This is a quick and easy way to disable your abs on your V-strom. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for episode 1 of our Smokey Mountain 1000 trip coming next week.
Thanks for making this. I’ve seen his ads and been curious about the kit.
No problem. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it 👊
Thank you so much for this review! Appreciate your honesty and feedback. If anyone has more questions about the ABS switch kit let me know. Vadim
No problem. It's a great product. 👊
Nice and easy! I can't imagine riding down steep loose gravel or mud with ABS. Glad I don't have to worry about it.
It's not too fun riding down loose downhills with it. I prefer no abs pretty much all the time.
Greg !!!!! - This video is gonna help a ton of people !!! Great job !!!!
Thanks OBI! I hope it does.
Thank you for testing this option!!!
No problem. Thank you for watching.
Looks like a great product for V-Strom owners. Nice video explaining the installation process. Thanks!
No problem. Thanks for watching. 👊

Is it raining 🌧️ yet?? Fizzled out here, not a drop 💧
Another way to turn the ABS off is to get it up on the centre stand, start it up and run it through 1st and 2nd gears, and as long as the front wheel is not spinning the bike will turn the ABS off, keep it running and drop it off the stand and Bobs your Uncle! 🎉
Or just buy my switch 😐😁☝️
If you and timmy do a water crossing deep enough to reach that fuse protecter, i wanna see the video!
I wouldn't want to make that video 😂. More worried about it getting wet when it rains
JAY !!!
No issues. Half of your electronics under the seat is not water protected and no issues.
Hey! Where'd the ABS go!?!
Well damn, I need something like that for my 390.
Instead of me needing to press:
Triangle, R2, Left, L1, X, Right, Triangle, DOWN, Square, L1, L1, L1,-- Y, RT, Left, LB, A, Right, Y, DOWN, X, LB, LB, LB*
to switch off ABS, all I would need is ...
click!
S
*I also get extra ammo when I do that.
I've never owned a bike that had a bunch of electronics on it. It's crazy that you have to go through a bunch of steps just to turn off abs. This is simple and I like simple 😂
I might do that for your bike as well!
❤❤❤
Could you put bullet connectors on the wires that feed the spade connector in the fuse box so you could cut a smaller hole in the fuse cover? Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
That could be possible but I would try to keep connections like that to a minimum. I don't think there's a lot of current running through it but you don't want it to fail. You can always use the 3d print file that comes with this kit to print a new cover that is taller that doesn't have to be cut. Hope this helps. Thanks and thanks for watching. I really appreciate it 👊
well done product.. but i have a question... did you used a mini blade fuse to build the circuit? but the fuse box of the v-strom doesn't ha a low profile mini fuse instead? Just asking because i tried to solder the wire myself to a mini fuse an it was a pain in the a.... thanks
I did make this product. I received it from a guy on Facebook. I think he's name is in the pinned comment. He is a great guy and I'm sure he would be happy to answer that question for you. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it 👊
its a ready to use product.
Have you tried just taking out one of the abs sensor ring on either wheel to see if that would disable it?
I never tried it. Unfortunately I crashed on this bike a little over 7 months ago and broke my back and sold the bike the way it was. I have a KTM 990 now but my brother still has a 14 V-strom. I might see if he'll try that to see if it works.
Thanks all just disable mine all the time easier to pop the fuse in when I want it which is almost never
That's what my brother did with his. He has never put it back in. I crashed this bike and now have a KTM 990 which doesn't have abs
Is it possible to permanently disable the rear abs only?
Unfortunately not. It doesn't have a separate circuit for front and rear. Once you pull the fuse or install this switch it disables both
What about the 2023 800de??
It has this feature built into the bike from the factory. So no need to add anything.
@@TheBeardedGrump only the rear abs not the front
@@gabrielkopp2036 you could probably put something like this on it and just bypass the abs when you want to
It will probably work - let me know if you want to try
Mine stopped working after just approximately two weeks. In the beginning it was fine, then without any reason I could suppose, it stopped. Anybody got an idea what could be behind it?
That's strange. I would think it would be the switch itself or the fuse
Come si chiama questo kit, e dove posso comprare.
There's a link in the description for it.
I am really concerned about such an install. The circuit is rated 25 amps (meaning it is normal to see up to 25 amps on the wires and fuse will blow out if it is more). Now, the wires you connect are quite long and are basically an extension of the circuit. The problem is that from the looks of it, the wires are not 25 amps @12V rated, so when ABS is active and hard working, chances are to melt the wires and cause a fire. I think, for my install, I will go with a switch on a relay and ensure that everything that is 25 amp related is rated appropriately . Anyway, thank you for the video and info on the 3d model of the lid.
The guy I got it from has been running it for a long time with no issues but I can understand your concern. I haven't turned the abs back on since I installed the switch so I don't really have to worry about it. Your idea sounds like a really solid one and should work well. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it 👊
Tested with more than 88 units across all models :) - no issues with the wires!
@@vadimsedletsky9251 Can the kit remain the front wheel abs on and switch off rear abs?
@@Diver114 its for both in a vstrom unfortunately
@@vadimsedletsky9251 Ok... How can I buy the kit? Is it easy to install?
😮? Way?
Do you mean why disabled abs? If so because it makes riding off road more fun and safer in certain situations. When you're going down a loose downhill section it makes a big difference.
@@TheBeardedGrump aha, ok, for offroad ok, thanks for info
What about that beautiful bug though 🫠
It's my wife's. It's a 1968 standard beetle and she's owed it for about 10 years or so.
