Lol the date threw me there for a moment. I was thinking it's the longest story of all time, lasting until September but then I remembered that in the U.S. you guys put the date backwards. I guess the U.S.just likes to be different to everyone else lol

Renegades like us who have been down the rabbit hole for a while know the outlines of his story from songs, interviews, and bits he has told in other places, but this is the first time he is going into so many details about his health journey. Mostly because it is a very tough thing to do when struggling with PTSD from the hell he has been through. But here he is. Fighting to share so much of himself. Because he hopes it will help others and raise awareness. This is the Ren we know and love. An amazing multitalented artist busy working on multiple albums and other creative projects, yet he finds time to try to make the world a better place with his honest and heartfelt words. Thank you for this reaction. This is quite the journey he is taking us on 😢🖤🐰🕳️
I knew the majority of the For Joe song because of Ren's interview with Knox... but it sounds different now knowing the WHOLE story. It hits even harder. And yes, Ren's genuine heart is the reason I love him, I have so much respect for him. Thank you for reacting to this, I love seeing all the people he's reaching.

I’d even add another dimension…he clearly loves doing it, but he is also compelled to do it. He has to do it. If he didn’t do it he would probably die.
I had my first child when I was 29, and for about 12 years after that I stopped writing music and playing with my friends. Two kids and a full time job took all my time. I became very depressed, and it wasn’t until I was randomly invited to join a new band (and had the time to actually devote to music again), that I realized the source of my depression. I have never reached any real level of success as a musician, and I never will, but I’ll never stop playing again.
We have heard much of his story in interviews, but here, Ren tells it best, from the heart. He is a lyricist no matter the genre. This could be a book. He does not embellish, and he tells it so well. You’re right. He’s only just begun. He is unique.

Great thoughts about the difference in fans and reactors that has heard all his stuff for the last 1 1/2 yrs (or longer)and someone brand new. Ren's story has definitely filled in some missing spots in the songs and organized them in my head and gave them a true perspective.
Appreciate you posting this Zack. I know you don't prefer reacting to darker painful pieces, but you always say something meaningful and carry yourself with grace.

I just searched for reaction videos to “REN chapter 1” and was completely surprised to see only 3 reactions done in the last 3 days. We’ve heard stories about REN’s challenges in his music and what he shared throughout the years, but to hear him telling his story like this is powerful, brave, healing and inspiring. Great reaction and look forward to seeing more.

They are a tough watch but years ago he promised to do whatever he could to help people who were suffering from Lyme disease and auto immune conditions so I think he is sharing his story in the hope that it shines the light on these people and more attention and money is given to them.
