He was the "Pelé" of F1. The guy went out, won 5 world tittles straight, without even unshaping his hair, then quit cause he was unbeatable and had no thrill on doing that anymore. Just a master of his art. Respect from Brasil
My mother chose my name after she discovered that Senna favorite driver was Fangio, and today, at 25 years old, Im proud to say my name: Ruan Manuel Rau
Juan Manuel Fangio was legendary. He’s got a winning percentage in F1 no one could ever come close to achieving now, winning nearly half of all of the races he was in. He was one of the oldest racers on the track, but his many years of racing experience gave him an edge few other racers had.
* 5 World Drivers' Championships: 1951 (Alfa Romeo), 1954 (Maserati/Mercedes), 1955 (Mercedes), 1956 (Ferrari) and 1957 (Maserati). * He is the driver with the highest percentage of victories (47%) in the history of Formula 1, without considering the American Lee Wallard (50%), who ran only two GPs and won one. * 29 pole positions and 23 fastest laps. * 35 podiums: 24 first places; 10 second places and 1 third place. * 14 abandonments * 4 constructors in 8 seasons: Alfa Romeo (1950-51); Maserati (1953-54 and 1957-58), Mercedes (1954-55) and Ferrari (1956). Basically while he ran he came out first or second in every year except the last one. Those statistics are practically impossible to achieve during any driver's career.
I was born in Buenos Aires to Peruvian parents, I was named after him. Even though I never saw him race (born in 1959) he will always be one of my all time heroes.
Hello, I greet you from Buenos Aires Argentina, I really liked the video you made about "el chueco" Juan Manuel Fangio, yesterday marked the 29th anniversary of his death. Thank you for making such an excellent video, of a person so loved and remembered in Argentina. Best regards, thank you very much.
He competed in 7 full championships, won 5, and finished second in the other 2. 24 Victories (47.06 % UNBREAKABLE ) 29 pole positions (56.86 % UNBREAKABLE) 23 fast laps of the match (45.10 %) 35 pódiums (68.63 %) It's impossible for something like this to exist again.
If there's a GOAT, he probably is it. Winning five titles in what were basically ticking b*mbs with four wheels, waiting the slightest collision to expl*de and k*ll you, moreover with four different makers, is an unmatched feat.
It sure is, what those early drivers had to contend with was crazy, and like you said, to not only do it several times, but to also do it in different cars, is a very special achievement 🐐
He said once: "If a pilot would wear a helmet, the rest would think he was afraid" You needed a lot of skills and guts to win in those times. No doubt was the first in history.
List of f1 drivers based on the number of championships they have won 1. Lewis Hamilton (7) 1. Michael Schumacher (7) 3. Juan Manuel Fangio (5) 4. Sebastian Vettel (4) 4. Alan Prost (4) 5. I believe that Nuvolari was faster, but he raced in a category that was clearly more extreme in both power and economic means available, virtually infinite, this makes a comparison between a grandiose era of Grand Prix and the poor F1 of the 1950s difficult.
Who should we cover next?
Ken Miles
Jackie Stewart
James hunt
i would like to hear about Alberto Ascari and Nuvolari.
@@diegolarrache We do plan to cover quite a few more including Ascari as we expand this series 🙂

He’s more Alfredo Di Stefano Because He’s Argentinian And He Conquered The 1950s
I always thought Jim Clark was the Pele of F1. Fangio is more the Di Stefano or Puskas of F1
fala isso não brother que isso mesma coisa que chamar um Corinthiano de Palmeirense
he was the Maradona of f1
@@cristian9657 Senna was the Maradona of F1. They both were in their respective professions at the same time

Es un trío de pilotos exquisitos. Fangio, Clark y Senna. Dos no sobrevivieron.
During their seasons in F1, 30 drivers died on the track. Such was the risk.
5 F1 titles without ANY safety features, not even a seatbelt.
He did have one safety feature, the steering wheel to hold onto.
It's crazy that senna died before fangio

Pele Of F1 Is Schumacher Eusebio Of F1 Is Hamilton And Ronaldinho Or Di Stefano Is Fangio
Good in his time, but that never makes them 'the best drivers ever'
Gracias por este video, muy bueno, muy interesante
