Good job on the vid, this is the first vid Ive watched of yours. I was a little worried seeing the 17 minute run time but you were pleasantly concise and straight forward with the info.
Great video. Except i disagree on one point. Crit dmg reduction is better, than crit avoidance. Crit avoidance and crit dmg reduction are effectively the same thing, if you get them to 100%. If you don't however, dmg reduction will always help you, while with avoidance not at 100% you can still be crit with full dmg and get oneshot. And on top of that you can get crit dmg reduction with a hybrid mod together with armor, which makes it a far superior choice for defence.
As wirh everything this is context sensitive. Falconer, for example, has a passive that scales their minion crit multi with crit avoidance. Agreed on the 100% or nothing point though. Much like spell suppression in PoE
@@joejojo5966 it's a solid starting armor into early empowered monoliths. Eventually you'll want to get your crit avoid from the blessing + 35% from the falconer passive
Nice video, even though most of the mechanics in this game are pretty straight forward and explained well, I think this video can help a lot of people get a nice overview. You put up a good summary of the different mechanics and emphasized the importance of layers to create a tanky character!
7:37 correction on resistances! zuco meant to say physical penetration (physical resistance reduction; bleeds), not armor shred (armor reduction; direct hits).
Yes 100%! I think I meant to say that you can protect a little bit against resistance shredding effects by overcapping resistances, so thank you for the clarification for everyone! :)
Great video on a topic I needed....been focusing my character on all offensive stuff.....and while I tore through the mid game, I'm getting wrecked on bosses in Monolith and Arenas getting one-shotted....
Absolutely brought out your strengths as a creator in this one, mate. I came at you swinging in your last one, but you were exceptionally polite and receptive in replying to people, so I wanted to give another go. Night and day, brother. Much more concise, doesn't feel padded, and, most importantly, loaded with very helpful and easily digested info. I would complain about clickbait titling, but that's RUclips and you gotta play the game, unfortunately. From a nothingburger to a quarter pounder with cheese. Well done.
@@ZucoWoW You're right, it's not misleading or disingenuous, so it probably wouldn't be clickbait in a true sense - I mean to refer to the algorithm pleasing caps lock and exclamation point titling. I wouldn't go so far as to say you need to change that decision, since it's a popular tool because it works. I'm just complaining about the state of RUclips video titles 🥲
Hey man, your vids on LE defense and offense are pretty well and clearly explained like how a professional teacher would teach it lol. Like the way you explain things vs. others that are probably better streamers than teachers lol. Having said that, I dunno if dealing with all these layers of defense is actually fun? Sounds a little tedious is my 1st thought probably cus I came from D4 lol. Anyways, watching these vids after 90+ hrs in the game lol which is when defense finally matters.
Resistance shred can reduce resistance on a player by as much as 20% at 10 stacks. Marked for death reduces another 25%. This means the optimal overcap on res is 75 + 20 + 25 = 120%. Marked for death is common in some monoliths. It is cast by the Cubone looking dudes.
I have endurance question: Let's say you have 1k life, 50% endurance, and 500 endurance threshold. If you're in full life and receive 1k damage, will you receive -750 life or -1k life (because your life is not below 50%)?

So that one armor is amazing? That does 100% crit prevent?

3:40 There are many items witch make a % of your armor affect dmg over time reduction.

I appreciate it my man! What's clickbait about the title though? The entire video is about defensive layers lol. :)

Hey can u make one for the offensive stats
for dmg over time there are also 2 item bases that grant % of armor apllys to dmg over time + 1 experimental mod
Does block require a shield? I found a two-handed weapon with block stats on it.
good video!

The hit doesn't need to start below the threshold. Once the damage meets the threshold, the DR kicks in.
