Good set up, my actual gear took me almost 3 years to complete and I'm proud to get it step by step, slowly but confident listening advices like yours, GarandThumb, Lukas and Vickers. Thanks for your time Mojo.
You the man mojo, would love to see some more videos on technique and drills that worked to build specific techniques… but then again I’m just here for the violence
IIRC the VLTOR A5 isn't a heavier buffer per se but the spring & buffer themselves are rifle-length. Still love them as they help run my stuff smoothly & with less overall wear.
Mojo I just want to say, I appreciate your honesty in how little a lot of your gear actually gets used! It's great to train with it, regardless, and it's good that you don't seem to need it in your day-to-day. I hope that stays consistent!
Loathe the Velcro liner belt systems! Seen too many times they get loose during a fight & wind up around the officers armpits. Belt keepers are the way to go, they go on either side of the buckle, on either side of the weapon, to opposite side of the pistol, and 2 at the back.
Carried an inner outer system with keepers for about 6 years.. with modern belt systems there isn’t much need for them, if sized correctly the Velcro system holds just as well and is much more versatile.
Broseph , add a paint can opener to your kit! Allows you to remove jammed casings that don’t eject! Molle it to your kit with the circle end with paracord or string!! Check it out
I didn't see you mention what in-ear pro you're using there. I have Otto Noizebarrier Micro's and love them, but have always wondered if the more common inexpensive ones are "just as good" (like the various Walkers).
I would really like to see what you run on your actually “duty” patrol equipment rather than the full plate carrier. I look for new ideas on what to run on my carrier all the time, always mixing things up a little bit to find what I like best. You are running cuffs and magazines on your belt obviously so do you not run them on your soft armor carrier? Or are you guys restricted to uniform shirts and no outer carry? Very interested in seeing more guys talking about their outer carry setups.
Quick question, is there a certain lens color for shooting glasses or protective eyewear that is preferred for red dot use? If you wanted some form of sun protection, would one color of lens be better for picking up a red dot? Thanks!
I came for the gear..... stayed for the majestic mustache. Also very jealous you already have the thorax. I'm going to have to fight for one in January.
Hey, Mojo! I'm 5' 7" and wondering if in your experience the 2.26 FAST/ 2.33 KAC T1 mounts are too high for us and an 1.93 is enough for heads up shooting. I don't plan on using gas masks or NODS. Thanks, man!
For the part the doesn’t have Velcro what did you do? What pant size do you normally wear? What size belt did you go with? I feel like I’m right in between medium and large….
The A5 is one way to solve the issue, but perhaps take a look at Black River Tactical and their “EZ Tune” gas tubes. They seem pricey, but I’ve tamed/settled out multiple rifles with their baseline models. They even offer customized models for specific build applications. It’s taken what many would see as a “budget/beater” rifles that are horrifically over gassed into softer shooters that are more efficient on gas and much better shooting suppressed.
Mojo, i was trying to listen but i couldnt hear when you were talking about the pistol. Is that a G17? Or something else. The reason why iam asking is because iam thinking of building a range pistol and iam deciding between G17MOS, G45MOS and Canik Rival. Please give some advice. Thanks in advance.
Might sound weird to hear, but I miss a lot of the west side...even the weather. Just picked up the Vltor A5 system myself, looking forward to installing and doing function checks. What weight buffer did you get and did you have to have to swap around any weights for fine tuning?
Great vids and gear as always …can you tell me exactly which side plate backers and side plates from Crye you’re using? I can’t seem to find and different from their website. And these are the 6x9 side crye side plate holders you’re using correct? Many thanks, as I have the same setup with Hesco 3810’s and think the side plate you’re using is perfect for my needs as well.

Hey mojo, I’m looking for a beginner plate carrier on a budget. Which would you go with? Crye jpc 2.0 or grey ghost gear minimalist kit (minimalist plate carrier and ugf battle belt)?
Do you recommend the 3xmag over the newer commercial model? I can get the old 3xmag for $300 so, they are equal in price. Can't find much info on the 3xmag outside of promo stuff. Thanks
Have you ever lost a round carrying the MARS carrier on duty. I want to do the same but im concerned i may lose duty ammo just going about my daily activities. Thanks
A5H4 on that triarc and it still runs unsuppressed? Seems overgassed AF but maybe I’m wrong. Does it run with that buffer when it’s dirty or only when it’s clean?

I've really been struggling with getting my upper body pushed back when I shoot. I'm 6ft 2 and I swear even with my nose over my toes weight forward I get booped back every shot. Is there like a forward flinch that needs done to be able to stay so vertical and not get pushed back? Maybe I'm clenching my cheeks too much but I don't lock out my elbows and I do lock my wrists.
