    Jillian, you were hilarious at 8:43! There have been huge amounts of kite surfers out over the last couple of weeks as we have been getting quite windy weather. Great job on the mushy sand, I hate it - Anne

    When were you all there? We were wondering when you were able to see flamingos?

      Hi Kim!! June-September in two different years - specifically, near Uxmal (the pink salt flats) and also Chuburna "marina" where you can rent kayaks. So beautiful!

    Jill and Jeremy, would you recommend using third party tours for 1st time cruisers traveling with young children?

    • @jillianandjeremy
      @jillianandjeremy  3 месяца назад

      So sorry for the delay, Casey!! The only third party tour company we can recommend is: www.yucatancenote.com/. We know the owners and have personally used them two or three times and had EXCELLENT experiences each time. The owners are lovely, Canadian expats who employ deeply knowledgable local guides who know all the good, hidden spots not consumed with people. Highly recommend - and please tell them Jillian and Jeremy say HI!!!

    Hay how would you compare the water clarity to other locations in Yucatan?

    • @jillianandjeremy
      @jillianandjeremy  Месяц назад

      Hey Wayne!! The water at Pig Beach is beautiful!!! Can be not so crystal clear in the main Progreso beaches, but still wonderful to swim in!

    Hi Jillian, I was wondering if you would recommend this place to move to woth family? My husband seemed to like what he heard but, since it's still developing - how much behind is it than other major cities in comparison?

    • @jillianandjeremy
      @jillianandjeremy  Год назад +1

      HI Melissa! Thanks so much for watching and reaching out! I 100% would recommend the Progreso / Chelem / Chixculub area for families. If you haven't already, check out the Progreso video we released just before this video, which addresses some of your questions: ruclips.net/video/pcO3J09kF4Q/видео.html Can't wait to hear if you decide to move there!!

    Hola!
    New sub here.
    My Wife and I are looking into retirement in that area.
    Where would you suggest if we only have two must haves?
    1. Bicycle friendly
    2. Beach life.

    • @jillianandjeremy
      @jillianandjeremy  3 месяца назад

      Hi Sam!! First, so sorry for the delay. Next, CONGRATS on your new retirement heaven!!! Definitely NOT downtown Progreso - unless you rode only on the malecón (which doesn't allow cars), I wouldn't ride a bike around narrow, populated roads. That said, Progreso's neighbors Chelem and Chuburna are more quiet and have both of your requirements. Best wishes!!

    Do you 2 speak Spanish? Im wondering how hard it is to navigate the area if you cant speak spanish...

    • @jillianandjeremy
      @jillianandjeremy  Год назад

      Hey Lizz! Jillian here. Thanks for watching. I speak "ok" Spanish, and Jeremy knows the basics. We know tons of expats living there that don't speak any English and do just fine. Of course it helps, but the locals are used to English with the cruise ship passengers being such a big part of their economy. You should definitely go!!! ;-)
