The emotion of Joel (1st violin) and the passion of Camden (cello) are paired wonderfully with the impeccable timing of Bryan (2nd violin) and the classic artistry of Milena (viola) makes for a very unforgettable performance.
@@cyvue yes i think they have improved by growing together just like a rock group gets better the more times they perform together. they also have something deep inside their hearts that goes beyond their playing.
All of the musicians are superb, but I must give special notice to the extraordinary viola player. This is without any doubt whatsoever the finest tone I have ever heard from this wonderful instrument. Bravo!
Oh you are amazing. Adagio for Strings is my all time favorite and had it played at my mother-in-laws funeral at a a beautiful Cathedral. Thank you so much for your beautiful talent.
I commented (on a different device) when this first came out that the camera work distracted from the music. As I have watched and listened over and over, I have changed my mind. The movement of the camera now seems to enhance the music. Assuming, of course, that perfection can be improved upon.
Genial gespielt! Musikalisch, ein Klangkörper. Bisher kannte ich nur die Orchesterversion und hätte nicht für möglich gehalten, dass ein Quartett eine Klangdichte hervorbringen kann, die der eines Orchesters in keinster Weise nachsteht. Danke!
Powerful - they are all in their prime. They did the same Adagio in 2015 but with a black background. It would be interesting to see them do this Adagio 40 years from now and how they would interpret it then. Would their emotions be different when they are older?
😱 Que afinação! Um trabalho executado com tamanha perfeição! Samuel Barber deve se sentir satisfeito e recompensado ao ouvir esta execução plenamente bela! Congratulations!
The layers of sound had a depth that made the music come alive in ways I’d never heard before with this profound and evocative piece of music. Music making of the highest order… Thank you.
Este conjunto me encanta, rescata textura y colores que amplía en forma impensada la estructura del cuarteto de cuerdas, felicitaciones, gracias por compartirlo!!!!

The original was in the dark, now this is in the light. It really makes your brain go to different places while watching/listening.
@@richardwalker9826 their vibrato has become a lot faster than in their younger years. Intentional I’m sure, but very different.

It's simple. I see Dover Quartet, and I click to listen. The emotion, the body language cues, the phrasing...ALL came together so seamlessly 🎵🎶🎶💯
This is absolutely divine. Thank you for this stunning rendition. As a violinist myself, I tip my hat off to all of you.
I hope I see them on tour in Chicago. So great!
Barber - Adagio for Strings is one of my favorite pieces of music. It was fitting they chose this in the movie Platoon. This quartet is fantastic.
Impeccable. Tasteful. I hear echoes of the 6th movement of Beethoven’s C# Minor quartet here, as it should be, and so much more, Bravo.
