What a great video! It brings me back to when I first started watching. Oh how your videos have gotten me through so many ups and downs in my life. I cannot thank you enough AM
We've seen lots of babies born since 2016 but there has never been one cuter than our Dopey, and none of them showed as much personality as Dopey. Thank you for the walk down memory lane.
@@linda-ll0404 I don''t think so either, Teeny is my second most loved, she fought so hard to live. But it seems there are so many now, Mr. AM cannot concentrate on one baby like he did Dopey so we don't see their personalities like we did his.
@@tngrandma242 sweet Teeny was a favorite of mine also. The babies have all grown up and been replaced by new generations. So much has changed over the years. Grandee was my favorite dad monkey. He sure loved all his children
Thank you for the tour of your lovley home and history lesson for newbies like me. Hard to believe I am in my small Alaskan town, watching you in your big city and getting a glimpse of these amazing monkeys. ❤
What a wonderful and heartwarming story of how this all began. And we know abs have seen it-the circle of life goes on. Thank you for your continued pragmatic optimism.
Thank you so much for bringing us late comers to your channel with who the players are in your videos. I love your channel, and I love your voice, it is so calm and soothing. Your videos are so beautiful and so natural. You don't gloss over the bad or good mothers. Just like humans, they all have personalities from good to bad. I will continue to watch and enjoy your videos. My family laughs at me when I tell them some of the monkey stories, but I find it soothing. ♥♥
Loved all those first babies. Dopey and Knotty are still my favorite babies of all time. Dopey first with his clumsy adorableness and later with his wicked smart attitude. And poor Knotty, the little unloved baby always looking for his neglectful Mom. Both boys grew up to be handsome young monkeys. ❤
I have never seen a momma turn a baby around from suckling so efficiently as at 15:59. That was awesome. I usually see the momma cross one of her arms blocking the baby’s access.
Arroz, thank you for this it was so cool to see. Such a unique view and it helps us understand where are you go to monkey Hill a lot better & Hong Kong in general. I can’t believe how long I’ve been watching you yet sometimes it feels like we’ve known you forever. I appreciate what you do so much you will never know.😊
@@jenniferlynn79 me too! Him and Spocky were ousted at the same time but then he was gone but Spocky is still thriving! That’s really a big mystery because I figured he wouldn’t leave his younger brother! He was such as good older brother!
Interesting! I'd like to know who Mr AM is, as well as the narrator. I thought they were the same person, but it could also be AI generated. I've got to know a few of the main players. The ones who've stood out, like the one with the large limbs, or the one with underdeveloped feet. They seem to make life work for them. It's good to see!
That was a fab look-back of how it all began! Especially loved the intro with the 'fly over' and the accompanying environmental sounds! Hongkong truly is a fascinating Mega City! @Mr AM, do you live in such a crazy taaaall high-rise? I read that the tallest building in HK is 484 m (1,587.9 ft). The tallest in Sweden is a new building called 'The Karla Tower' in Gothenburg, and it reaches a modest 247 m (810 ft). Our citys usually doesn't have real high-rise buildings. Anyways, so happy y'all have Monkey Hill (and the company of all of our furry cousins 🐒) as a green getaway. ❤😊🇸🇪
I remember being doubtful that Baty would survive...it was lucky for him that Dolly was a seasoned mum who knew just what to do for him. It's hard to believe that our Lily is already 8 yrs. old! I hadn't remembered that Haggy was also a plucker. Nony had such a sweet baby face. There were so many things about Dopey that endeared him to all of us, plus we fell in love with Reddy then, too. Knotty was the baby who broke my heart. No matter how much attention he got from babysitters, all he ever wanted was his mother's love. I'll never forget how, at times, he actually seemed to fear Gypsy once weaning began. All the other babies would be enjoying tea time, but all he could do was stare longingly at Gypsy, not daring to get too close. She could, and did, deliver some truly punishing bites.
Right years ago already. I started watching I guess when you started filming them. My grandson are handsome young men now & the monkeys in this video have brown old. I miss Gypsy & Teddy & that gang. Good to see them again as I remember them, thank you so much. This
Even if they were not equally loved they certainly are eually lovable to us. They bring so much laughter and love from the views for all of these beautiful simian creatures.
Great video! I started watching in 2017 and was hooked when watching all previous videos of Dopey. Was Cocky ousted and that’s when Grandee arrived? How did that all come about?
Reddy's babies were all born uncoordinated but Dopey was the worst since you started videoing them. But Dopey finally got coordinated and i think he was able to sit and watch and learn instead of running around his first couple of months. AM, thank you so much for the walk down memory lane.
I remember she weaned Batty when he was so young. Made me sad. Maybe she weaned him early cause he was small and weak and had to nurse him all the time. She weaned him at like 5 months old.
@PamPreston78 I think there is a walking tour that AM takes on how he gets to Monkey Hill.....but I could be wrong. I will see if I can find it. If I do I will post it in group
It's truly Christmas time!! We used to watch old movies of the family every year!!! 🥹 this reminds me of then! We've all split apart (we were ousted by her family when my Mom passed) but, the memories are beautiful!! Thank you for this memory, Arroz!! ❤️
In defense to Gyspy, her babies were given lots of love. They had very loving caretakers (aunts). It's not like they were suffering abuse or starvation. She did nurse them and did the best she could. She is the lowest ranking member. If her kids were ever in any scuffle she would jump from the background to defend her offspring. She was there when they needed her and she took a lot of heat for her kids and her rank. Look at how many (aunty) macaques that have been fixed and would have never get to experience motherhood or taking care of a baby if it wasn't for Gyspy... She is unique in her own way and she has a really loving family. If other troops had a Gyspy maybe kidnapping wouldn't be so deadly. Most dislike Bo because of her longing for a baby. You never see a comment in her favor. By most, Gyspy is labled a neglectful mother. To some, Gyspy is a blessing in disquise.
Knotty was pitiful. I feel a kinship to him though. My own mother was almost always away. My older sister spen 75% of her life in the hospital and rarely did my mother leave her side. I look up to her for that tremendously but it left me with any and everyone around. I remember some of it and it was always just wanting her and always looking for her. Knotty was fed by her everyday thank goodness but the rest of the time he was left either in someone else's arms or trying to find her. Like him I grew up but the hurt was no less. I'm glad for his sake it lessened with time. It never did for me and I lost her and my sister young. It broke her when my sister died at age 21 and I was 16. Wow I just saw the last bit of his part of the story and he had latched on to Rudy! She doesn't look like she had milk but that's still unheard of. Babies end up with other females but by 2 wks old or more they have bonded and know mothers smell. They don't latch on to other females. I guess it was a blessing and gave him some comfort. Gypsy has never been a real mother to her babies
