Absolutely wonderful! Love your soft-spoken approach. Some trainers encourage revving your dog up and some dogs do need that depending on the sport. But I’m just realizing that it’s not the best approach for training trick and obedience behaviors to my dog as it overshadows the attention to detail we must both bring to the task. So your very timely example (thanks, RUclips algorithms!) is one we’ll emulate! Hats off for your monumental achievement with Sky. (And I’d give my right arm for your your singing voice!)

My jaw dropped watching this, wow you are so good at training, kind and patient! He is a lovely boy! Would you be so kind to describe how you taught him the first trick with the bell - I would love to use it to teach my dog when he wants to go outside/toilet
First hang the bells with your fingers. Sky was a little afraid of them at first. Spend a few days getting him used to the sound treating him when you jingle them. Then hang them where he can reach them with his nose. Sit by him and wait. If he makes the slightest look towards them treat him. Shape this until he touches them with his nose. Then take him outside. Every single time take him out and treat him. Continue this to shape the behavior. Sky knows “Ring louder!” too. Soon he will understand it means go out and potty. He may start ringing the bells all the time when he’s figured this out. If he does that and you know he doesn’t have to go, pick up the bells for a couple hrs and he’ll figure out he can only ring and go out when he really needs to. I hope this works for you!

I have a TFT the same color. She will be 7 but I have had her only almost 3 years. She was a breeder dog but since I've had her she has learned very quickly although I don't press her since she was in a crate for 4 years. My previous TFT wa also extremely smart. Great dogs... like a little dog in a big body that will play ball or do tricks but if you want to take a nap then they are down for that too! Not hyper like Jack Russell's.
I'm so jealous!!! I thought my lil Charliedog was the smartest TFT there ever was! Well, you certainly gave me some ideas for nee things for him to learn. He 12 but this old dog has no problem with new tricks!

TFTs are very smart. Sky is now 8 and is still learning new tricks.
