YOOO! I have the smoochum pink one of these, I remember my grandma going to the US when I was a kid and bringing it back as a gift with all the little games, I only found it again recently (even with it's little pink pouch and smoochum keychain lol) but I couldn't get it working for the same reason of battery connector rust - I just tried your tip of using a little tinfoil rn and it's switching on again I am so PUMPED I have so much nostalgia for this little thing aw man, thanks dude.
Yo I am so happy for you dude🔥🔥
9:14 Actually, it wasn't Cassidy who was paired up with Duplica...it was Casey, the Electabuzz baseball girl from Johto
I still have my Chikorita Green Pokémon Mini, and all five games for it that made it out of Japan, and I gotta say, I think you sold Pokémon Pinball Mini a little short. Each stage can absolutely be failed- some require you to score a certain number of points, others require you to get the ball into each hole once, some have you catch the Pokémon to unlock them as bumpers, and all with time limits. Also, while Pikachu does indeed hit the ball in a random direction, it's not the only bumper. It's not even the first one available to you- you start with Diglett, Pikachu's just the first one you get to catch. Diglett's pretty basic, Pikachu hits the ball in a random direction, Clefairy lets you use the D-pad to influence the ball's direction upon being hit, Wobbuffet hits the ball with a lot of power but is a bit slower, and Poliwag doesn't have a lot of power but can be used to hit the ball pretty quickly. Also, some bumpers aren't allowed on certain stages- any given Pokémon can't be used to replay its own catching level, Clefairy is obviously banned on some of the trickier stages, there's a number of aquatic themed stages that only allow Poliwag, and the final level only allows you to use Diglett, since that's what you started with. And that's just off the top of my head. It doesn't play like the other two Pokémon Pinball titles, but not in a bad way.
This guy plays Pokemon Pinball Mini
Now I have the mental image of Mewtwo and Giovanni playing Uno. Nice.
I remember clocking in hundreds of hours in that Shadow Rail Grind mini game you could get at McDonald's.
Good times... good times...
shout out to the =3 transition screen 😄 that brought me back. great video!
I gotta admit ur comments about the puzzles got a good laugh out of me.
This brings back so many memories! I actually liked that Hitmonchan punch game at the time, and remember my little sister shaking as a penguin with epilepsy herself, in stead of just this little console, whenever she tried to beat my score!
I love these lost bits of hardware! Thanks Papa!
chicorita pokemon console?!?!?!?!?! please take my entire life savings
Speaking of obscure pokemon "console" relic. Do you remember? It was a pokeball. You opened it and it was a computer game. It involved catching pokemon and I remember I loved that thing
I totally could beat those puzzles. In fact, let me go do that right now, I've got a Pokemon Mini and it's entire console library displayed in a shadow-box on my wall.
While I never physically owned or played a Pokémon mini, i have been able to play the games on it through Pokémon Channel, very fun little thing.
i remember playing these mini games on Pokémon Channel! The snorlax one was my favourite
OMG I still have mine! I'm quite surprised more people don't know about it lol
I always wanted one of these as a kid!! It is so cool to see what the gameplay looks like :D
A a side note, you can clean the battery contacts by taking out the battery and soak the contacts with white vinegar (a cotton swab works best for this application). It'll help stop the rust a well as eat any battery acid that could be on the contacts. After a few min, you can take a dry cotton bud and polish the contact. A lot of the time this helps to take off the rust (you do sometimes need to use a bit of elbow grease), if the contact aren't toooooo rusty. Once you're sure it is fully dry, it will be safe to turn on and test. Considering the foil worked, this method could help to clean up the contacts enough to work without it :D
Hope you have a great rest of your day :)
I own the blue one along with the japanese party mini, I bought it for 4,400 yen 2 years ago and it’s nice knowing that the price has increased a bit overtime. Still fun to use from time to time though!
looks like fuqeen trash
I love this system! Unfortunately my smoochun one went through the wash last year (oops) so I gotta get a new one as the screen is dead now, but I am very lucky to have all 5 English games and all 5 Japanese exclusives for a full set.
SO weird. I just saw one of these in my local game store a few days ago for the first time ever and now it’s on my RUclips recommendation
This video made me question if I'm still in the right universe.
I wouldn't have noticed the scratch on the screen
*But god damn you I notice it now*
I had the Pokemon Pikachu and had no awareness of these Pokemon Minis. I do remember that I got the Pokemon Pikachu after my Tomagotchi broke, and I was thinking that I preferred the simpler experience of the Tomagotchi and wish I had that back. These do seem cool since they have swappable cartridges.
I actually really liked that one game with the diglett- I think it was fun to do all the different challenges. 😊
I had the blue one. I only had one of the games - the party one! didn't know there were other games!
I first learned about the Pokemon-Mini through Pokemon Channel and I thought that were some fun lil mini-games!
Pokemon Pinball puts me back. I got it for my Gameboy colour and was so proud that I got over a billion of points
THIS ONE I can actually talk about, I had this as I was in the Nintendo Club when I was like.. idfk, 7? Ages ago.
I was able to play like 3 of the minigames, the rest needed something I dont remember and I could never play them
Core memory unlocked
These remind me a lot of the pokeathelon from HGSS, weird little mini games with not much to them but cute nonetheless
I was wondering why these games are so familiar. I'm like "I didn't have one of these things? I don't think so? Did I know someone with these?" and then realized these were also featured in Pokemon Channel, which I did have. o3o
Papa crankin’ em out!
Like if you also live in a country where you don't have freedom ⚽
I’ll send some freedom if I visit.
As I said last week, huge fan of the DON'T series, thanks and DON'T
Ah, but I do know of the Pokémon Mini. I remember seeing it in... Boots of all places (or at least where there now is a Boots in the city I visit; perhaps it was a different store back then) and wanting one because it was Pokémon themed and had a pinball game. I never did get it; saving my pocket money up for games on consoles and handhelds I already had rather than buy a new system. I figured it was Pokémon themed and so would stick around for a while... aside from the year I saw, I new saw one in person ever again.
1:12 - I do love how they designed the box-art for these colour variants. Really neat idea.
3:07 - The coincidence here is scary, as when I got those McDonald Sonic the Hedgehog games (owned the Tails and Sonic one), my first thought was that they reminded me on the Pokémon Mini that I never got to own.
5:54 - A shame to hear that the pinball game that had me intrigued about this system all those years ago turned out to not be any good.
9:37 - Zany Cards does indeed sound like the most fun with what you've described.
Honestly this video doesn't do Pokémon Pinball Mini much justice. It doesn't play like other Pokémon Pinball titles, true enough, but not in a bad way. There's like multiple levels to play through with different objectives- some levels require you to get the ball in each hole once, some levels have you try to beat the high score in a set period of time, some levels are for catching other Pokémon to use as bumpers- there's five different ones and they all play differently; Diglett, the one you start with, is pretty basic; Pikachu, as noted, hits the ball in a random direction; Wobbuffet sacrifices speed for power; Clefairy lets you use the D-Pad to influence the ball's direction once hit; and Poliwag sacrifices power for speed. Some levels even restrict which bumpers you can use. A few examples- a lot of the trickier levels obviously ban Clefairy; Some levels, usually with an aquatic motif, will only allow Poliwag; the final level only allows Diglett; and a Pokémon can't be used to replay its own catching level. It's honestly a really cool game IMO. I still go back to it to try and beat my best times and high scores on some levels.
@@IAmMissingnoMaster That certainly does sound a lot more fun than what was presented in the video. Thanks for sharing a different and in-depth perspective on it.
If you memorized what pokemon were what number, you could play Uno with actual pokemon cards
I spent way too much time playing the version of these on Pokemon Channel. One of the only good things about that game.
I have the blue, green and pink one with the 5 PAL games. Games are boxed, consoles aren't. Wondering what the value is...
6:05 Welp, that explains why we never got a new Pokemon Pinball game.
For one second I thought it was a Digivice
Not going to lie, I think that looks very charming.
Oh dang! I remember learning about those things because of Pokémon Channel
Same.
The accelerometer for the punching game is in the cartridge.
Shaking the device isn't specific to Party Mini. If you shake it while playing Pokémon Tetris, the block currently falling flips backwards, so the S block becomes the Z block, and vice versa. Extremely useful little tip for that game.
Are you going to do ultra sun and ultra moon how it intended it
3:20 show some respect for the people around the world, this is Xenophobic
it was a joke
papasea I’m your biggest fan from brazil
I wish I could have gotten one of these
Does anyone know the music playing at 0:22? It sounds so familiar but I can figure out what it is, it's driving me crazy!
it's hopes and dreams from undertale
@@PaPaSea I knew it was familiar! Thank you! And awesome video! :)
Who’s Butch? I only remember Botch.
Too cool
Who is this butch fella you mentioned in the card game section?
Pretty cool and very random lol
this is depressing
I didn't forget eheheh
