I saw on Bug Farmers channel that he sprayed the water hose up in the air when one of his hives started to swarm and they came back to the hive. He said it's because they thought it was raining. I don't know if that would have worked for you, but I thought it was interesting.

If I had a hose nearby I would have done the same thing, it does work. The only thing I had with me was my cow bell and that works too. In case you did not ever see the video of me using it, check out the link below. God's peace Amanda.

Hey Jeff I removed a hive three days ago in Texas that was covered in the beetle larvae I mean thousands of them it was a very old hive possibly 10 years old the smell was horrible once I remove the hive some of the larvae was still in there how do I remove that or what do I tell the homeowner to do to get rid of the rest of them do you know? Thank you and God bless you brother

The only way I know to remove beetle larva that is off the comb is with a shop vac. Unfortunately, you will never get them all and they will continue to emerge over a week or so and the homeowners will be disgusted with it, but I really don't know how to get rid of them right away. @@mac243877 You certainly wouldn't want to use a regular domestic or shop vacuum. If you watch the footage you'll see how gently the bee vac collects bees - it's much lower suction, just enough to get the job done with a minimum of injury.
If it weren't the gentlest way to get the bees into a box, you wouldn't see so many beekeepers using it. Especially the commercial operators - bees are worth money when they are alive, healthy, and undamaged. A dead bee or a bee with damaged wings that can't fly is worth nothing. You won't find commercial operators using tools that injure bees if there's a better way!

It does make sense to have a swarm trap set up in your bee yard during swarm season. Remember, bees attract bees, and just because a swarm lands in your yard, it does not mean it came from one of your hives. God's peace Eric.

Oh my gosh, that's really bad. I've not seen what a full blown hive beetle takeover looks like. Ewww! No wonder they bailed out! Yikes!

What a long day. But this little hive in your care will one day become a great big hive. I imagine those hive beetles are prolific this time of year. In that warm wet climate it is their season. I thought the bees would be driving them off but I guess not. You got the queen and there will be new bee blood in the Abbey's bee keeping. Is honey anti fungal as well as naturally antibiotic?
God bless you Jeff and Charlie and Ralph (wherever he is) and your dear sweetheart.

Mr, i will try to take off my first hive in a week, from a farm. It is winter end here, i have the sissy clothes, and i will try to relocate them. Any tips so we dont have the bees dying and most importantly that they dont get back to the same spot?

There is a lot more than meets the eye when trying to do a removal, and I have been doing them for over 15 years. My suggestion would be to start watching a LOT of videos on the process, you will gain a lot of knowledge. I have over 500 videos and 3/4s of them are on removing bees from structures. Let me know how it goes for you and the bees. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

I like how the sound from the bees doesn't seem to change even when the footage and other sounds are sped up.
