    Thank you so much for this tutorial. I bought a loom a few years back and only started using it this year. I'm officially hooked. I love it, and I've just finished my first project. My own design, off centered triangles down the side. I backed it to felt. Now I want to make something else. Thank you for all the tutorials on the bead loom. Xxx

      ***** Hi Beckie, how did you attach it to the felt if you don't mind my asking. I just finished a piece and want to frame it but don't know how to attach it to my backing. Thanks. :)

    Thank you so much for making this video. I am attaching my very first loomed piece to a crocheted doll outfit. Following the whipstitch instructions was just the ticket. It looks amazing.

    Thank you! I’ve had two projects fall apart on me so far 😂 tutorials are so much more well explained than the one I found which I swear is from the early years of RUclips 😳

    Finishing loom work without a backing can be challenging because it's hard to weave all of those threads into your beads. It will really only work if you are using larger beads. I have a project in progress that will do this, and instructions will be up on Beadaholique's Free Projects page soon. Check back for the Hope Bracelet, project B1044, which will walk you through finishing a loom bracelet made with 6/0 seed beads without a backing.

    my first one was not bad my second i tried weaving the needle back through and my third i used this strategy. i thought that my third was the best!!!! also i don't cut the ends because the string i use stretches a bit so i re-tie it every once in a while. thanks for helping!!!!

    Great tips! I would just add that to keep glue off of fingertips when applying it to the back of your piece, I would use Q-tips to spread it around. You could also use Q-tips to apply the glue, or a toothpick (as you've used). I've also used (half) a bobby pin or cut the head off of a Q-tip to apply glues. You can get a nice, precise application using these tools - but using Q-tips to spread glue will keep it off your fingers!

    I put resin over loomwork in project R1005 the Summer Sizzle Ring. You can check it out in the free projects section at Beadaholique . com. The link for it is located in the video description underneath this video.

    My expertise is jewelry making, and unfortunately, I do not have any experience applying bead work to items like those you mentioned. I wouldn't know the best way to attach it to thick leather. Good luck, I hope you can find the information!

    Did you ever read the warnings on the E6000 glue? I use it but am a lot more careful not to get it on my skin or breath in the vapors after reading the tube. Just an FYI.

    Could you demonstrate how to end bead loom if you are making a bracelet and not putting it on a backing? I can't find anything on You Tube on how to do this.

    Any idea of how to put this sort of bead work onto thick leather (think of bridles, breast collars and other horse tack)? Also with it being on a horse there will be a lot of abuse and shaking on the piece, what would you suggest would be the best method of attaching it?

    If you desire to put the loom weaved bracelet on leather, should there be an intermediate backer before attaching it to the leather? Please advise me on this if you can & thanks for the video! It was very helpful.

      I've also been searching for an answer to this question.

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  8 лет назад

      Oh, good question! I am unfortunately not versed in working with leather backings so I am not able to give as good of an answer as I would like. I think an intermediate backing might cause the loom work to be too stiff and not wrap comfortably around the wrist. If you are stitching the leather in place then I think you will be okay to do it directly to the bead work. All that said, since I have not personally done it, you might want to do a little tester piece first. Best of luck and let me know how it goes!

    with my beading loom i used ten strings, so could i tie 5 strings to the other 5 strings and attach a backing?

    What is the maximum project length possible on this loom?
    Thanks

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  10 месяцев назад +1

      I would say 9- 10 inches max because you need to leave long enough tails at the end. That would be if you are knotting your tails and not weaving them in.

    P.S. - to add to the tips I posted below, as you're using the Q-tips to spread glue around, hold the piece in place with another Q-tip or a toothpick. Also use the Q-tip to smooth your strings down into the glue. All of this avoids getting glue on your fingers.

    • @ddawn23
      @ddawn23 9 лет назад +1

      Rebecca's Videos Wouldn't that just get cotton bits all over the piece? I'll take some unavoidable glue on the fingers over a cottony piece.

      Hi Esha, unfortunately we're not selling the mule-strand slider clasp that shows up in this video anymore. We do have a new style of slide clasp though that we absolutely love. Here's the the biggest size it comes in if you wanna make a wide loom bracelet like the one we show in the video's preview image: beadaholique.com/products/nunn-design-ribbon-cord-ends-barrel-33-5mm-2-pieces-bright-silver
