"we also need to educate the boys and the men" I've seen a couple of comments out there that seem to take this the wrong way. I understand where that impulse might come from, since in our current socio-political climate, words like "educate" are often thrown around in a condescending, preachy way, but I don't think that's what Gal is saying here and it's important to consider the full context. She's being very inclusive here. As she says, it's not just for women/girls but for everyone. Wonder Woman is incredibly powerful and capable. Sometimes when it comes to feminism and female empowerment, we see stories that don't think it's enough for the woman to be strong, but that the men in the story also have to be weak (or dumb, incompetent, etc.) It's this trend of so-called "feminism" that acts like a woman can only appear great if the men around her appear less-than, and I think that's a terrible message to send because when you do that, you're essentially still making it about men. The goal should be to write a female character who can be strong, fierce, independent, etc. regardless of who's around her. She should be strong in her own right, and not strong only in the absence of strength from others (i.e. men). I think of how I was "educated" when I was younger and saw Aliens or Terminator 2 for the first time. I saw women who were strong and capable, but didn't need to have their gender compared to men to appear that way. The filmmakers didn't need to put one down to raise another up, because characters like Ripley and Sarah Connor stood strong on their own. They demonstrated how a woman can simply be strong on their own merits, not only in comparison to men. This is what WW does too. WW is powerful, but the men she travels with aren't pushovers and are capable in their own right. Not only does the WW film NOT feel the need to denigrate the male characters, but WW as a character actually builds positive relationships with them. She encourages them, sometimes challenges them because of her own values and beliefs, but ultimately she seeks to uplift and inspire the people around her - both women AND men. And just as WW positively impacts the people around her, so does she earn respect and admiration from us as the viewers - both women AND men. If this is the type of heroism and empowerment that Gal wants men, women, boys and girls to be educated on then I say sign me up. Can't wait for June 5th! I'll be there day one.
Most likely the most underrated comment here! I am a man and Princess Diana of Themyscira is in my holy trinity of strong female characters, along side of Ahsoka Tano and Alita. All three of them are important to me. I connected and cared about them. I liked what you said about WW building positive relationships with men because I feel like today in most forms of entertainment there is little to no mutual respect between characters, specifically males and females. If a "feminist" thinks the right way to have a strong female lead is to degrade, shame, humiliate, and emasculate men, then they're not a feminist at all. How can we achieve equality if we tear down one gender in order to put another on a pedestal?
All Feminists are inclusive all she is echowing is basically the opinions of Majority of Feminists even people Like Brie Larson. Thank you Patty for shooting movie ni real locations, modern films shooting only in green screen not only in superhero movies but also in those films where this is not required, you are just great, your whole team !!!
Patty, you had me at as much practical effects as we could get away with. This is the same direction that the Russo brothers did in Winter Soldier and went on to try to do in the later films they directed for Marvel. It’s also the direction Fury Road went, it was mostly all practical.
Yes! CGI is good, fantastic even when done right. But over relying on it can be a big setback. Meanwhile, with practical effects, there's just something special about it. The fact that its actual objects or people doing crazy stuff, is awesome! Really mind blowing what they can do with that stuff. Now I'm even more hyped for this movie! 😁👍👍
Is that so? Were the fight scenes more cgi (like more like the first wonder woman movie) before winter soldierv cos i much prefer mcu fight scenes over dc fight scenes due to them looking less cgi, and more practical and real.
When I first saw her as wonder woman I had my doubts. She looked weak and meek but now i have no doubts. It's a masterstroke to cast her. Her smile is enough to sail a thousand ships.
I can’t wait to watch this movie. The scenes were shot in Landmark Mall in Alexandria VA a place where I used to shop ( now is closed for good )and more scenes from Washington DC. I love Gadot as Wonder Woman. I am a huge fan of this superheroe.
Same here, there’s an exotic quality about her that I love, must be the accent and that naïveté she brings to interviews, you get the feeling she still can’t believe this is all happening to her
Her inner beauty radiant to the outside and that makes her more beautiful if it even possible! This is so special and unick in this industry and it's so fresh to see and I'm so happy for her just being the roll model not only on screen but especially off screen! She's amazing in all aspects 💙

You should actually listen to watch she says. She talking about the importance of Feminism is to educate Men on the issues to show Females can hold these parts
Yes, she is beautiful. Yes, she is talented. But the best thing about Gal is her charm. She just has this sort of down-to-earth-charisma and a smile that makes one instantly like her.
I totally geeked out when she threw her tiara! Please have her spin to turn in to Wonder Woman! She embodies the sweetness and compassion every bit as much as Lynda Carter did in the late 70s series. Who ever chose Gal was spot on. Thank you so much for choosing someone who truly is a Wonder Woman!
I maybe a 90’s baby but I am a bit of a sucker for 80’s pop culture once in a while. I love 80’s movies and music. And I’m glad Gal and I have something in common. We are not easy cryers. I loved the original Wonder Woman movie. And 1984 is one of my most anticipated movies of 2020. I love the armor, the romantic reunion and the trash can joke. Please be sexy and badass forever Ms Gadot
I love Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins! Perfect casting who ever casted Gal and Patty did a phenomenal job bringing emotions into the first movie. I love that the 1984 spin to it and Patty's homage to the old superman movies and Linda Carter's peak popularity.
We need more women directors in action or comic book movies. I like Patty's approach of using practical effects augmented by CGI. It feels more natural.
Anonymous sorry but if you want a good look at female comedians, just check TikTok. The gender split is probs equal on that app! Seriously though, i can’t see why women are worse than men. It may be (and not you per se) some seeing it through a sexist lens which demeans them in their eyes, even if it’s unconscious.
The way she talks about the emotional impact of watching the trailer made me tear up honestly. If you're well represented in movies, especially in the superhero genre, it can be hard to understand just how much of an impact seeing a superhero who looks like you can have. Seeing her do all of these superhuman feats and being awe-inspiring and heroic, it's like it activates a different part of my brain then when I see Superman or Thor or Iron Man do the same. It's liberating and exhilarating and difficult to describe, but I'm so happy she understands the gravity of her role, because I can't tell you the emotional impact the first movie and now this trailer have had on me as a girl trying to find her way in the world.
I love whenever Gal uses English in a way that clearly shows that it is not her first language (when she says "touch wood" instead of "knock on wood"). I find it adorable!! Overall, she conveys such sweetness, such warmth, such radiance. She is certainly a perfect match for the character of Wonder Woman. Whoever decided that she was going to play the amazing amazon needs a fricking award.
I'm a Brit I always say touch wood as opposed to knock on wood, even though that is truer to it's pagan meaning to silence the wood dwelling mean spirits for luck. ;)

2:59 her "not this bullshit again" body language is fantastic, followed by a perfect response to narrow-minded questioning
Mmh.. Maybe that's the reason why take the Winter Soldier more seriously than most MCU movies
Is that so? Were the fight scenes more cgi (like more like the first wonder woman movie) before winter soldierv cos i much prefer mcu fight scenes over dc fight scenes due to them looking less cgi, and more practical and real.
When I see GalGadot I clicks
Rachel Smith was a fantastic interviewer. Charismatic, engaging, and insightful.
I’ve missed seeing her performances. She’s been away too long!
Gal Gadot is beautiful...
Michael Sinclair Luckily seeing her voice in Ralph Breaks The Internet filled the void
I love Gal Gadot! She is so beautiful and has an amazing personality. So excited about this movie
She's the most beautiful actress in the world. She is like the Mona Lisa of Hollywood.
That soundtrack is awesome..
I m from india
Cartoon wonder woman was my childhood crush..
Gal gadot is perfect for this role..
Her smile is awesome
I have such a crush on Gal. I can’t even quite put my finger on it but, wow..
She's very charming!!!
Pizza Time Shes beautiful but i am not older woman type like when i was younger
Same here, there’s an exotic quality about her that I love, must be the accent and that naïveté she brings to interviews, you get the feeling she still can’t believe this is all happening to her
Same here but my chances of attracting her are so low humanity has not discovered the number yet
@@manuelorozco7760 she's only 34!!!! Hahaha and she's good looking
She’s a Goddess!!
Gal is gorgeous. Perfect pick for Wonder Woman.
100% agreed
Yesssssssssss💖💖💖💖💖
Her inner beauty radiant to the outside and that makes her more beautiful if it even possible! This is so special and unick in this industry and it's so fresh to see and I'm so happy for her just being the roll model not only on screen but especially off screen! She's amazing in all aspects 💙
This trailer is so badass! I want to see this movie now!
OMG Gal Gadot is so gorgeous...
💛😊✌️
And unlike many other celebrities, she's stayed humble and down to earth and hasn't let fame go to her head or get a big ego.
@@rachelarmel7547 Let's hope the fame doesn't spoil her.
patty jenkins really took the time, really put a lot of thoughts and aspiration to make ww84 a great movie. hearing her talk about how they approached the movie in terms of production, the action sequences, the story, etc, patty is just genuinely want to make a great movie, she genuinely loves wonder woman. i am excited to see that comes to life when the movie comes out.
Bdon Weirdon I do hope it is a great movie. I loved the first one and I have moderate expectations
That's why I like Gal Gadot, she talks about empowering women and men, learn from this Kathleen Kennedy
So true !
So fresh to see someone like her and I'm so glad she is going to be a roll model for young kids 💜
You should actually listen to watch she says. She talking about the importance of Feminism is to educate Men on the issues to show Females can hold these parts
I can't wait !! It's coming out on my birthday and I'm celebrating by seeing it on that day !!
Gal is just, WOW, i don't have words
This is one Beautiful Woman........Her smile, her eyes, her humor. God had a good day when made this one.
Damn, Gal is absolutely gorgeous and kicks ass as wonder woman..
Glad shes back! She deserves the role! Gal gadot is sooo down to earth i love her
Yes, she is beautiful.
Yes, she is talented.
But the best thing about Gal is her charm. She just has this sort of down-to-earth-charisma and a smile that makes one instantly like her.
And that's what's makes her unick in this industry 💜
We can't imagine anyone but Gal Gadot only as WW. She is both amazing and kind in her approach. She acts for real and never fakes.
I can't stop looking at her, & when she smiles, oh I'm dead🤪
“Knock wood “ love her - can’t wait for another adventure with Diana.
I absolutely love and respect both these women. Patty is a fantastic filmmaker.
Gal, still the most beautiful woman, so natural and talented actor. Beautiful model. Much love
It's not everyday you'd seen celebrities react to their own movie trailers. 🙂
Yep and not today either.
@@jaxr2958 LOL honestly a disappointment, like what's with the title?
YES! That's amazing actually to hear that!
Good warning to bring tissues to the movie 😅
Gotta love how the interviewer tried to set up Gal for a feminist promotion and she shut it and the narrative down expertly
She’s the most beautiful woman in the world 🌎
When the director said she wanted not a bleeding edge tech movie, but a great movie, it got me excited
2:41 Gal Gadot looked right at me!
subaru [RATED] same
A dream💜
My heart froze when she stared at me
I totally geeked out when she threw her tiara!
LBlush I only saw the OG Superman movie and i got to watch the WW TV series
"Obrigada" AAAAAAAAAAA eu te amo, Gal!
I just noticed that we have 2 beauty queens here. Miss USA 2007 Rachel smith and Miss Israel 2004 Gal Gadot
Remember one thing. Zack started all this . perfect cast members , realistic comic universe.
That dress she's wearing is giving me life! ❤️
She is beautiful on the outside. But the inside makes her shine even more. Is that even possible!?
Well, the first one did make me cry so I am betting this one will too! I cannot wait!
We need more women directors in action or comic book movies. I like Patty's approach of using practical effects augmented by CGI. It feels more natural.
Syamin Musa Jennifer Lee should take time off from Disney for the job
Bird of prey director is girl
@Anonymous awful how? There are tons of female comedians & directors
Anonymous Its a game of scale. The more Women we have in these vocations, the more likely we are to discover good ones.
Awe she's so charismatic and charming!!! ♥️♥️
she looked at the camera for a split second and i almost fell of my chair. What a goddess
The first one surprised me. Now I'm expecting a great movie and the trailer hints that it will be.
I'm a Brit I always say touch wood as opposed to knock on wood, even though that is truer to it's pagan meaning to silence the wood dwelling mean spirits for luck. ;)
This is how you make a movie like this. Not bashing men or others, but making an experience for all where the main character happens to be a woman
And in the end, is that too much to ask for? A good movie, with No Agenda or putting anyone down, anime character happens to be a female
WoW these woman have nailed it, i respect and appreciate how they say its a movie for all ,they are not afraid to include men. These are the type of women men are drawn to we like strong women but you dont have to beat a man down to achieve it. This is who my little girl will grow up to idolise in film and gal and patty as real women ! Thanks ladies for doing something different we want more strong women like this.
Really love movies with strong women who are not toxic feminists!
0:53 ok, that is just adorable....
On a side note, she is the perfect casting choice, they litterally could have not done better.
Too perfect for the role.
She did an amazing job in the first film. I cant wait to see this one. Chris Pine was great too.
