Yep, I definitely had to take a double-take when I heard your album. When you expect something pop-like and you get hit with some heavy hitting tracks.
I had a gay marriage song that I planned to release at a certain point which unfortunately was the week after that nightclub got shot up. I asked my gay friends how they felt about it explaining it was set up months before. They said it didn't matter and that I'd likely be accused of being an opportunistic douche. So I have yet to release it I hope the same doesn't happen with Virus. I bet its awesome.
Good call not releasing that! In my case, I'd say controversy comes with the genre. So far, nobody's complained and I think people knew it had been in the works for months.
@@Holistic-songwriting Maybe things are a little different where I live, but checking the dates, your song was out for a good 4 or 5 (early February) weeks before any isolation or lockdowns started happening. I know because I've listened to the album like 50 times and I remember listening to the first 2 songs you dropped while going on walks pretty often before any news of social distancing! :D
Awesome video ! The dramatic factor is a very interesting point indeed. It's always good to catch off guard your audience with something unexpected but it's also really hard not to alianate them with something totally unfamiliar. Balancing the too is always where I struggle the most.
You're so bloody inspiring. Love your videos and the way you calmly and simply explain everything. I've been watching for about 2 years now and you have majorly helped me progress with composition, lyrics and confidence in my ideas. Your audiobook is great too. Thanks for your help, my G! Keep it up... But I need more content! ❤⚡
Man you always help me a lot! I just listened to the songs you mentioned in this video and I love them. Specially The Virus. I'm gonna follow Canohead in Spotify now. Do you have any video about writing in english for non native speakers?
Hi, I've helped some other artists work on English translations specifically for songs, making sure they still fit the music, melody and make sense. I've been commissioned to do this over on SoundBetter platform, if you want to know more: soundbetter.com/profiles/122517-zephyrhillmusic
Hmm... I tend to write albums rather than songs. I guess I'll have to have a think about which section is the most displaceable if I want a single. I have released music before, so maybe the section should reflect what makes my new album special.
Tell me how to write a set!!
Love the vid
Will peep the music
first? lol
hey Rodane, you like Friedmann, too? haha nice to see you
