I had it in May for the first time, never had any jabs, either. My body felt weak for a fortnight after the other symptoms had gone. I was shivering so much the first few days, thought some ribs were going to snap! Was lucky to not get a sore throat, drank plenty of Honey and Lemon Water.

Glad you're starting to feel better. ❤COVID can knock you on your ass. The ear thing is weird. But it hits people differently, seems like in part based on where there's already inflammation or how your system has previously been compromised in some way.
Don't push yourself too hard. Rest up. 😘

Sorry Covid visited you, and glad you’re feeling better. My hubby and I had it in 2021 and we had it baaaaaad…me 3 weeks and hubby 4. I had the most god-awful headache, body aches, then moved to my throat. After 2 weeks, developed a stomach ache and everything tasted like salt (weird, right?). With my husband, it went right to his lungs and he ended up in the ER. His cough was so bad and oxygen so low. We get vaccinated regularly now.

You're right, it does feel different from any other illness. The earaches sound horrible. You still seem a bit under the weather, so you may not want to plunge right into your work and try to make up for lost time.

Being sick sucks, especially in the summer! My experience with COVID lasted three months, my ears were the last to get back to normal. Everyone I know who's had it started with the headache except for my brother who was asymptomatic. He only found out because they were still testing contacts back then, his cat got sick though, maybe Nala had COVID too. It's good to hear you're on your way to feeling better. 😊

I'd not had Covid either until this past spring when it knocked me for a loop. I did get three jabs way back, but no boosters since. Started as a headache, went to sore throat and cough, had one night of deliriums (mind was locked on one topic and would not stop thinking about it - something pretty stupid too - and could not get comfortable or fall asleep), finally a few days later that stopped and it was just a bad cough and feeling cruddy for a while. The real tough part was that it has taken me quite a long time to get much strength back and I work a pretty physical life so it put me back this summer on all the stuff I've been trying to do and I still feel like I'm not getting much stamina returning yet.
I sure hope you have a full recovery, take care.

Same here, got it in June for the first time touring Scotland. (fully jabbed). High fever for 4 days, short vomiting spell, no headaches though, just drained.
It seems to be hitting the first timers harder (which makes sense). It's still effecting me, no energy, tired all the time. My doc says it will be like that for up to 3 months.

I'm so sorry Rory...I had it last year and yes the headache was horrible and was really achy everywhere plus sore throat and stuffy head. It lasted about 10 days so I get it but you also have Nala in heat that sucks but this soon shall pass. I hope you don't get the long covid it leaves you with a brain fog and fatigue but if you're feeling better your probably good. I also had the loss of taste and smell but it returned pretty quickly and I'm also glad you're back I've missed a lot over many weeks because of moving but am finally settled in!!! TG!!! Well welcome back Rory!!!🐶🐾💕

    Rory
What a coincidence . I have covid as well.
Let me tell you my story quickly ...
Iam a taxi driver, 3 days ago i was fine. Carried many passengers. No problems. Then i picked up a couple from the tube station. As i was driving and chatting to them, i immediately felt sick. unwell and weak. Exactly like when i had covid 3 yrs ago.
Having been through this before, i immediately knew what to do. Went straight home, and my clothes straight in the washing machine and i went straight in the shower, without much movement or touching anything in my flat.
Had sore throat, tense diaphragm, achy and stiff body and fever.
Went to bed took cod liver oil and panadol.
In the mornining i felt much better, just a slight achy body, almost felt normal.
Went to work. Carried a few more passengers. Of course full mask worn and a cap. Hand sanitising, keeping windows open. Took these precautions even though i felt normal no more symptoms.
I carried passengers no issues at all. Carried a family from a hotel. Immediately felt sick again. Their breath stunk of covid ( i know, cos i have been through this before). Slimy air inside my cab from thier breath.
After i dropped them off the tense diaphragm and sore throat came back. Extreme tiredness and stiif body.
Drove immediately home. Did the same, i.e. shower, and clothes in washing.
Next morning i woke up i still had a bit Of stiffness and sore throat and achy body. Discomfort in diaphragm. But not as bad as the night before. Felt a bit weak.
It has to be covid. !
Iam telling you, those passengers had the covid ! But how can it be, when i have been carrying many passengers in last few months, and there was no covid !
I did a bit Of research, and realised there is a covid bug going around. And thats why you and many other people have got the covid, including myself.
I thought covid had gone for good
    But no !!
Looks like i will not be going to work for next few days. Not because iam not well, iam feeling much better and normalish, but because i dont want to carry passengers at this time, as most of them will probably have the covid.
And i dont want to be infected every day at work and then eventually find myself housebound, my health ruined.
We all need to protect ourselves, first priority !
Sure i will lose wages, but my health is more important.
Let me tell you having a shower with good anti bacterial gel gets rid of most of the covid from your body. Puttting the infected clothes into the washing helps stop it from spreading. And not moving around much and touching things also stops it spreading. Hand sanitise.
Its mostly common sense. If i hadnt done all this, then i now would be seriously unwell with covid, with covid spread everywhere in my flat.
    Not worth the risk.
Taking every precaution possible will save your health and your life.
I know a fit gym friend of mine who never used to get sick, but then got covid, didnt care to take precautions, now its left his lung, heart and kidneys damaged.
Attends hospital 3 times a week
Has little strength and is suffering.
Its a serious disease my friends and will affect your health long term. Dont take it lightly.
    Beware everyone, take care.

    • @JosephHuntelvisnspiders
      @JosephHuntelvisnspiders Месяц назад

You thought Covid was gone? It's here to stay bro, it's just a weaker strain now (Omicron).
Spreading it normally starts 3 days before symptoms.

    • @Baldrick_dogsbody
      @Baldrick_dogsbody Месяц назад

Just to let you all know , i tested myself at home for covid, using the kit i bought from savers a few weeks, £3 very cheap.
Surprise surprise i have tested positive. Been home all day. My whole body is full fledged bundle of ache. I cant move much, lying in bed. Took a whole load of chopped garlic in 3/4 'empty stomach, seemed to have worked a bit.
Drinking lots Of juice, eating red grapes, satsumas, apples, kiwi fruit. Sugar free ribena - you need tons of vitamin c to fight it .
Hopefully i will get better soon ! Ordered all this last night via deliveroo.
Wont be going to work next 5 days. Will go out and spray the whole interior of car with dettol disinfectant spray, when i get the chance later tonight .
Then wont touch the car for 3 days (72hrs required for the covid virus to die under normal circumstances).
Will only go back to work after 5 days, following a negative test.
Only problem is, its taxi work, so chance of getting re-infected immediately after !!
Will have to stop carrying passengers from clubs, restaurants, pubs, train stations and hotels. Only residential people to minimise risk of getting covid again.
Jesus christ, this is the one time in my life i wish i had a work from home job.!!
In fact while iam isolating at home, this is my chance to go on line and search for these jobs. My only chance. Even if its part time.
      I will do this tonight.,!!!
Take care folks. If you have covid eat a lot of fruit (polyphenols), and drink lots of water and juice. Lots of raw garlic.
Do not move around at home too much and spread it everywhere and to other people. It will go away, just hang on.
And of course daily shower if possible and change of clothes eveyday, only way to stop the spread
No wages for me this week then, oh well.

COVID comes for all of us, eventually.
I caught it twice, both times immediately after a trip to Paris for a week-long series of conferences and cocktail parties in 2022 and 2023.
The first time was very much like a super flu in my case. The second time was just like a one-day cold, but both times I had a cough that lingered for over a couple of weeks.
Sounds to me as though you might have had a sinus infection on top of COVID (i.e. a secondary, bacterial infection) . That can do a number on your ears and hearing too. My wife gets those from time to time (following a cold or flu). Her headaches at that time can be monumental.
Glad to hear you're on the mend.
There is some good news here for you too: catching COVID is pretty much like getting the jab . Not the easiest way to inoculate oneself, but it works!

Sorry to hear that you have been sick. Covid just keeps coming back as something new so honestly, unless you keep gettting boosters, you are not covered for whatever the new one is. It is not so dangerous now, but it does knock you out a bit. I had Covid when it first hit and it was in my throat more than anything else. I felt like there was a blowtorch in my throat for about 7 weeks and I couldn't even speak for three of those weeks. It did some damage and my voice is slightly lower in pitch now and there are some places on my vocal cords where there is no sound at all. It is fun to sing and suddenly get no sound at all then on with the singing. It is better but not completely recovered but I am learning to use my vocal cords differently to get sound most of the time, but my singing days are over I am afraid. With that said, I hope you don't have the same issue with Covid. I hope you feel better really soon, you still look a little down. Covid attacks our weaknesses so it can be different in everyone.
