For example, the high end is hitler (assuming the allegations are correct) and the low end is someone who expects both parties to fulfill their end of a contract. If you weigh this 60% claim against these averages, it probably drops way below 50%. You should explain this to your co-workers and see if it changes their mind

I worked in Israel and the territories. This conflict will probably be the end of Israel as a democracy, not just the end of Hamas. Before the Oct 7 attack Israel had already elected their most right wing government ever, and it was thanks to the youth vote. The leftist Europeans that founded Israel are gone and every demographic indicator has been trending rightward in a kind of feedback loop since the mid 90s. In 2015 religious education overtook secular for the first time in Israeli history and aside from Jews fleeing Putin's conscription secular Jews have halted basically all immigration in. A succession of rightwing israeli leaders have sold out their nation's own future to abet a hard right wing that is now the fasted (only) growing Jewish demographic. They've all bought the fiction that no concession will stop Palestinian violence (never mind that Oslo offered exactly zero land and Camp David had nothing to say about Jerusalem or refugees. And they cant expell the Palestinians because every Arab neighbor would collapse under the weight the refugees, Egypt I think would go to war. Nonstop settlement during clinton bush obama and especially trump means there is no two state escape hatch. They've locked themselves into either genocide or legal apartied. Israel survives long enough to become Iran.

How and why Israel was formed and 2. What is really happening in Gaza.

The important part, that Nick is 100% right about, is that nobody cares. There was an Anti Israel protest that interrupted the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and the only thing people cared about was the fact that the parade floats were stopped.
Nobody cared about either side of the conflict, or the demonstration, or any of that, they were all just raging that their corporate mascot gods didn't complete their march down the street. There was a pretty good video awhile back that explained it pretty well. I can't remember it's name but basically a good portion of young people (mostly males) were exposed to completely unfiltered information. Between 1990 to basically whenever Zuckerborg took over. From liveleak to worldstar to 4chan etc. You were exposed early to the brutality of the world plus the unbridled gluttonous greed of boomer America. Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together could see 2008 was essentially entrenched corruption and irreversible damage.
The problem is most of us were too young to do anything except be cannibalized like Kronos eating his sons. But don't worry our administration met with the political party that killed the tank man, and our boomer leader called him a dictator in his dementia stupor. What could go wrong?
