"Pick of the Day" - 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard and Magnatone Super15

- Today Trevor picked out an insane 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard Burst that is not only beautiful, but can be had at quite a lower price than a lot of others! A neck repair, replaced nut, and a few finish touchups can't stop this guitar from being an amazing player with great tone! Paired up with a brand new Magnatone Super Fifteen amplifier and put into the hands of Ian Crawford, we've got a really special rig!
For more information about the guitar and amp, please check out:

Music: Timothy Robert Graham "I'm on Your Side" (Instrumental)
I like that "imperfect" flame on the top side between the pickups. Cool!
Just bought a Magnatone Super FiftyNine M-80 and the tone is unreal. I think this Super 15 would have been even smarter considering how loud the M-80 is, can't get it above 2 without offending the neighbors. Either way, these guys are making extremely impressive amps for the money. You will not be disappointed. The guitar is beautiful as well....
Unbelievably beautiful! No slagging here. I love it, break or no break.
Those Magnatone amps are the real deal!
Neck binding is funky looking.
Nice playin brother…..and love the gear!!!!
Great playing and awesome sound!! But wait a minute, 198K for a broken neck guitar? Has the world gone completely mad?!
Krook71 many ,many moons ago
Some dope will buy it, get buyers remorse and then sell it at a loss. Don’t worry.
It doesn't matter if it's a broken neck guitar or not. It's still a vintage 'Burst era Les Paul Standard. There were only so many of them made. They are literally the Stradivarius of electric guitars. So while a broken neck LP will certainly reduce its value (lest it be from the collection of a famous guitarist), it will never bring it into an affordable range.
@@daveduffy2823 I doubt they will sell it at a loss.
The inventory at this shop is insane
Definitely. This, plus THREE Broadcasters!
They’re the reason Norms Rare Guitars continues their guitar of the day Tele Tuesday drought. My ‘53 Tele is not selling to Norms either. It is NFS.
...and so, there it is !!
Cool video, but "upgrading to a '59" sounds pretty silly. At that level, those vintage bursts are all great.
200 large for a broken headstock 2 years ago? Testing 1 2 3
That does sound incredible.
What a lovely guitar and sound! Great..thanks
Awesome guitar!
I’d love to hear more playing from your videos
Bonamassa must own it by now...
as always great video!
Damn, like the way you rock on that gibson
SOUNDS!
I’ll take it !
Oh wait ... I have to sell my house first. I’ll get back to you
I would own it broken neck or not gorgeous guitar
"Villanova Junction" by Jimi Hendrix?
played 40 or 50 bursts he said, I wish i could lost track on how many burts i've pleyed......
i want the amp :-)
This one has a great tone for professional musicians it should be on stage playing delta blues real loud...
Fun fact: Antonio Stradivari actually did make guitars also
Emerald city guitars, amazing gear talented playing quality video work and sound. TOO. MUCH. TALKING.
God I love them bursts but all I've got is a chibson burst, still good but I would fuckin kill for a burst like these
Trevor our of the 50+ burst you’ve played which is your fav?
I'd give it some more mid and treb. The bridge pick up sounded a little dull IMHO.
I always wanted a magnatone but they're a lot harder to find on the east coast
Matt Bortz Sweetwater
you can also buy them here in Ontario Canada but there pricy, I got the varsity reverb best amp ever played.@@w1third
Jimmy Page is not a "Sir" if you meant it in the sense that he's been knighted, as he hasn't.
Will all due respect - any neck damage on a guitar should render the price much much lower.
Average on theses are between 3.8to 4.5 kg. So why suddenly all these oldies are light?
As a 65 year old guitarist who has owned played almost every one of these so called " Holy Grail" guitars could you please tell me what Mojo is?
Martin Reid it's like juju ,the only thing it requires is a soul
Mojo equates to.. it must be good everyone says so and look how expensive it is...utter bullshit
Mojo is the burn you feel in your pocket after paying 200k for a guitar. 😂
Vintage vibe that only comes from playing. Mojo=natural wear and tear that happens to any guitar other than a case queen. Fake wear on brand new reissues or those replicas of this rock star or that one’s iconic guitar is not real mojo.
your right on my les paul tribute sounds almost a good.@@grahampye9353
Wow... Sounds like........ a Les Paul...........
A absolutely superb one
@@amritjanardhanan what makes it "superb"?? Because this company tells us it is? Hyperbole and you bit....
Rosewood or ebony board?
Bullshit is free!
uummm pretty guitar
How do those amps sound with a p90s les paul?
I want it.
I would love to see the pic of Jimmy Page with that Les Paul
Jimmy was naked when that photo was taken, that's why the couldn't just openly show it here.
Montag Alexis that’s beautiful

Broken-neck Gibsons are a trend, huh?
wayback playback almost as much a trend as being too witty
gus dupree, glad to see you're OK after choking on that sausage...
you too can be cool with the broken MOJO :-)
After 66 years, they should be able to figure it out. Just saying.
I have 5 guitars that I will drop flat from 10 feet up and I guarantee no broken headstocks.

Sounds like any les paul I can get at guitar center right now, a lot of this myth building is ridiculous 🙄
Upgrading for a 59? Hahaha. Daaamn
all these salesmen buzzwords in reference to this guit. superwow
I very much prefer either of my Music Man Silhouettes. I have a 1998 Swamp Ash body translucent turquoise and a 2002 Alder solid black. Both have maple fingerboards and both are hard tails. '60 Les Paul Standard the "Stradivarius" of guitars? Get Real. I have owned a few LPs over the years. My favorite was a '73 Deluxe but not good enough to keep. Had a Gold Top that I got from George Gruhn in Nov. '71. Had a '59 Sunburst too. I will never sell my Silhouettes. I traded Les Pauls for the Silhouettes. I wish that I had kept a Strat Ultra and an an American Standard Tele. Both were really nice Fender guitars. None of the Gibsons or Fenders compare to my Music Man guitars though. As for tone my Silhouettes are more than equal to any LP or Fender. As for amps I do have an older Peavey Delta Blues 15" that is a killer tone monster but I play a Roland Blues Cube Artist 212. No maintenance and killer tone. I have a few Blue Cubes. They are ass kicking tone monsters.
Listen.im not hearing anything.no but you would if it were plugged in
-1 point for wearing Griffey's hat the wrong way. ;)
Seemed more like an ad to sell the guitar than anything else.....
Mark P well their business model is to sell guitars and amps..
Silly prices for an electric guitar. Next.....
Why that touch up? Looks gross
Too much talking and too much soloing ! Come on!! We want to hear chords and a broader range of sounds from the amp too
Very beautifull. But the sound didin´t impressed me. Maybe the amp? Sounds a very generic Les Paul.
It’s not good enough for Jimmy Page or he would’ve bought it.
There are some dumb comments on here but yours takes the cake.
"Upgrading to a '59"? I'll take a '60 any day over those fat-neck, unplayable '59's ... Great guitar. Hate to keep sticking a stick in ya'll's eye, but think about pulling that mic back by 6-8 inches and let that speaker do its thing! And this has become an insane world ... $200k for a guitar? That's just squirrel food ...
Horrible background music💩
Stop talking kid. Let someone play the thing.
The plastic inside the pups is important? These things aren’t special at all. Maybe rare but it is just not. Mass hysteria.
made my ears bleed, horrible playing to demonstrate a guitar/amp combo.
