So we see season 9 barry stopping season 1 barry from helping his mom. In the background we still see fighting going on. If season 9 Barry is stopping season 1 barry then who is fighting RF?

Nothing pisses me off more than the idea that this season, the final season, the season already has way fewer episodes than a normal season; for some reason needed THREE filler episodes. Even one filler would be too much. I didn't particularly like the Red Death arc but at least it was trying to do something. Why on Earth would they write and approve THREE random episodes that do nothing for the story but waste space that could have been used to set up this final arc instead of jumping right into it. As much as I love this latest episode, it would have been better served coming after one or two setup episodes about the Reverse Flash and his need to ruin Barry's life, Barry going missing, etc. I'm still hoping they do something to pay off the "Flash Vanishes" story that was pretty much erased after Crisis, which the show had been building up to for so long with no payoff (I'm still pissed they thought it would be good to just disregard it completely after such a long buildup). Even though it seems unlikely now, if Flash actually vanishing and the series ends with Barry returning years in the future (I believe originally he came back after 25 years or so), I'd more or less be satisfied.
The Reverse-flash name was created in this timeline where Cisco said "Reverse-flash" and Thawne said that he liked the name. His original name is actually Professor Zoom.
I was just thinking - in 1x23 barry interacts with norra as she is dying but as we know from this episode, season 9 barry interacts with norra but she doesn’t know he’s her son. So when norra is dying and season 1 barry comes to her, she’s already seen the face and maybe that’s why she’s not shocked as to season 1 barry claiming he’s her son. Just a thought - idk if I articulated this well
My therory is because they don’t mention Barry in the synopsis that they’ll surprise us with Barry finding himself 170 years in the future as we see the origins of The Flash and Reverse Flash’s rivalry
he tries to mentor reverse flash but like rf said flash took all the glory. then i think cobalt blue does something to send him to where they were this episode and have that play out so season 1 can play out with rf going back to his time since eddie is no longer eddie
The episode was so S1 level good that I forgot Cecile, Allegra and Chuck were in it lol. I enjoyed the scene between Iris and Barry. The cliffhanger in the end was awesome. All in all this was a 10/10 episode for me, but now that I'm reminded of the side characters, it's a 9/10, still excellent, hats off!
Ngl I miss the old running where their bodies vibrate and actually looks fast and blurry, now they look slow and goofy, but some of the other vfx are very good
When you said "where was this quality the last 3 years" I felt that. Clearly they can achieve that but chose not to for some reason. The Flash is still one of my top 5 superhero TV shows all time. The first 3 seasons had a special thing going on with a great cast chemistry and quality seasons. I felt like they didn't count on 9 seasons and didn't know what to do after Crisis except change half the cast. Us "loyalist" carried the show to 9 seasons. Now all they have to do is surprise us with Cisco in the finale and everything will be balanced.😂
After so many years of cringe and trash, they finally gave us this full circle moment and a reward for sticking around despite the show losing identity. Not gonna lie, that last Thawne and Barry scene is really significant to me. Barry finally being at peace about everything.
Literally love how everything comes back for circle Also,Nora believing that S1 Barry is her son from the future totally makes sense now (in Henry & Joe's case:it's kind of confusing but it was just a stranger they had met so they probably forgot)
My theory for this episode is that there still is an “original” Barry out there. As Thawne has mentioned in the past things going differently, like the particle accelerator going off earlier or Crisis happening earlier as well. I think of it like a Sonic ring where he runs in and then is unable to get out, constantly going in a circle. But the loop is time and Sonic is original Barry and every time he goes around is another loop in the timeline. Not sure if this makes sense since I’m tired rn
It sounds like they always planned something like this for the final season but because the show is so popular, the studio ordered a certain amount of episodes, so a lot of the stuff before has been filler.
The only nitpick I have about this episode is that Stein should’ve known about time travel since he met the Legends a few decades ago. It doesn’t make sense that he doesn’t believe that Barry is from the future.
If you call somebody on the telephone and say personal stuff about them and also tell them you’re from the future, don’t that sound a lot like a stalker and a creep rather than sounding like you’re actually from the future?, if someone was like that to you , no way I’d believe they’re from the future, I’d assume they’re stalking me
@@saifhosein2103 Without the context of time travel actually existing it would sound really creepy, but Stein by this point has been taken hostage by Vikings who thought Beebo was a god, he also already knew he was dying on 2017. And we can't forget that the first time he interacted with the Legends they didn't even tell him they were time travelers, he figured out on his own and then told them the next time they crossed paths with him
@@gabrielmoreno4114 well I’m pretty sure the screenwriters forgot about all those occurrences with past stein so they probably didn’t know about this and also adding that as a detail for stein to remember would confuse a lot of people since people who watched early legends seasons would remember but like that’s such a thing from the far past that I doubt anyone would recall quickly
Even if stein knows about time travel, someone saying "i know about your research" to a famous professor isnt exactly that big of a personal detail. Stein cut the convo off before barry coukd say anything truly personal, which is pretty realistic given the circumstances
As a hater of the show since s3, but a lover of S1-S2, i agree this episode is really great, so i hope 4 in a row, as a great finality. But there is no way 4 episodes redeem this season, with the awful Red Death arc, or redeem the show itself being trash since years. I would agree it gives a great way to let it go, to end a loop of a great S1 with great finale series episodes. But considering the whole garbage it was (beside maybe 2-3 great episodes per season), redemption isn't on my list of word. If they are able to produce episodes this quality, why did we have so much trash until now? This isn't a budget problem, you see the quality in the writing for this episode, but the budget don't really variates.
Another thing I found weird after Barry failing to run back to his own time is the fact that he went to ask Joe for Tina McGee's coordinates. He could've run to the CCPD archive and looked for the intel or (if she lives in Central city) could've run through the entire city until finding her. And why after seeing the date, he suddenly dropped all of that. He knows it is the date where his parents will get killed and he also knows that he can't do anything about it. So he should've sticked to his starting plan to try to run back to his own time without interfering.
One of the top 10 episodes of the show at least for me. It does have some things that don't cleanly fit but nobody could predict where the show would go over 9 seasons but still this episode is very emotional and acting is on point.
3:34 Thawne with that intense as sh*t look is the funniest thing I ever seen. I bet that's the face he makes everytime he discovers that Barry has a new girlfriend 😂😂😂
The parents caring for Barry wasn't an issue to me as I saw it as them having that subconscious connection since he there son, Nora has two instance of dialogue to indicate some motherly thing she can't explain obviously without ever knowing.
Small nitpick as well, I wish in it showed when Nora was dying, her saying who are you and all that then saying “Bart-Bartholemew…Barry” her putting 2 and 2 together, this would have been amazing and I know this would’ve been basically retconning season 1, and I think that even if they originally did do that in season 1 it would’ve been fine, maybe we would’ve been confused then but 8 years later it would’ve been perfection. And yeah that’s a stretch because none of these mediocre as writers have any foresight and would never of thought of this.
To have consistency, you must have more than 2 point of comparison in a row ^^. If they manage to keep it like this for the 3 remaining, i guess it could proves miracles exist.
I can only imagine that we were theorising about an original timeline and the show runners were like "Wut? Where did you get original timeline from?" but that moment after all we watched for many many years, that was satisfying. Watching it from everyone's pov except for the Future Barry Allen that actually was there, constantly wondering what his POV would've been like only to have Season 9 start with Barry Applying for the job of Director of Central City Police: CSI Division and then this scene, it really moulds Barry from the Early Days Flash to the Experienced. Now thinking back to Gideon's words, he is the Director of Central City Police CSI Division and a Founding Member of the Justice League (i'm assuming that's what gideon said before they were cut off) and it just perfectly shapes him into what has become. He feels like the Future Flash but at the same time he feels like the current flash. The Flash we grew with. While I do have some small things I wish they did, with their budget this was perfect. The Nostalgic Music, the Season 1 Barry coming in to remind us of where he was and how far he's gone since then and getting our Barry to stop Season 1 Barry just like in Season 1 when I personally looked at the Future Flash stopping him and being confused as to why and viewing him as the Experienced and Future Flash. This entire journey perfectly moulded Barry Allen and it's been an honour watching his entire journey from start to finish. From Reverse Flash to Zoom to Savitar to The Thinker to Cicada to Bloodwork to Godspeed to many many other villains. I'm proud to have stuck around this entire journey from beginning to end. Until the next time I come back to the show. My name is Barry Allen. I'm the Fastest Man Alive.
The way I see it, Pre Crisis, the Barry that told s1 Barry not to do anything was the original timeline Barry, and Post Crisis the Barry that tells s1 Barry not to do anything is our s9 Barry. That's just how I choose to fill the differences.
This is what I think too. There is _officially_ and most certainly an original-timeline Barry who's mother wasn't killed in 2000 by Eobard, but it's very possible that, in the new, fairly different history of Earth-Prime, this original-timeline Flash exists in Eobard's original timeline, but he was no longer the one who went back and it was always our current season 9 Barry.
There was an original timeline. In that Barry became the flash in 2020 and remained active until 2024 when he died in crisis. Within that time frame he must've interfered with thawnes plan on killing his youngerself. The young barry that has grown in the current barry has not only disrupted the timeline since then, but with the crisis event merging earth 1 and 38 resulted altering history. The original timelne no longer exists, but current barry is one of the few being able to remember precrisis events along with experiencing his mothers murder 3 seperate times, knowing how that night plays out. This allows him to replace the place of the barry from the OG timeline while keeping things intact to not alter history more than it should completing his history making it come full circle.
Also I'm pretty sure Matt Letscher appeared in Legends, in one of the later episodes if not the final season, and he was a good guy. Don't really remember much of the story.
One "easter egg" I noticed in the episode that you didn't mention is how during the hospital sequence, I believe Ramsey Rosso's mother (Rachel Rosso) was there
6:43 I think there was an original timeline but the moment Thawne killed Nora it ceased to exist. In S1 Thawne mentions to OG Wells (before killing him) that he (OG Wells) created the particle accelerator in 2020
@@jasonnguyen2575 he meant that history books will now change because of his actions (I'm pretty sure history books will now say that particle accelerator exploded in 2014)
I don't think this is probably Letscher's last time as Thawne. We've been seeing those set photos in which the Reverse-Flash is joined by Zoom, Savitar, and Godspeed. Well, for all I know, it could be Tom's Thawne joining them, or Letscher's Thawne again.
no there was a point where there was an og timeline barry where his mother wasn’t dead when he became the flash but when reverse flash killed barry’s mother, this og timeline was completely erased and the episode we saw yesterday s9 barry taking og barry’s place to keep the timeline intact
People fail to realise this somehow ..this episode happened because Barrys mom dying is a very important event and like rf says a fixed point in timeline that changes a fuck crap amount of things . Which is why to make this happen and complete a loop Barry got teleported back in time somehow just to finish the loop but remember the OG newspaper article specifically mentioning the flash vanishes in crisis after fighting rf but that incident doesn't happen here which means there was a timeline when Barry mom was alive
@@lukecullins9934 yeah this is somehow many creators are not talking about the future flash who had his both parents alive barry even told RF to walk and let things be the way they are but RF didnt have any idea about killing barry mother because it was only barry who had lived that moment not the RF
@@maynardtdm yes people don't realise that flash was born before RF and when the first barry Allen ever was born the absolute first ever he did not become flash until 2020 ..the particle accelerator was launched by the real Harrison Wells but the OG flash which we never saw saved a crowd in distant future and thus stealing Eobards moment and then Eobard and barry fought which was the crisis event that the OG newspaper spoke about where they both disappeared and then ended up in barrys house to rewrite Barry's life ..if anybody ever watched Dragon balls z they can understand it better as a character goes by the name trunks travels back in time to change the past so that his future changes only for him to go back to his future and see nothing changed Except an alternate timeline was created .Season 1 of the flash was an alternate timelin in the first place which got altered again post flashpoint n then again after crisis on infinite Earth's but the fixed event of Barry's mom's death was crucial for our flash and hence in this episode he literally hot teleported back in time out of nowhere to replace OG Barry now and hence he completes his loop
It has to be. OG Timeline: Barry becomes the Flash in 2020 and travels back in 2024 to 2000 to fight Thawne. S9 Timeline: S9 Barry from 2023 is sent to 2000 and does the same events of OG Barry. What happened to OG Barry then? Those aren't the same therefore something changed. It's either a retcon from Crisis or it's a plot hole. Pick one either works. It seems to me that they changed it to where OG Barry never went back to stop Thawne in the OG timeline post-crisis
in terms of coming full circle - and yes, i know that he was erased, and that there's a billion reasons why not to do it - i would absolutely love to see a look at barry's perspective of going dark, and actually becoming the alternate darker version we never saw
The Barry from the original line comes from a portal and for some reason never appears and the Barry we know from the series has to impersonate him to form a new savitar-style cycle. If you remember the Barry of the future comes from a portal while the Barry of the series was already there long before, so the original Barry we will never see him and he will never appear
But, isn't it a problem to considerate the original Barry (coming from a world where his mother wasn't murdered by Thawn), was coming from a portal following Thawn? I mean the "portal" thing from S1, i think they just forget it to connect it for this episode, but the Flash in S1 doing the hand gesture and the Flash here being the current Flash are the same, not different ones. I think we never saw the original Flash in fact, at no point. Because the murder of Nora is a fixed point, so the Flash from the original timeline can't exist in a world where the current Flash exists. In fact, he disappeared in S1, forever, the moment Thawn changed the timeline and made the murder of Nora a fixed point.
Whats odd is the character of the Eddie Clone in the episode is Dr. Gilmore the man in the comics who created Cobalt Blue by kidnapping Malcom Allen who is Barry's Twin Brother and giving him to the Thawne family who raised him to be a criminal. Then when he found out his real origins he became jealous of Barry and started the Allen/Thawne family feud which lasted through to Eobard. So it's likely that this Eddie clone is not Cobalt Blue but the new avatar of the Negative Speed Force who will create Cobalt Blue.
Wait so if the Allen-Thawne family feud was started by Malcom Allen/Thawne, then why did Eobard admire the flash so much in the future before Barry time travelled to the future to take away everything from thawne?
@@r.rsmith By his time period he likely wasn't aware of it as in the comics he's from much farther in the future and the feud was ended for a time before being re-ignited by Cobalt.
@@StephenLeGresley I didn’t say you did just that it wouldn’t make sense regardless which only points out the inconsistencies of the writers of both the comics and the show respectively now that you have mentioned this after all
They should make barry go to timeless wells as he exists here (probably) or the normal wells and ask him to make the original barrys suit, this way we could say that this barry was the original barry after all, they missed an oportunity man, but still really cool
I think it made so much sense for it to be season 9 Barry and not the original timeline Flash. Season 9 Barry knew exactly what would happen and when, he knew to stop at the door and tell his season 1 self not to get involved, this original timeline Flash wouldn’t have known anything about that detail. It’s a small little thing, but so cool regardless.
It turns out the “Original Timeline” Flash, was in fact the Barry we have been watching this whole time! And the mystery behind his disappearance was explained as well! After 9 years that mystery has been resolved 🔥
There was never an original timeline. Nora is a fixed point, which we already know. And as presumed, it is in fact our Barry from the future, filling in the cicle
It's not Because the OG Barry timeline was never shown and the flash that we never saw never had his parents killed and og flash became flash in 2020 unlike our Barry who became one In 2014 .
@@chewwiezonyt354 I’ll be honest I’m not 100% sure myself. But basically Thawne killing Nora is a fixed point in the timeline it’s always meant to happen. The Barry that fights Thawne did not come from Crisis 2024, but he was transported there by the entity in the Blue Crystal. After killing Nora, Thawne loses his speed, Barry disappears (because of the blue entity), Thawne steals Well’s body, Season 1 events of The Flash begins, and the story is thus… It’s a loop 🔁. If it helps, think of Terminator series. Skynet sends a T-800 back in time to kill John Connor, and in response John sends Kyle Reese (his own father) in time to stop them. In the past, Sarah and Kyle give birth to John Connor, and the parts from the future T-800 were used as a foundation for Skynet’s birth. Practically both John and Skynet ensured their own existence by sending Kyle and T-800 back in time, and the cycle repeats
It has been a long time since I’ve seen season one, and I haven’t watched Flash consistently since Season 2. But I was under the impression that it was explicitly stated in S1 that Thawne orchestrated the particle accelerator incident so that Barry would get his powers earlier than he was supposed to. Thus Thawne altered the timeline when he killed Nora Allen, and stole Wells’ identity. That’s why people were saying the Barry from those flashback scenes was from an “original” timeline where Barry got his powers independently of Thawne, Thawne and Barry became enemies and Thawne tried to kill Barry as a child. It wasn’t a temporal loop that “always” happened. Even though that sounds like a cool way to end the show, that they clearly didn’t plan ahead of time
There was an original Flash as reverse flash stated back in Flashpoint, however the reason why we see season 9 flash in the start is because of the bootstrap paradox.
The "original timeline" i think does exist, think about it. The suit change is probably becuase its a different timeline. You have to remember barry has changed timelines a lot. So what i think is the original timeline exists but is not our barry but its a fixed point in time which from harrys explination in season 2 it cant be changed so something will always happen to make thay night happen
The last two episodes have been shockingly good (for The Flash, anyways). I hope they don't fumble the last few episodes, as I want them to go out with a bang.
What I love and both hate is that it’s not “that” flash but a different one. “That” flash is from a timeline where Nora lived. This Barry had his mother die
Very good episode. By far, it is one of the best episodes of the last 5/6 seasons. The episode was season 1-3 levels of good. Everything involving Barry was excellent.

The reason these last 2 episodes were so good..was bc it’s actually focused on the main character. The show has been lacking on making Barry the most important part and tried branching off to people we don’t care about. Hopefully they learned their lesson and the last 3 episodes are also focused on Barry and the best villains.
Love Episod 9,10 this season. The first half were pretty mediocre and that bad. Because I want that since the final season started. And that we get it, good episode!
In this New world when the thawn becomes wells, he knows barry in the future is not going be in pain so the part where he made the will for Barry and said he won't be truly happy is no longer valid. So there is a possibility that thawn can change his plan slightly knowing barry is fine with the death of his Mom. It will be interesting to see when Barry returns back to his time if there were changes made.
They rly should’ve named the final episode either *Run, Barry, RUN* Or *The Fastest Man Alive* Or maybe even *The Finish Line* It would’ve made the episode 5x times better
Other than S4 Ep15, where Barry spends the whole episode in flashtime trying to stop a nuke, this may be the second best episode of the series. The callbacks we’re done beautifully, the acting by Flash and RF great. It had a clear purpose and set up what will be the ending of the series. This is gonna be one hard episode to top

I think one thing you miss that tanks the Joe and Cecile scenes is the complete lack of chemistry the two actors have and the director's lack of adjustments to that. You can try and minimize lack of chemistry, mostly by not framing both actors in the same shot, but this show ALWAYS frames them together and magnifies it...
*No there's still a plot hole* In the original season 1, Barry and Eobard both come out of a time portal and the implication of the original season 1 is that Barry was destined to be the flash and it was NOT contingent on Eobard killing Nora Allen and creating the particle accelerator explosion. The season 9 Barry that is placed in 2000 DID NOT come out of a time portal with Eobard. Additionally, season 9 Barry is a flash that was created BECAUSE of Eobard killing Nora Allen and creating the particle accelerator explosion. Season 9 Barry placed in 2000, is incongruent with Barry in the original season 1. The two Barrys do not overlap and therefore there is a plot hole. They tried to explain March 2000 (season 1) using March 2000 (season 9) but it doesn't work
@shadowphoenix2328 Nope that's not true because Eobard revealed why he hates the flash in season 8. The flash that stole his glory is not the future version of our Barry Allen. That flash is the Barry Allen who was always destined to be the flash. That same Barry Allen who was always destined to be the flash is the Barry Allen that chased Eobard through the time portal in the original season 1. This means that timeline was not erased when the show started. Eobard's reason for hating Barry proves that the original timeline where Barry is destined to be the flash, is still there.
One thing ill say thought is that i think there was an original timeline Barry, since crisis happened years early, and since Thawne's timeline got destroyed in season 1, I do think the future Barry from the end of season 1 was a different Barry, buuut considering every single season stuff is retconned via time travel, technically the Barry we know has changed himself plenty of times and the "original" Barry probably wasn't the original anyway as im sure he time traveled too
Because of this episode, it's possible that the whole Flash vanishes newspaper could end up being mostly true. We know that Iris was pregnant right before Barry was sent to the past and Nora from the future mentioned that Barry was gone before she was born. We also know that Barry was putting dampeners in the loft. If they end the show with him actually vanishing then it feels like all the major plot points will finally be wrapped up.
2:30 its crazy that we even have to say that, every episode of a show called the flash should focus on Barry. I wish they would have cut down on the pointless side stories and focused purely on Barry

The newspaper from the original timeline refers to Thawne as Reverse Flash.

Just a thought - idk if I articulated this well
Maybe. That would also paste with the redo of "he looks like my father" from Nora in this episode, and "you look like my father" in S1.
This episode felt so high quality. My favorite episode since season 2

The camera work and editing in this episode was AMAZING, Holy crap
This episode was incredible I had full body chills during the fight and when barry became the flash that told younger barry to not save nora
After so many years of cringe and trash, they finally gave us this full circle moment and a reward for sticking around despite the show losing identity. Not gonna lie, that last Thawne and Barry scene is really significant to me. Barry finally being at peace about everything.
This was probably the best episode in the whole show. It so sad how they couldn’t keep this type of effort through out.

Fr the only part I didn’t like was the beggining since it focused on characters I really don’t care about besides joe
Literally love how everything comes back for circle
Also,Nora believing that S1 Barry is her son from the future totally makes sense now (in Henry & Joe's case:it's kind of confusing but it was just a stranger they had met so they probably forgot)
There psychically can’t be a “original flash” after crisis happened
This season will be redeemed if the future episodes are all solid
So 4 decent episodes and 8 bad episodes? Um no
As a hater of the show since s3, but a lover of S1-S2, i agree this episode is really great, so i hope 4 in a row, as a great finality.

Thawne with that intense as sh*t look is the funniest thing I ever seen. I bet that's the face he makes everytime he discovers that Barry has a new girlfriend 😂😂😂
Bruh that ain’t Zoom
@@ImTheReverse It kinda Is but not in CW
@The Last Caesar You should put Professor Zoom, because some people will get confused if you leave it as Zoom.
"It will be me Barry"
The writing is finally becoming consistently good again
Hahahahaaahahahahaaahaahaha
To have consistency, you must have more than 2 point of comparison in a row ^^. If they manage to keep it like this for the 3 remaining, i guess it could proves miracles exist.
Fuck. The previous and this episode raised my hopes so high then the finale came
I've legitimately not been excited about a Flash cliffhanger in years, YEARS. But this one got me.
I think the original timeline got replaced after crisis and thats why our Barry is the one with his hand up now instead of og timeline Barry
The editing in Khione's journaling montage blew my mind because I didn't think the cw was capable of that
I can only imagine that we were theorising about an original timeline and the show runners were like "Wut?
A bargain bin Cisco is the best way to describe chester
The way I see it, Pre Crisis, the Barry that told s1 Barry not to do anything was the original timeline Barry, and Post Crisis the Barry that tells s1 Barry not to do anything is our s9 Barry.
That's just how I choose to fill the differences.
Just... HOW was this episode written and directed by Eric Wallace?

It's maybe a doppelganger not the one we know

He probably didn’t make the story but the original show creators did when they first made it.
Bruh stop writing the same thing on almost every video💀
I think there was an original timeline flash but that was pre crisis and it was changed after crisis to our version of barry
OMG FINALLY PEOPLE WHO ARE SMART, OFCOURSE THERE IS AN ORIGINAL TIMELINE
They also mentioned bloodwork’s mother in the hospital, dr Rachel Rosso
OMG yes!
They also referenced Ramsey Rosso’s mother surprisingly.
After watching that scene, I am just teleported back to when arrow came full circle in 5x23 and that was awesome.
Also I'm pretty sure Matt Letscher appeared in Legends, in one of the later episodes if not the final season, and he was a good guy. Don't really remember much of the story.
Genuinely one of the greatest episodes of the arrow verse
This is the end of the flash. The rest of a new world is not real.

Could be a retcon cause of flashpoint or crisis, or even both, which might be the reason why the original timeline flash was erased 🤔🤔
The truth is most youtubers whose content mainly just revolve around the flash aren't really that smart to begin with
6:37 I think this is Crisis Effect. This isn't exact same scene from season 1.
It has to be.
OG Timeline:
Barry becomes the Flash in 2020 and travels back in 2024 to 2000 to fight Thawne.
S9 Timeline:
S9 Barry from 2023 is sent to 2000 and does the same events of OG Barry.

This was the best episode of the flash I have been waiting for this moment since season 3
This should've been the very last episode where he saves his young self and then returns to his family
Can you explain it to me I’m so lost I watch it like 5 times
There was never an original timeline. Nora is a fixed point, which we already know. And as presumed, it is in fact our Barry from the future, filling in the cicle
It's not
Because the OG Barry timeline was never shown and the flash that we never saw never had his parents killed and og flash became flash in 2020 unlike our Barry who became one In 2014 .
@@lukecullins9934 maybe after 2 centuries news is altered.
Maybe Flash himself alter it so that thawne loop would be complete
Even though that sounds like a cool way to end the show, that they clearly didn’t plan ahead of time
This episode shows that Eric wallece should have just stayed a writer seeing how this episode is one that he wrote is much better than others
The irony of the cw’s flash ninth season ending up being way better than the upcoming flash movie would be hilarious
The Flash movie is going to be amazing.
What are you talking about? Settle down cowboy

Felt like peak Flash. Like good old days.
They rly should’ve named the final episode either
*Run, Barry, RUN*
Or
*The Fastest Man Alive*
Or maybe even
*The Finish Line*
It would’ve made the episode 5x times better
11 years and gambi still leaves his van door open
Other than S4 Ep15, where Barry spends the whole episode in flashtime trying to stop a nuke, this may be the second best episode of the series. The callbacks we’re done beautifully, the acting by Flash and RF great. It had a clear purpose and set up what will be the ending of the series. This is gonna be one hard episode to top
Seeing Nora and Henry care about a random man that looks like her father tells me that they are very loving and caring people
I bet the writers wrote the finale arc first, then rushed the rest of the season because they spent too long writing the finales.
Episodes so far ranked:
10: 9x06 Good, Bad, and Lucky (Bad Flash episode checklist)
9: 9x07 Wildest Dreams (We should not have filler)
8: 9x02 Hear No Evil (This one is boring, boring, boring)
7: 9x08 Partners In Time (Only redeemed by Barry being in it)
6: 9x03 Rogues of War (Not bad up until the crap ending)
5: 9x04 Mask of Red Death Part 1 (A massive disappointment)
4: 9x01 Wednesday Ever After (A fun, very solid preimere)
3: 9x05 Mask of Red Death Part 2 (Sorry excuse for the 3rd best)
2: 9x09 It’s My Party And I’ll Die If I Want To (Easily the best at that point)
1: 9x10 A New World Part 1: Reunion (I cried)
I think one thing you miss that tanks the Joe and Cecile scenes is the complete lack of chemistry the two actors have and the director's lack of adjustments to that. You can try and minimize lack of chemistry, mostly by not framing both actors in the same shot, but this show ALWAYS frames them together and magnifies it...
You are the only person not ranting and Raving about this episode.
*No there's still a plot hole*
In the original season 1, Barry and Eobard both come out of a time portal and the implication of the original season 1 is that Barry was destined to be the flash and it was NOT contingent on Eobard killing Nora Allen and creating the particle accelerator explosion.
They tried to explain March 2000 (season 1) using March 2000 (season 9) but it doesn't work
That original timeline was a paradox and was erased from history when the series first started.
Imagine how amazing this season could've been if they just started here.
One thing ill say thought is that i think there was an original timeline Barry, since crisis happened years early, and since Thawne's timeline got destroyed in season 1, I do think the future Barry from the end of season 1 was a different Barry, buuut considering every single season stuff is retconned via time travel, technically the Barry we know has changed himself plenty of times and the "original" Barry probably wasn't the original anyway as im sure he time traveled too
It was the best thing ever, flash is back baby (in cisco voice)
when i was watching the episode i was like “imagine getting a drink w/ your lifelong arch nemesis?” 😂
I’m still bummed we never met the original timeline Flash
So that makes how many DC Crossovers written by CW officially?
Because of this episode, it's possible that the whole Flash vanishes newspaper could end up being mostly true. We know that Iris was pregnant right before Barry was sent to the past and Nora from the future mentioned that Barry was gone before she was born. We also know that Barry was putting dampeners in the loft. If they end the show with him actually vanishing then it feels like all the major plot points will finally be wrapped up.
Fully agreed on all points. Great video.
2:30 its crazy that we even have to say that, every episode of a show called the flash should focus on Barry. I wish they would have cut down on the pointless side stories and focused purely on Barry
If it was the season finale with a good extra 30 minutes of the original timeline being shown leading to the lightning strike it would be tuff
They saved their best for last and now I have faith that we will get a great ending to the series
9:44 he also said: Time to go home.
Just like thawne in the season 1 final
Wow, no complaints without actual reason for once. Finally
I honestly don’t care that the show went full circle and it wasn’t apart of the finale I am just happy that the show went full circle
