Paddy Considine as Viserys is like Sean Bean as Ned, both memorable one season performances where you're left wanting to see more of them.
Viserys is one of those people who's horrible at his job but you still can't help but like him.
But he wasn't as bad at his job as everyone says^^ As long as he was king, the kingdom was more or less at peace and stable. He didn't do any bad deeds like killing and executing people unnecessarily etc.
There is a suitable statement for this. the power that wants good but creates evil.
He did not create evil, but evil more or less created itself through misunderstandings or was fueled by other people and factors.
@@Fuchsfeueryeah but it still falls to the king to realize this, and to fail to do so unfortunately causes him to be a bad king. Just because blood wasn't really shed under Aenys the first reing doesn't mean he wasn't a bad king
Thanks for keeping us distracted during the show breaks.
The *MOST* effective way for Viserys to secure Rhaenyra as his heir would have been for him to abdicate his throne to her before he became so ill that Alicent and Otto were performing his kingly duties.
Yeah, it's amazing when he was literally decaying that he held on until the end. He just naively thought everyone would go along with his wishes.
I disagree with your choice of hand. He should've made Rhynera hand of the king to groom her for rule. This would've kept her close when he died so the Greens couldn't scheme. I think her biggest mistake was leaving King's Landing. Especially after seeing her Father in a failing condition.
Rhaenyra could've worked too, after Lyonel's death, but instead he made the worst possible choice.
Yes. He should’ve advanced her from cupbearer YEARS before. Having her as hand would have shown the entirety of Westeros he did indeed intend to keep her as his heir. Then, he should’ve abdicated the throne to her when he became too ill to perform his duties as king. Problem solved.
@@tiabeaniesemotionalsupportdmon abdication would've been the best way to ensure his plans were inacted.

It should have been easy firstly after the death of Balerion he should have claimed Vermithor and told Aemma to claim siverwing
2 He'd have made Daemon his hand probably that would have pacified him and Rhea would have had a child since she would have had to be with him in Kings landing and not in the vale.
Problem solved
One thing about Viserys is that he wasn't like most Targaryens, drawn to dragons. He seemed to fear the power they had.
@@reelworld1 I don't think he feared cause Balerion duhh.
I think the death of the black dread made him heartbroken and he didn't claim another dragon on that premise but what if he claimed Vermithor and Aemma claimed Silverwing
If he wouldn’t have said, that “about the prince, who is promised to Alicent when he was dying, maybe it wouldn’t of happened.
I think too some of that was confirmation bias on Alicent's part. Even Aegon laughed when she told him that his father's last words were for him to be king. Aegon responded with, "he never liked me." She should've seen it clearly as a dying man who didn't have all his faculties.
Videos like this make me want to scream because why didn’t the writers do this like 😂
Duhh. Tgru wanted this to happen
He was a weak king and an even weaker man trying to raise Saera targeryan come again, ofc it was a shitshow. King jahaerys was a good king and a strong man and he couldn’t even tame his mad daughter.
Ps. Inb4 I won’t hear argument that she was not mad. Stfu and read the books, you melons 🤨
