I feel a lot smarter and enlightened after this segment. The subject of China is very nuanced and The Merge captured that in this episode.

In RIMPAC 80 the Spruance Class Destroyer O'brian lost a Lamps2 Kaman when it ran out of fuel about 80 miles from the ship. RIMPAC stopped until those guys were fished out of the drink. When they were returned I never saw such red faces. Things happen when you least expect it.

And it won’t be close to enough. US Military needs 10000:JASSM Missiles 1000s of Naval strike missiles and 10s of millions of artillery rounds and mortar rounds to be prepared for a true war that would last years. Saying they will increase artillery product to 90k a month only gives 3k rounds a day for a entire front. It’s not enough as we see Ukraine struggling saying they need a lot more artillery.

@@impossible7386Every big war has an ammo crunch it happens on all sides. We can learn from that. I don't think it's realistic to expect to front load all that expense. Increase production where it makes sense. There is plenty to learn from the war in Ukraine. But, the USA is not Ukraine and doesn't plan to fight the same way as Ukraine.

I'm sure production will increase thousandfold in the event of total war.
However I don't think that will be likely, it may be lower intensity with hacking and disruption to begin with.@@impossible7386

The hell kinda mumbo jumbo are you implying? "Congratulations, your baby has blue eyes so he's gonna be successful" - every doctor in your reality, probably.
