- Welcome to my third vlog!
In this video I show you guys how to take the bumper off a 2017 Honda CRV front bumper. This video should also work for the 2017-2019 5th generation CRVs. I do not have the fog lights on my model but it should be a pretty easy to undo the wiring harness. I thought it would be cool to make this video as I haven't seen any bumper videos of this model. The footage in this video was taken a couple months ago but just uploaded now due to being busy with school. If there are any questions about how to take the bumper off leave them in the comments below and I will try to get back to you asap!

If you've got an adaptive cruise sensor on the grill does that need to be recalibrated if you remove the bumper?
Hey bro so the way u remove the entrire bumper with your hand and not any clip tools can u do that with crv 2020
It’s better to use tool when possible because even though you can force it out, you will risk breaking some clips so take your time and try to wedge the tool to make the clips come off easier. After you remove once, you will know where to press next time you remove
is it possible to replace 2019 crv bumper with 2022 bumper?
Thanks
Do I need to recalibrate the radar to the dealer after that?
Do you need to remove the entire bumper to remove the chrome bar on the grille? I had an extra chrome trim piece and wrapped in with black vinyl. But now I can’t see how to access the rear of the grille. Are there screws holding it on as well as clips, or just clips? It starts to loosen but won’t pop off and I don’t want to break it. Did you guys have to remove the whole bumper to wrap the chrome bar? It’s a lot of work just for that one part!
The only way I know how to remove the chrome bar is by taking off the whole bumper and detatching the clips that hold the grille in place. Behind the chrome bar is 3 white clips that come off if you pull the stright out. One clip on each side of the bar and one in the middle by the H logo. I have a bumper removal video on my channel but you can always search up another one kf it isnt detailed enough. You could also just wrap the bar while its on the car, which should still turn out pretty good
Anthony Mo I wish I had wrapped it on the car! I thought it would be easier to wrap it indoors, taking my time and watching tv (since I had the extra part), but now I’m realizing that wasn’t smart. I also have that spray paint that can be peeled off. I’m not sure what would be easier now. I’ll check out your video. Thanks for the quick response!
@@iontach1 personally i like wrapping things indoors more :) the autodip or plastidip will work too but beware that rocks can chip partsof that layer off and then you will have to respray it all eventually
Where would you buy a bumper replacement?
In Canada you can get them from the dealerships
Great video!!! 🙌
Thanks!
Is it possible to remove the grill without removing the bumper???
Nevermind I didn't see the comment below that addressed this already. Thanks for the video
Thank you for the video! I have a question: that bracket that holds the bumper to the fender is broken, how do I find a replacement? I have looked all over various diagrams but I cant find it. Do you guys know what it is called or where I can get it? Any help will be much appreciated!!!
Im not sure to be honest but if you ask the parts desk at a dealerdhip they can almost always help you find it if its replaceable 👍🏻
Right side is 71193-TLA-A01, Left side is 71198-TLA-A01. Both are about $3 at HondaPartsNow.com
Would I need to remove the front bumper all the way to get to the fog lights? Or is there an alternative? Thanks
Im not too sure myself, but I think you can just go under the car to access the fog lights. My guess is you probably just have to remove that plasic cover under thats held by clips similar to when people do an oil change.
@@AnthonyMo when you removed the fornt bumper was there anything under besides the plastic trim? If not then I can prob jus access it by taking off the trim
David Gaun check out Nambus1 for fog lights
thaks guys nice video.
Hope it helped!
Do u have to remove the bumper to replace the grille?
Yep, there are clips holding the grille to the bumper
@@AnthonyMo thanks
Great video and thanks for posting! Do I need to take the bumper off to replace the silver chrome accent piece by the side of the center emblem all the way below the headlights? Mine broke off and I need to replace it. It’s a very flimsy plastic piece!
Sorry, not too sure about how to deal with the chome trim. Unfortunately I tried to remove it once and broke some clips so I havent played around with it since then 😅
Anthony, I was able to replace it without taking the bumper off. I did break 2 out of 3 black clips that are screwed on at the bottom of the headlights! It still work fine even with just one clip intact.
Jun San Juan these are solid vehicles, but it sure makes extra steps for customizing!
Hey great video Anthony question how easy is the grille to take off and should I remove the whole bumper to take off the grille because I wanna install a new grille thank you
The bumper and grille are pretty easy to take off! You defintely need to take the bumper off to get the grille but once its off, the grille is just held by a couple of clips that are easily visible to the eye. It really helps to have a friend help take the grille off though!
I have fog light tho is it the same removal process ??
@@imfam0use03 Hmm the bumper will be the same, but I dont have the knowledge of how to undo the fog lights. If I were to guess, Id say its just a couple extra harnesses/plugs you have to remove. Don't quote me on it though ): Sorry!

Hi nice your video , can you dome a favor can yo make a video with honda crv ex 2017 with sensor take off the front bumper thanks
Hey Daniel, although my CRV is an LX model, the Canadian version also comes with the main front sensor so I believe that the bumper removal would be very similiar with the exception of some fog light harnesses and maybe one or two collision sensor harnesses. Unfortunately, I do not have access to an EX model so I cannot make a video or check it out myself. Best of luck though
Thanks guys for showing us the right way to remove the front bumper cover. Question: Do I have to remove the whole bumper to replace the bottom half of the bumper?
Thanks in advance.
I would say that you dont HAVE to remove the whole bumper to get the lower part off. However, in my opinion (im no professional), it would be way faster just to take the whole bumper off for that process because youll be able to see where all the clips are
That’s Great video of 2017 Honda CRV front bumper Removal Tutorial. Thanks for uploading the video.
No problem! Glad it was able to help you
