corpuzone, but there are no Battery issues, transmission?, or fitment? problems in a Tesla. Chevy Bolt did have trouble on their earlier models with the battery and fires but they have got that figured out and their newer cars are OK. The so called rearview "recall" was fixed by a software update that was performed in my garage, fix was pushed out before the "Recall" was officially issued. Just plug your car in at night and leave with a fully charged car every morning. If you are on a road trip, just tell the car your destination and the car will route that trip with the required Supercharger stops along the way. Model Y is the safest car in the world. If you think you would enjoy a Tesla @corpuzone, I would give it another look and talk to someone that owns one about your concerns. As for the video, great job guys, I really enjoyed it. Love how nice and easy that mattress is to setup and stow.

      Luckily we didn’t have to use the restroom in the middle of night. There was a close gas station near by if we had to use it before it closed.

      We appreciate your concern. Although you can never guarantee your safety in public areas, but when you’re camping out at a free EV charger, you can always unlock your charge port while in the Tesla and drive off if you’re in a dangerous situation.

      Planet earth isn’t safe in general. Crazy things happen all the time. For no reason. You are never safe. If you are scared of life? Stay in your bunker

      Honestly not a bad deal, however, it’d still be a pricey home to buy (upfront cost)
