  • It is fair to say that this guitar has forced me to think differently about playing electric guitars. In this video I am having an early morning noodle, worked out how to use a kill switch and along the way incorporated a brief spell of the Gospel song, Amazing Grace. Forgive the bum notes but I hope that you will also see the different tones that this lovely guitar can provide.

Did you have to do any work on your guitar to prevent the whammy from causing it to lose tuning. You were using the whammy bar in this video constantly and the tuning sounded great the whole way through. If you did anything to improve tuning stability with the whammy bar, please consider sharing the steps… Regards

Hi there, thanks for your question. I have to be honest, when I bought this guitar I was expecting poor tuning stability as I assumed that this was always the case with Bigsby trems. To my surprise, the tuning stability on this guitar (whilst not always perfect) has been mostly satisfactory and I confidently busk and gig with this guitar. The only problem I have had with the guitar is the nut which I need to get sorted for the slot with the G string, but for now a strategically placed bit of paper is sorting that out. I have to add that I absolutely love the wired handle on the Bigsby and this works really well for how I play versus the more substantial metal handles that you often see on Gretsch guitars (excluding Chet Atkins signatures of course). Thanks for asking and for watching my video!
