As always, go out & stay adventurous! See u in the next vid.
this man (and couple) are genius!! I even finished the video but need to say it.. CONGRATS FOR THAT MIND and thanks for share your knowledge mate! VIVE la France!
Julien and Cecile are some of the greatest people I've met! Haha, VIVE la France!
Living in Tesla's are the new trendy alternative to renting a room in a shared house
Eg a person will usually pay approx £500-600 a month
Eg £6k + a year to rent a room in a houseshare and have nothing at the end of the year to show for it etc Whereas if a person lives in the car that they own and buy the equipment here in this video etc they own their own accommodation and have free energy for life and no household bills except car costs etc
It's the way forward
Best car tour I've ever seen
👍
charging is not free
@@andycao8001 charging is free if you live in a car if you do it right
I thought about it once too but how do you do it during winter to take a shower, intimacy and that kind of stuffs ?
Nice Setup and Inspiration for my own Build
Brilliant setup and smart guy
Love the engineering behind it, i guess he's a tech or engineer at least he has that mindset it's nice ! There are improvements for sure, like everything and it's what's really cool. Figure out the quirks of your gears to fix it. Table solution will be solved soon if he looks at designs on the internet for example with a router, make the shape of 2 bent metal rods that will act as feet and that fold inside the table itself. At first i thought it'd have been better to link both water tanks together but in case there's a leak i prefer his setup, way easier to quickly find the leak, disconnect it and not loose the content from the other container. For the induction cookers i was also thinking how they'd work with the shitty PWM (kinda) system it uses like to go 60% it like heats up to 100 then 6secs after goes down to 0 etc.. it's stupid, cheap way to do that but stupid still so i like he did research on that.
For the solar panel cable at the back you usually never go on top of the rubber trunk or door seals, but at least he went on top and where the trunk itself kinda reduces the amount of water that could enter so it should be fine. For his electrical system he'd need a fire extinguisher and a killswitch to me, with the water tanks close by and all flammable material it's a no brainer. The multi socket acts as so yep but I'd literally open the battery and waterproof an external killswitch between the battery and the motherboard (that's a bigger project though xD)
For the frunk you can put stuff under the hood itself, thin stuff ofc but that's a way to store big and thin items like stools, tent, folding wood boards (?) To use as tables when eating in the car. But i like all the thinking behind everything, to gain space ! That's what I'm doing as I'm currently redoing my small apartment, think multipurpose ! Awesome !
The fridge in the little compartment is awesome. This set up is very nice. Tesla’s new robotaxi should have solar panels integrated into the rooftop and also a built in Starlink dish. The model Y has even more room.
Tesla having vehicle-to-load would simplify this car camping for many. Would be less nead for solar setup and for most, no need for ecoflows which take up much useful space in the vehicle
I agree! If Model Y Juniper has an inverter, will probably buy it and ditch the Ecoflow battery. Also, will give my Starlink to my parents and buy the new model which is super slim, and fix it to the glass roof (inside) so it's hidden between the roof and the sunshade. Returns all the space to the user!
Wow, very impressive set up! Must be so cool to travel with it!
Did buy our first Tesla 2013 with free supercharging. In the beginning we just used a normal mattress later we did buy a DreamCase. Still have the same car now with 360.000 km driven and still no big issues. Know our family owns 4 Tesla cars and we all travel a lot.
If you’re in camp mode does you’re miles go up?
@@DrewskiPerformance You mean the cars kW consumption goes up ? Depending on outside temperature here in Sweden it can be minus 10 degrees Celsius and more and wind / snow, over night sometimes we have used almost 40 kW so don’t stay too far from a SuC.
@@DrewskiPerformanceMiles do not go up from running camp mode or Dog mode.
What four models does your family own? Deciding on what year any type to get currently.
@@user-gx7yy9ws1s 2013 Model S, 2015 Model S, 2020 Model 3, 2024 Model Y. Best one so far is Berlin made Y with LFP batteries regarding charging speed. Best otherwise is 2015 with Dual motors when it comes to comfort and storage, the earlier models S with the large motor did have some DU problems.
Awesome. Heaps of great ideas
Thanks for sharing and happy traveling! Many great ideas to get inspired from :)
i love the really wide screen movie theater-type format!!
love this guys energy!
Julien is freaking awesome, I love him
That's why I've come to the conclusion to rather get a Model Y than a 3. Good to find you and get inspiration how to build the interior and technical installation.
So cool to find people who like to use their Tasla as a camper. I was thinking to get a box for the towhitch to have more storage for personel stuff as shoes and clothes.
But first I have to replace my Ioniq with a Model Y.
If you have to have a box in the back, you have too much stuff.
That trunk table is genius!
Would love to see a sketch of the platform base design in detail. 😊

This solar/electric oven blows my mind.
I have already added some of these items in my list :) . Thanks
A place for everything and everything in its place.
Great. I like the solar oven
A person can also charge the ecoflow at an electric charger at the same time as charging the tesla etc and if you have
2 ecoflows and pair tem they can charge up a tesla remotely for a few miles etc
He totally utilized Tesla's Panel gaps to be his advantage.....
wow no kidding, how is the hatch not pinching those wires?
Panel gaps are awesome guys! 😍
I'm Julien from the video btw!
@@julienvmI really like what you did with the car. The fridge, is there a company that installed it for you?
What an amazing idea abt th Tesla camper group world wide!!!
absolutely!!
wow super cool thats such an awesome idea. great little build, never seen this done to a Tesla, love it
Install the window shade then lower the right and left visors to hold the window shade in place.
I'm not sure if Julien can see this but you can find him on X! twitter.com/julienvm Joyeuses aventures!
Great! We’ll be ready for the future campers meetup 😉🏕️
Let me know where / when and I'll come!
@@julienvm Sounds like a great plan ☺️Happy New Year ☀️🎆
Great work!
Amazing, brilliantly explained.
If worried about a water system leaking onto the battery, you could fit a small cheap battery operated moisture alarm
Very innovative Julien, I am glad you were inspired.
Did road trip from Maine to Florida and car camped in the Tesla Y the whole way!!! No hotels at all! It was wonderful!!! Stayed at Love’s Travel centers and Cracker Barrels that allow one night stays and stayed at Campgrounds!!! Was able to charge at campgrounds with 30 amp or 50amp ( if campsite had 50 amp) charger adapters that attach to Tesla mobile charger. Super fun and comfortable and a more authentic experience of the area you’re in. Got so many ideas from this video!!!
Hi, can you tell me some of the places you stayed? I am traveling to Florida leaving the end of this week from Cape Cod.
@@jmmcmcm Hi!!! Istayed mostly at the above mentioned places. Loves travel centers, Cracker Barrel ( can have breakfast there too) and even a Walmart. Many of them will allow a one night stay for travelers. RV and car Campers tend to congregate in areas away from the front door of the establishments. We met friends in Fl who found some state parks where we stayed a couple of nights here and there. We camped inland off of the Forgotten Coast of Fl which is in North Western state. Nothing to write home about but gave us a place to shower, do laundry and charge the car. Two places I remember were Manatee Spring State Park and St Joe’s Beach had a state park too. It all depends what part of Florida you are going to. I recommend camping at Anastasia State Park ( has beach which I went to last year) on East coast or to go visit Anna Maria Island Beach on West Coast of Florida ( not a camping spot that I know of).
Make sure you have the mobile charger and that allows you to trickle charge. If you get the 30 amp or 50 amp attachment for the mobile charger, you can charge much more quickly. Some campsites don’t have the 50 amp. In case you don’t already have it, it is a good idea to have a heavy duty 10 gauge or 8 gauge 25 ‘extension cord. I learned this on RUclips. It surely came in handy for camping spots where electrical hookup was further than mobile charger could reach. Also make sure ( if you haven’t already) to get charging adapters that are for EVs and not RV ones. You can also get a Black Card Planet Fitness Gym membership for $25/month and you and a guest can shower in any state you are in. Showers at Loves went up to about $19 each. Can do laundry there too. There are apps out there to find campsites for car, tent camping. I’m still learning too😄
Have a wonderful trip!!!
I have all the needed cords and adapters for charging. I also have a backup EcoFlow delta Max that charges off the dc outlet while driving or charging. Full, it gives an extra 5miles of charge if I were truly stuck.
Thanks for those places you listed - I know about the Cracker Barrel’s and Walmarts, bass river pro shops and the fitness pass.. I’ll google those other places you mentioned.. I
have driven cross country many years ago for a couple of months, so this time I plan to have a ton less stuff overall.
Kind regards,
Jim
That sounds like a really awesome trip!! I'm so glad that you had a great time!
How well thought through
Exactly what model were the roof solar panels on top? This is amazing
now imagine how cheap I can go to norway with free supercharging :P
Super nice, and super nice people.
what a great video by the way, also really loved the solar oven very cool
really impressed. thanks for sharing.
What a cool video! Is there anyone out there that could help me understand something, if you wanted to put the solar panel underneath the top glass in the Tesla so it’s not outside, how badly would it’s performance be affected by the glass? I know it’ll be less because of the shadings and stuff but I’m curious if there’s anyone out there that could test it with their vehicle. Thanks!
:) I hope one day Tesla will make solar panel embedded in the top glass so it will perfectly fit your need!
@@feelingkMe too. Tesla should incorporate the solar panels, have a built in Starlink dish, and have electrical outlets inside in addition to usb A and C ports on the new model 2 or robotaxi.
Since the Tesla glass roof is tinted quite heavily, the panels underneath it will be rendered unusable
Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent!
Thank you. 🙏🏻 Great video.
This is so cool. I love the oven !!!
Me too.
Nice
Very well done !
Hi dad!
Great content. Would love to see him work on a Cybertruck!
Hopefully a Tesla CyberVan soon.
Would be nice to see one with optional rear seats and chassis mounting holes for aftermarket upgrades
I will totally buy a Tesla Van.
However, I might keep the Model Y, as it is very stealth. You can park it anywhere and nobody knows someone is sleeping in it!
How do you charge the 12v batteries that are in the car?
I’m about to start my small adventure living in my model 3
That's exciting! How has it been?
@@LivinginTesla it’s been going well! Picking up my TesMat this weekend and doing a cross country road trip!
Amazing!
how do they get 230v in their tesla?
They have an ecoflow battery in the back seats
How many miles per good sunny day do you get charging your Tesla from all the solar panels you have?
I wish tesla would sell a V2L kit
As a pilot you are. Do you trust Tesla Autopilot like flying?
People discover that with Tesla and EVs, where even as a 23yo I'd do with my shitty Fiesta xD
Our parents did that decades ago but people discover : life, only now, tf x)
How does this car move! So much weight 😂
Everything is pretty light actually
how do i buy the silicone dishes that fit into the GOSUN oven?
I think they come with the oven
Yes, they do. But they are also sold separately if needed (see accessories section)
You’re know they’re French when they have 2 induction cooktops, a solar oven, 2 sinks….
🙏💯
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
You pay what you get. There is no free lunch.
Do you really need all those dishes for two people ?
If you mean cookware, we have the bare minimum: 2 induction cooktops, 2 pans, 2 plates, 2 forks, 2 knifes, 2 spoons.
They’re French: food and eating is very high priority
Just buy a camper, if you want a camper.
This is much better for us: virtually free to operate (no fuel, free supercharging for now), constant temperature during night without burning fuel, stealth so no one knows we're sleeping there and can park anywhere.
You shouldn’t be watching this video if you don’t want the information. If you want an ugly camper made of cardboard and flimsy plastic off-gassing every VOC known to man, you go right ahead! I’ll take my Tesla in camping mode with its constant inflow of HEPA filtered fresh air, thanks.
Not the same. Any Tesla can activate the full self driving feature that you can buy by the month. It is very helpful for long distance driving.
@@julienvmWhere did you buy the induction cooktop from? Do you have the link for it?
@@julienvmAh, never mind. I found it thanks. Another question, who installed the refrigerator for you?
how u make ur Tesla to a trash collector
