Why didn't you ask why the Sec Def got directly involved with the B-21 program and left instructions which is not normal?

I would suggest multiple required ideas related to Sentinel program. From the project charter, throughout the program. So far, this program is still a debacle. They need outside of .mil industrial complex experienced business, program management, and engineering experience.
Not that we would, but we could pull out the documentation that ran Titan, Minuteman (1,2,3), MX/Peacekeeper (later stages), reuse and run with. End result would be better, faster, longer life than current chaos will bring. Imagine working with these timeless principles, adding what is better in the modern arena. The men and women of Sentinel are tiny specs at producing results fast, then the men of the past programs mentioned. That should not be.
There should be the “Battlestar Galactica” concept kept with this program. No immersed integrated only single system. Less reliance on software, far less connectivity, especially to the outside. This system WILL be hacked if the “sensor fusion” with game boy security (like F35) is at the foundation of this system.
Also, jump the shark and do actual underground nuclear testing of the warheads. THIS IS A TOTAL REQUIREMENT. Yes, some 40 year old treaty will be pressed. So what? We have NO real idea if warheads will work. Simulations DO NOT MAKE THE GRADE as only measurement.
    So say we all.

The acquisition process has been broken by the USAF Contracting people who prioritize cost over quality. Agile software development has failed as it is not a quality model. People making requirements for new systems like the T-7 trainer don’t see a need to drop training munitions, instead choosing to pretend using the computer. Nothing compares to looking back and seeing a shack. And winning quarters:)

This just seems like a bunch of word salad to justify the outrageously astronomical cost of developing and producing systems, I come out of the high tech sector that created and produced many of the things people take for granted today, and I believe we should be able to do better when it comes to the ridiculous cost of these systems, don't get me wrong we make the best stuff in the world, but the cost is over the top ridiculous.
Some how less bureaucracy and fat to bring this stuff to a reasonable cost level should be a priority. Remember why this is done, To protect the Greatest Nation to ever exist ! And if it's destroyed by massive debt no one wins, so trim down and get to fighting weight and be more economical for all our sakes.

So this is the guy that does nothing while defense industry charges us way too much for essential things?

If you want to go down the bargain basement cheap road you get the Russian Air Force. They can't fly SEAD strike packages, their bombers are all old Soviet era non-stealth garbage. The best they can do is add Chinese wing kits to old Soviet dumb bombs to drop on us here. USAF jets with the latest AMRAAM D models could blow the Su-34 Fullbacks out of the sky before they even got to release altitude. If you want quality you have to pay for it, the Russians could learn a lot from Mr Hunter. That's what your money gets you, the best air force in the world, be grateful, we'd love a USAF of our own here in Ukraine! 💌
