總是覺得那年代的香港城市風貌比現在的有形得多、很有韻味．
当然，那个时候的香港是以绅士文明为基准。现在的城市都是浮躁，拜金，精致的利己主义，是以丑为美。英国治下的香港一去不返了。孰好孰坏，高下立判。
看完照片，真的很喜歡之前的香港，很美
我是五十年代中出生 只在香港住了十八年便移民美國 那個年代什么地方也沒去過 只在銅鑼灣 灣仔及中環打轉 連大排檔都只吃過一次。對香港環境有記憶開始在四歲 零星記憶令我好懷念。而且都是在五十年代尾至七十年代中。尤其像這些珍貴照片的五十年代尾 五十年代的香港最美 清靜 沒有高樓大廈 亍上幾許行人 沒多少車輛 生活雖然一般清貧 但簡單的日子多好！感謝分享這些五十年代珍貴的舊照.❤
香港50年代有彩色相，我不相信，50年代科技沒有可能做到，黑白相機，貴價貨，相之後加工變彩色，你是否同意

I remember seeing Hong Kong while watching TV as a kid in the 70's (I was born in 72) and fell in love it with it straight away. I managed to visit in August 2017 and loved every minute of being there. I wish could visit every year!. There is a beauty and character in these photos that even though I wasn't born then makes me wish I was there😊👍❤🇬🇧
This is the Hong Kong that never grows old.

I remember there was a Royal Air Force ‘s WW 2 Spitfite on display during the commemoration of the Battle of Britain in HongKong Island side . It was a thrill for a teen to see the real combat aircraft of WW 2 of the RAF .

I lived there in Kowloon ‘s Hung Hum district from 1957 until 1969 during my school years . Been visited HongKong in 1989 and 1992 and found it’s changed in which I couldn’t recognize where I was at . I think I did walk through the area where I lived before but couldn’t realize it until a couple hours later . ShaTin wasn’t even developed yet in the 60’s . Of such curiosity during my last couple of years in school , I walked over the Lion Rock mountain from Kowloon ‘s side to ShaTin and ride the train back to Kowloon . There was the Tai Tung Cable Company located inside the Peninsula Hotel and the only way that I could talk with my father in USA was connecting a call there and expensive then . No one could think about in those old days that these days we have internet / I-phone and could communicate anywhere on the globe where applicable . Greetings from Illinois and Wisconsin USA .
我不相信50年代有彩色相，香港50年代科技落後，買相機是貴價貨，50年代彩色菲林可以買到，現在黑白相加工彩色，現在科技可以做到
Hung Hum is nothing like it was in the 90s I was there in 2016. I think they finally finished working on that MTR (laugh).
I remember when I visited hk in 1968.
The pacific plaza once occupied by a public housing,and hill were occupied by squater.large number squater from China.
My parents were warn of purse snatcher.there were lot of police officer in the north point area.as the cultural revolution spill over to hk.

First photo red Triumph Spitfire Mark II, AE number plate, means the photo was taken in the mid-60's.

The first memory I have of Star Ferry was the opening of the pedestrian tunnel. Back then HK was pushing 3 million.

Right side is HSBC and you don't see it. Lots of Phillipines hanging around outside the park at the left most of the photo on lunch time. A maiden for offices. I always there.
