My father came to America in 1965 to works a sheepherder in Idaho. He learned his first English listening to country music on a transistor radio. He sang this song till the day he passed away in 2015.
Wynn’s 1959 song Wishful Thinking has always been my favourite. A few years ago, my daughter surprised me by singing it at a big party we attended, it brought me to tears, because I didn’t know she had secretly learned it.
No mention of my favorite record by Wynn (“I’ll Never Forget)Ol’ What’s Her Name”? It’s from Wynn’s second coming on Capitol in the mid 60’s on the old orange & yellow label 45’s. Written by Fuzzy Owen up in Bakersfield. Merle Haggard picked it up from Wynn and then Merle’s often opening act the Malpass Brothers still feature it.
@Frank Childs. You can do me a favor and check out the store I created. I am not asking you to buy anything. I just want to make sure the link in the description is working.
I played steel for Wynn at a show in NC...not only a great writer and singer, he was one funny guy...I will never forget his Gabby Hayes impersonation... memories I hope I never forget...
Thanks for adding this story of my dad. It's very disjointed though. You should go back and listen to it. The narrative should be re-arranged. It is not done chronologically. The years go back and forth. It would make more sense if it was told in the order of when things happened. I still appreciate it though. So many people do not realize what a huge influence he was on some of the biggest stars like Merle and Buck. He should be in the Hall of Fame.
Wren, I agree with you 100% that your dad should be in the hall of fame. Part of the purpose of this channel is to remind people of the great stars that time and fans seem to have forgotten. You dad defiantly falls in the category of a great country music star. I will review the video, bearing in mid your suggestions. I won't guarantee i will change it. But i will look at it.
@Wren Tidwell, BeachHouse, LakeHouse On the subject of the video I did on your dad I do believe that i can do a better more in-depth video. I won't change a thing on the first video but i will begin doing a new video on him starting tomorrow. BTW my name is David.
I remember especially his hit EYES AS BIG AS DALLAS. He has a way of singing it that makes it special that no one else could do! I've had the song in head the last few days! Lol.
Great video, but a bit of a sad story. I'll have to check out this guy. I gotta say man. It's really impressive to see you trying new things, adding merch, the logo, and working really hard getting so many videos out. This is the primary reason that you will always have my support. You're a great guy, very talented at research, and you've been flat out working your ass off. You WILL succeed at making this channel much more well known, as more and more people see what great content you put out. Now don't go getting a big head over my comments, my friend. 🤣 But all kidding aside, I think you're doing an amazing job Dave. Keep it up. 👍💪
Thanks Kevin. You failed to mention how I misspelled plummer. LMAO. As long as I do stuff like that i will always remember to be humble and kind. Besides I have to make up for my previous life. The one I lived before I met my wife. I thank you for your kind words. As we say here in the south "bless your heart." You always find a way of reminding me how lucky I am. I am lucky because I have friends like you. Even if the steelers tried to give the game away last night.
@@CMSProductions I think you and I are blessed for a lot of reasons. My son is coming over for dinner Wednesday for his 38th birthday party. That Steeler game was a trip. LOL. But honestly, good friends can rely on each other man. Besides, I'm to the point where I kinda feel like getting older is a real bummer. But it's better than the alternative my friend
@@BayouCouyon I am fine. Just bought a new computer for the RUclips channel and I found some bells and whistles. ie the ai voices. thought I would give everyone and myself a break. Thanks for asking. It means a lot.

Wynn Stewart will always be one of the country music big stars.(Brazil)
We love him too
He ought to be in the CMHOF.
I'm a big fan. I heard his stuff as a kid, and when I got back into the music, I discovered how much I love his singing.
His daughter is very nice too. She is a singer also. She has a channel on RUclips

Albie Pearson 5 ft 5. California angels
Jose Altuve second baseman for The Astros. Mr Franchise. 5 foot 6 inches.
Not a lot of giant hits on the Country Charts but when Stewart's voice met the right song no one could touch him.
True. His daughter Wren is a singer also and sounds pretty good and seems to be a nice person
@@CMSProductions True.
Most of his chart songs were top 10 to me. One of the true country greats.
Not forgotten
Not by us
Wynn Stewart died on July 17, 1985, 11 years to the day after one of Wynn’s great friends, the great Don Rich, died. Absurd. Surreal.
Interesting
Western stars were never promoted by Nashville executives .
