The fact his Dad told him he had hired lawyers for an appeal which turned out to be a bare faced lie, AFTER his time to appeal had expired, just proves he wanted his son in jail for a crime he himself commited.

This is so sad and horrifying. This woman lost her life the her son is who was a child at the time was railroaded into prison. The fact a juror said ,” some of the other jurors were ready to go home “ is disturbing! This is a 14 year old boys life but they were bored and wanted to move it along ! Wonder how those on the jury would have felt if it were their life on the line , or their child being prosecuted for murder.

My thoughts on this is, why would he try to put the fire out? Why wouldn't they put his friend on the stand? VST is just like a lie detector test, it doesn't hold up in court. Why were they questioning a 14 yo kid without his dad there? Or a lawyer? No evidence pointed to kid! Seems as though the authorities were so focused on the child they just looked at it as open - shut case. So sad. I'm not a police officer or detective but could have seen the bigger picture here.

Please consider covering Natalie Jones’ death! It happened in my small town a few years ago and it is still a mystery. I’ve been asking several big true crime RUclipsrs to cover her case for years now, but no one really has. I think her death is very suspicious, and the cause of death was undetermined. The police speculated that it was a drug overdose, but she had a very recognizable hot pink car that was found off the side of the road three months after she went missing. If it was a drug overdose and she had been there the whole time, someone would have noticed the very noticeable car sooner (not to mention many people including myself drive past that spot everyday and did not see that bright pink car) Theres a lot of things that don’t add up, and her boyfriend is especially suspicious. My town just wants answers for her, and no one seems to be doing anything about it. She has two young boys who miss her and it breaks my heart that they do not have justice for their mom. #justicefornataliejones

We have a case right now in America... Karen Read... u must look into it. It's BONKERS how much coercion is going on in that trial & shes being framed by the Boston PD. Her 1st trial just ended & was declared mistral and I think they are amazingly retrying. ANYWAY, I was part of a discussion about it & the ONLY reasoning for anyone saying she was guilty, if they gave one at all, was she LOOKS guilty, she exudes B*TCH. I'll be honest. She does look like she might be a little disagreeable in life. However, it TERRIFIES me that's who they put on juries! What about the evidence??? As someone who has been to jail, these ppl can not understand what they are doing to these ppl lives. If u are innocent, unless there's some CRAZY situation, I can't see why you'd choose a jury over bench trial here in the states.

It’s really scary how easily it is to get wrongly convicted of a crime. I feel so bad for Michael. And everyone else who has been wrongly convicted. People spend years in prison, lifetimes in prison who haven’t committed any crimes. Someone shouldnt be convicted of something like murder because their lawyer is bad. Or just because people are tired and want to go home. Michael went through something terrible, I’m glad at least that he’s out of prison now.

I remember hearing about this case a few years ago when I watched a documentary based on innocent people that were convicted. It’s a shame that from the start it seemed that everyone “knew” what happened, ignoring any evidence that contrasted their beliefs because Michael didn’t have the right attitude. He was too emotionless one moment and then too stressed the next. Even the jury didn’t give him a fair chance. Glad he’s out now and I hope his mom gets the justice she deserves.

You should do the case on Dianne Downs! Nobody has covered it yet and it is horrific and crazy, you’d probably have to do it in 2 parts but it is one of the most interesting yet heartbreaking cases I’ve ever heard of.l

A juror has ONE job! Your duty is to vote on your OWN belief of innocence or guilt based on the evidence presented in court, not what someone else is trying to pressure you to vote. That's the only way the system can work

Not only is it crazy that the jurors wanted to go home after four hours it’s scares the hell out of me that I or somebody I love could be like Michael and have my fate in the hands of jurors who don’t care !! I feel so bad that he lost so many years because the police and lawyers didn’t do there damn job but that is seen over and over again.

    1. I second the comment about bringing back your earrings!!
    2. Yes, I think you should open up a suggestion form, there are some other youtubers that utilize it and it seems to work well for them!
    3. After all these years I still look forward to your content 🥹 hope you’re doing well girl!

10 minutes in.... he wasn't emotional enough so he had to be guilty....to prove it they give him a voice stress test. He's emotional enough to fail the stress test...but he's not emotional about mom...so he must be stressed because hes lying? this is insane. I hate how people judge other's reactions to crime to try and get a suspect. Shock, disassociation, hysteria (even laughing), and outrage are all responses that different people with different personal histories have in different intense circumstances.

This case reminds me of the norwegian baneheia murders! A guy was falsely imprisoned for 21 years before he was proven innocent. It's a very interesting case and I recommend it for a future episode!!

I don’t think he murdered his mum. His dad had way more of a motive 1) newly divorced no more control over his ex wife 2) known to be tight about his money and being forced by the courts to share it with her 3) cheating on his wife throughout their marriage just shows a whole lack of respect he had for the wife and mother of his children.
I think the dad has to have had some involvement and will have gotten someone else to do the final deed for him.

Hi Bella!, I love your videos and I have watched all of your MM videos!. I was wondering if you can talk about the unsolved case of Laura ronning, she was a counsler at camp cyauga in NY. My mom was a camper there but didn’t like it and that night, she was murdered, they had a guy but was indicted. I think her case is so sad but so important to talk about.

this made me so sad ,then MAD. I just kept waiting for you to say they went to trial and his dad and cousin were found guilty , how un humane to take away the life of your kids mother , but then to let him take the fall and get LIFE in prison he took not one but 2 lives that day . smh rip to that beautiful mom who had just finally made it out of a DV hell to make something better and it all got ripped away by a greedy monster!

  • @kerryfitzpatrick589

From everything presented here in this case, it doesn't sound like he is guilty. There were so many factors that weren't taken into consideration for this trial, so it wasn't a fair verdict. To sentence a CHILD to jail because of this underwhelming evidence sounds absolutely insane. So, on top of dealing with his mother's death/murder, he's had to go to prison for most of his life. This case blew my mind!
