This fight is one of my favorites in the game. Kind of hate how they had an inferior version in the Leyndell sewers. I have no idea if there's a lore reason but it stole a little bit of the excitement you get when discovering a new boss.
Mohg left a clone there because he needed something guarding the Three Fingers, to avoid the risk of someone bringing the frenzied flame to the world like Vyke almost did. If the frenzied flame reached their world, Mohg couldn't fulfill his life objective of raising a dynasty as the lord of the new god Miquella and the plans of the Formless Mother, the Outer God he worships
just beat him myself but i had to use my mimic both of us with bleed weapons. on the second phase he would not stop flying once. i don't see how you kept him on the ground that whole time he was sperging out over and over again fro me.
i find that fighting with spirit ashes/summons screws with AI a lot. bosses will cancel animations, do the same attack over and over and over, and sometimes even instantly attack without windup. it's wacky. it's the primary reason why i recommend people dont use ashes/summons for their first playthrough (if they're a melee build).
@@chadiversity7326 While the AI can get a bit weird, a maxed mimic can take the boss to 50% all by himself... though i imagine the curse would do a big number on him, if not kill him outright. I'm on this fight right now and i keep failing to dodge properly, especailly on those delayed hits. Beat all the other From games multiple times, you'd think it would count for something, but nah...
@@chadiversity7326 HOLY SHIT, TY DUDE! I swear that single move is the most cancerous shit ive seen in a Souls game since the DS2 Boss Runbacks... like, not only does that mf nearly 1 shots me with each Bleed, HE ALSO HEALS ON MY FACE???? The absolute disrespect; beat the living shit out of him after getting that Tear.
@@OfficialBeef i have already gotten better! I only have Radabeast to beat before I beat the base game, then gotta beat all the extra bosses. The DLC has been fun so far though.
@@chadiversity7326 Im using a +10 Ruins Greatsword with 56 strength, my damage per hit is only like 600dmg against the mini-boss version of this guy in the Subterranean shunning grounds. Haven't managed to stagger him even once, because the colossal swords are so slow. Feels like using pure strength with colossal sword is playing the game on extra hard mode.
@@EiyuuOumono you gotta use jump attacks to ever stagger using colossal swords. I've been trying to fight this dude for the past 3 hours and I can consistently stagger him in phase 1 with jump attacks. Phase 2 he just keeps fucking my shit up lol

I dislike that too, that’s why I also dislike how there was a lesser version of Godfrey too
Mohg left a clone of himself in the sewers so no one would notice that he escaped.

Beautiful job. Its interesting that the key to most bosses in the game is to STAY CLOSE.
As the old adage goes: "If the boss takes no sass, hug their ass"
Assign quickstep to any weapon is a dream comes true tho.
this just perfectly demonstrates how you have to literally be perfect to beat this boss with a greatsword
You really don't though lmao
Speaking from experience, just get glintblade phalanx and crit your way to victory.

@@chadiversity7326 i have noticed that as well, having a summon will change their AI into something much more aggressive and goofy.

question, when he puts the three rings on you and goes to his second phase what do you use to avoid that? Like I saw you had a glow on you?
i mixed the Purifying Crystal Tear in my wondrous flask. it's dropped by an invader in the Second Church of Marika on the Altus Plateau

You have to roll juuuuust right
very good fight man.
I start to realize the only reason I can't beat these bosses is because I'm really bad at this game
Youll get better. If you cant beat a boss, try levelling up or upgrading your weapon. If you still can't, then try spirit ashes or switching builds.

I don't know how you manage to dodge his stomp and sweep attacks, never works for me. You must have insane reflexes
I beat him, took a while. What level and gear level were you here?
level 90 with +25 claymore. i did a quality build

I didn't even get to see mohgs second phase cause he got ganked hard in my game.
