The Chapel is so incredibly beautiful....it is breath taking. Wasn't it Gerry who said that people would come because of the Chapel.....I think he is right.........
Over 10 years ago I was at an estate sale and came across a desktop dial phone in dark olive green. It was just like the one my dad had in his home office. I bought it and decorate my telephone table with it - just for the fun of it. At Dad’s funeral Mass, we laid out items that symbolized him. The dial phone was one of the items. ❤
In other words, I understand the nostalgia.
I have a turquoise one on display as well. I love it
Our ideal as teenagers in the late 60s and 70s was to have a "Princess Phone" in our bedrooms with our own private line. Got the princess phone,
but no private line! 😉🤣 ~Tara
I took Mum's original cordless phone to her funeral, she had spent so much time talking to those she loved on it, and her wee great grandaughter picked it up and had a 'chat', maybe to her, who knows. 😊
Oh my goodness that silver dollar that you found from America from 1776 to 1976 is a bicentennial coin and a lot of people would just love to have that. Before my husband passed away we used to collect coins like that but when he passed away I gave all of them to my grandson. It's very meaningful
I came here to tell them this too! It’s a keeper. 😊
Yes
Ditto. That was a special issue coin celebrating that little riff our peoples had in 1776. Not sure what it’s worth, but definitely more than face value.
I have a couple of those displayed in a printer's drawer at home! I love checking the antique stores for coins. It's amazing what I find for hardly anything. 🪙❤️
I have a stack of one dollar coins, (which are still legal tender) that my grandfather gave me - one every year on my birthday. They don't really circulate anymore. I believe it was in the 90's when the US Mint issued another one dollar coin (was Amelia Earhart on it?) that flopped because it was stupidly the same size and weight as our quarter.
I love it when you and Gerry hang out together Stephanie. I love how you two reminise with songs, people, and styles etc that I'm so familiar with. Good fun !
Just like "Field of Dreams" people will come. Restore chapel people will come.
me too... they have such fun together..
Finding cards is wonderful isn’t it :). I’ve had to clear my mum and dads house this spring and mum kept almost all our old cards - and lots of other things too :). Dads paints and rough sketches and wood galore. And Even a mousetrap game ! It’s been very sad sorting through 66 years of their memories together but , it’s brought back very happy memories too. Happy summer all and a fabulous bee ! 🐝
Like attracts like. That explains all the incredible people that are attracted to La Lande as Stephanie is one of the most incredible people on the planet. She really is a joy magnet. Thank you!
This garden sure has come a long way in just a few years.
Your bantering about with Gerry is so sweet. There's nothing like going down memory lane with a sibling.
April 1866 was a very good year. I wonder how the people looked who lived in La Lande then. I do enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for letting us vicariously enjoy chateau life.
I love that your kitchen is open to everyone. I truly makes you feel as part of a group of family and friends. Welcomed to the inner circle. That is very special! So your time at the chateau is not just a place to stay. It says Welcome to our home! It is truly special to be so Welcomed!❤
Gerald is the sweetest person and he loves his Stephanie so much!!!
& funny too 😂
Stephanie, the U.S. silver dollar might be one that was still fully made from silver. If so, it would be worth more than one dollar. Even if not, as another commenter mentioned, it is a collector’s piece. ❤️🇺🇸❤️
p.s. The chapel is such an exquisite jewel. Since you first expressed your hope to restore it, I’ve prayed to St. Joseph for his help whenever you’ve mentioned it, as I’m sure, many have. Thank you for your blessings St. Joseph! May The Lord bless all who enter this beautiful, sacred work of art.
Marie is such a treasure. So precious and unaware of just how special she is.
1976 is our Countries'
Bicentennial year..
Lovely to see so many friends in the chateau. Looking forward to the Patreons Day videos!
Stephanie and Phillip, I keep thinking about just how special and historic the restoration of the chapel is. I'm an artist and love designs and patterns from Medieval and early periods and I just love looking at the patterns and colors of the new painted areas. There is really a lot of quality craftsmanship being used and preserved in the chapel project, what I keep thinking is you should do a special, long video about the whole process. The history of the chapel, the details of the type of paints used, stone, render, vaulting etc.and the craft of how it was done (and redone). Like a documentary or the other type of videos you do that are so well done about the history of something. If you go back through the videos you've already done, and piece together from that, you have most of the footage already! You could compare it to the restoration at Notre Dame too. Please fill the video with close ups of each of the patterns on the columns and walls for people like me who like to study that. I just think a special dedicated long video would be great!
Love the hustle and bustle and all the familiar faces.
Mullet man..😂😂😂 I can't stop laughing.. yet another awesome episode. ❤️🇨🇦
Always enjoy Jerry's visits... A trip to London with Jerry as a driver would be worth a voyage across the pond. Does he hire his cab out for day trips? Now that would be fun!
Steven is such a funny man,
All these wonderfull people arriving in Lalande change the life for even better. I love to see this great home full of life. This is anazing !
Stephanie, please, could you just once make your intro on one of your next video. Missing it ...
XXX
Yves
Best not to. Just watch old ones again. 😊✨
My daughter was born in 1975 too Stephanie. I'm like you when I clean out an area and have to look at everything and remember when and where I got it. Memories.
The chapel is so beautiful…. Love people’s interest and joy in seeing it…It does what its original purpose was, to inspire awe and wonder and praise of our maker.
Hi Stephanie, When you were talking to Nick and you turned to talk to Phillip, the view of the restoration of the back of the chapel is amazing. Its a view of the restoration we haven't seen yet. It is truly beautiful. Mark & Scott
Gerald has been a friend of Stephanie's Father she's grown up around him and considers him her brother and him his sister.
I've never seen anything as beautiful as this chapel, I love it
Uncle Steven knows how to live.
Wow, the Chapel is stunning!! Lovely to see Nick. I like Nick. He sounds like me 😊
chicken wire allows weasels and rodents in - you need 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch welded hardware cloth (which is a metal mesh - easy to buy and VERY good against predators.)
I instantly thought of the Beetles when I saw the wig. 😂😂😂
Oh my gosh! The attic finds are epic!
You should do a coloring book! Of course include the chapel and garden! Also you could do a wall calendar or day planner. One year you could include Michael's photography and the next year Andie's art.
Your aunt and uncle really know how to live ❤😂
🎉Your mom looking wonderful. Hope she can be at the chateau a good while. Always love seeing anything to do with fabric!😊
Lancelot is bewildered
looking at the lemon bowl then at Andi
Empty?
I laughed at that also.
Vivienne has such a beautiful smile. You are all living the best life
Just be ruthlessly with clearing the attic you won’t regret it .
Aw lovely to see the Chateau full of life, love & laughter 🥰you and Gerry are so funny together 😄lovely vlog, thank you xx🥰🏰☀️
Put Gerald into that moat immediately…there MUST be a gondola about somewhere!
😂😂😂
Boy, that’s a lot of trash going to the tip! The multi coloured flowers will look very pretty floating in the fountain. The chateau is humming in preparation for patron days. 🙏❤️🇨🇦
Stephanie and Philip you should be writing a book about the restoration of the chapel - if as you say the frescos are of such a calibre as to be in the same ilk at Notre Dame then it would be very well received. You also have an amazing story to tell about the raising of the funds to save this chapel through the Adopt A Star programme, to showcase the artisans that have worked on the chapel - all in all it would be a wonderful record of something historically significant.
Yeaaah Nati is back.
Have you considered painting the cupboard doors in the kitchen…it is one of the furnitures we see the most in the videos and that needs a lot of love…what do you think?
The $1 coin was for the US bicentennial.
Lancelot looks in the dish looks back at her and says excuse me you forgot something inside the dish🤣
Really fun vlog. Love seeing everyone at the chateau. Old friends, new friends, they are all so fun. Can't wait to see the patron days videos.
Pavlina, you can put some rice, water and a drop of soap in those little vases and shake them up for easy cleaning.
Dear Stephanie, Philip, Gerry, Marie and Nati, When we receive vlogs like this one, I just don't want them to end. These are the best...leaving us with wanting more. What a delight from beginning to end. Hugs💞
May I add a suggestion? The coins you came across in the attic could be mounted in a frame. Hugs💞
You should put the old coins in a lovely picture frame and display
Scott Man becomes Bay City Roller Man!!!❤
Something good will happen today. I need my favorite people from a Chateau far way! The critters ate my newly planted 4 week old corn. I feel defeated. While watering what they hadn’t eaten a little chipmunk came within 3 feet of me. He must have seen my very unhappy face and quickly turned and bounded off the way he came. I tell myself they need it more than I do. It’s so dry and 100+ outside. My water fountains get filled twice a day and bowls of water out for any and all creatures that are thirsty. It is wildfire season here too. So any prayers for our firefighters and all those effected will be greatly appreciated. That being said I can now escape to a world far away in LaLande.
🙏🏻💕…. 🌦🌧🌽
Sis, you're right they need it more than we do! Give him a dish of cracked corn or sun flowers! They have babies right now! Just plant something else! We have mother raccoons and their babies! They are so hungry! Thank you, for setting our the water! Please don't feel defeated! You helped a little creature survive. Something dug up our cucumber plants! Just planted more! The heat is horrible. Please take care!
I keep water in large dishes even on the ground when it's above 90- triple digits ...because even the rabbits start seeking water. Terrible fires in northern California this past week. Pray for rain there & Death Valley got to 125 I think I heard.
I'm so sorry to hear of all your troubles. I feel really bad. Here in Yorkshire, England it's cold again,15 degrees maximum and has poured down nearly all day.We have been complaining. We've had a very wet and cold summer but I guess you would swap yours . Hope things improve for you. Stay safe...Warmest wishes to you.
Everyone is eating gracefully at the table and Philip is sat there with his allergy-free meal in a Tupperware box😢.
Scot man is fabulous!
You should make sure they don't use chicken wire. It's not secure. You need to use a thicker gage than just chicken wire or predators can still get in.
We used hardware cloth on ours - chicken wire is basically like butter to a predator.
Ive never commented until now, but I thought I would tell you, years ago, I did have fabric in my bathroom. I dunked it into a bucket of liquid starch (undiluted) and then just smoothed it onto the walls. It doesnt fall off and leaves very little mess when you simply pull it off the wall. And it never got moldy or yucky even with a family of four using the bathroom. Just a thought for an easy reno on the cheap using fabric that is very easy to reverse when you want to do something else. If you ever decide to use the idea, I would be happy to answer any questions and the full run down on how to do it very simply.
😮 merveilleuse idée que d’amidonner le tissu 💡👍🏻
@@ccoeurjoli
How is it that the starch doesn’t eat away at the fabric?
You and Gerry almost make me want to go clean my closet! Keyword: Almost! :)
I'll have what Uncle Steven is having!🎉🥳👍
I hope Andi will show us her home soon
That fabric that was taken down from the walls would make lovely duvets.
The room you're cleaning out would make a nice bedroom. The old wallpaper is pretty. The fabric you found is lovely
I think Dan needs Nick. He was nearly catapulted over the edge by a roof frame and then just missed knocking himself out with a roof joist. 😱
Is there a Jarvis crest that could be added to the Chapel? Would be great to add your stamp on it Stephanie, to show your contribution to the restoration. Without you, this wouldn't have taken place. 😊
Great idea! ❤
I think a lion for England & a fleur de lis for France and maybe even a harp or shamrock for Ireland would cover her heritage ...& something for Phillip ...perhaps a tulip for Holland?
Only nobility had a crest in France.
@YM-rt1jy I didn't know. Maybe a little artwork instead to represent Stephanie, Michael and Nick.
Call Mummy Mummington ❤
Should have given Andy the donation curtain & fabrics. Do we get a tour of Andy’s house?
You are living the most amazing life ✨️ . Thank you for sharing so generously.
For the odd window you could get a remote control shade. I love the color you picked for the kitchen.
It's nice to visit with old memories
What a great time with friends.
Thank you. Once again Stephanie I find joy, great joy, in all your videos. At this time while I am in hospital in the Rehabilitation ward the extra joy of these delightful happy times is my special treat.
You have an incredible knack of bringing every one into the reality of the now.
Once I hear you reply to Philip that you were talking to you invisible friend s. And, to me thats how you and Vivian and others have made it seem. Congratulations
Thank you to all in the house for sharing so openly.
💪🏻 be strong and brave Shirley ! All this videos help many people around the world… even in France too 🤭 !
Stéphanie and her friends and family are so nice, good people 💕
🌸🌸🌸
Prayers for a swift recovery
I want to sweep the Attic! How can you clean up without sweeping up that mess?😂 you would feel so much more accomplished with the floor clean.
Natty, Andie and Vivienne arriving was just wonderful. The chateau is filled with love & laughter. Cleaning the attic and finding treasures and sentimental cards is just lovely. Always good therapy to spring clean. Looking forward to patreon day.😂❤
So happy to see so many familiar faces including Hanni (sorry if I misspelled)
A quick google search priced that US dollar coin at anywhere from $200 to $2000...
😮
Oh, la la!
Love the treasures you are finding in the room. Nick looks awesome. Hens space is coming along.
Gerry - you’re the VERY BESTEST 🤣🤣.
I can imgine that attic as a cozy hideaway.
Right.
A cozy room for sewing and embroidery work, maybe?
Great clearing out the attic again with Gerald. Love the coins and the material you found. It’s a hive of activity once again at Lalande ❤
Might look better with floor swept up.,good job. So interesting.
The US coin is all silver, it should be worth more than a dollar. I believe we still have the dollar coin in circulation.
Yes, they are; I've only bought them by the mint "monster" box but I bet they're all over Las Vegas for use in slot machines.
Print up some labels and put them in the ends of those clear storage containers so you can find those fabulous things when you need them again. I started doing that with my Christmas decorations, and it makes things so much easier. That US dollar coin you have is an American Bicentennial coin! I was in college in 1976, and well remember all the hoopla over our nation's 200th birthday. My father used to collect silver coins, from back when our coins were actually made with real silver, and I was dismayed when I checked the value of them a few years ago to find that they're not really worth all that much more than face value. But I keep them because they were important to my father. Seeing the chapel's transformation still makes me teary-eyed!
You must get Lacelot a little tartan cape and a tiny Sherlock Holmes cap with a tiny magnifyer attached to his little green bow tie-:)
😉😂🤣
Le petit Trou Normand à la fin ravi mon coeur de normande.
Enjoy!
Love it so much when the Chateau is buzzing around with so many lovely people that I know! Just fabulous ❤
my great-grandmother was exactly T-1 month to birth when the chapel was finished! 16 May 1866...yet worlds apart in Dundee, Scotland! The chapel is really awe-inspiring and beautiful everyone contributed to it's preservation. This period in time was very special.
Ooooh Nati, I missed her. The bee labels for the honey are ADORABLE ❤❤❤
So much joy, laughter and love throughout the chateau, the gardens and the chapel. ❤
I just love all the activity for the patron day! Everyone is having fun and you all inspire me! Xoxo
That is truly how invasion your Chateau Stephanie; full of life and friendship!
Love you guy's! ❤
another wonderful vid to watch !!!
At the start of the video we see the shelves in the arrière-cuisine. There are now three shelves on top of each other. My first thought was that there is room for at least one more shelf, maybe also two. But with that type of shelf system the weight rests only on the screws that are screwed into the wall. Then only light things could be on those shelves. If more porcelain were to be stored there a more solid shelf system is needed. I have seen in earlier videos that the kitchen table looks like it once has been varnished, but that varnish is now flaking off. I think a bit higher table is needed maybe, possibly with storage space underneath. I wish Stephanie would film Marie telling us how she ideally would organize the kitchen!
So nice to see Nick there today.
I am new to this channel and I must say I just love that little doggie. He definitely should have his own show. He is such a beauty.
I'm inefficient when cleaning out clutter. Any old item would send me to memory lane or fantasy land : )
The peonies are over now, the flowers out in the garden are dahlias….
I’m glad you said that because abuse I thought there was something wrong with my peonies 😂 xx
Hello, I was just wondering, did I hear Stephanie say Gerald is her brother? What a lovely guy he is!
Gerald is her brother but not blood line. Stephanie parents raised him. Stephanie is an only child. She calls Gerald her brother because they were raised together.
I was wondering the same thing!
He is a brother from another mama.❤️
He is a most loved Brother. He is a Blessing for Stephanie and Her Mother!!
@@MK-Farm-Michigan Yes she talked about the story how Gerald got included in the family in a video. I don't remember the video and I don't remember the story. I think they came to know Jerry whilst travelling to Scotland when Stephanie was very young.
I love this segment.you are all so energetic and also it was so interesting to see your father things in the attic
I love the Chapel 💒 Beautiful ❤️
You are doing such a good job cleaning up your inspiring me to maybe go down in my basement. 😊
😊 I want to be at La Lalande 🥰. I’m sure this year’s Patron Day will be better than ever! All hands on deck!
Wishing you all a wonderful day and fingers crossed the weather stays fine!!
The Chapel is looking spectacular!
Love it when all the family & gang are there! Such a warm and friendly atmosphere 🥰🥂🍾💐👍🏻😊🙅♀️🙅♀️
🌸🌸🌸
Lovely, everything… thank you so much for all the joy! 🫶💞🫶
