Your video about trans service and the BS about “Lifetime Fluid” got me to do a full trans service on my car and film it for my RUclips channel to help other F owners. Thanks for all you share!

Alex for moddability and bullet-proof reliability I'd recommend an Audi with the supercharged 3.0L V6!!! There are tunes, pulley kits, dual pulley kits, intakes, headers, etc... available for it. The only known reliability issue with it is with age the crank pulley rubber degrades and causing the crank pulley to come apart. If you replace it ahead of time, you're golden! This was available in the S4, A5/S5, A6 and can be had in the $$$ mid-teens for a clean-sample
I just bought APR’s 2017 A4 corporate car used to introduce the B9 stage1 tune. It isn’t close to this car’s performance, but it’s still a looker and a ripper. All bolt-ons, wheels and tune were thrown at it. Supposedly good for 357 on E85 and 317 on 93… What a hoot! It lays waste to my JB4 328i…
Pretty cool to see someone else running methanol injection. I don't know why people feel the need to be inconvenienced with using e85 when 91/93 pump and 50/50 methanol/water can essentially do the same. I have 50/50 methanol/water injection on my Subaru and use cheap blue washer fluid. It makes 825 bhp at 35 psi of boost with 91 gas. I've never had it tuned for 93 gas. 93 isn't available where I live.

Old school 60's super stock guy. But I love the new technology and what's possible now. We used to make our parts and now you one click buy and install with no issues. Very cool sleeper.
Two points - the stock brake components only last about 20k miles - swap the pads to an EBC compound. 2nd point - this is a face lifted or C7.5 RS7 - it looks like it has an air tide adjustment kit on it as well to tuck the tires better.
B8.5 Audi S4. Very reliable and very under tuned from the factory. Can make much more power with mods. Quite cheap now. 4 wheel drive also so will rip the launches.
Yes the regular s7 has the dsg. Too much power for the dsg to handle. I am sure Audi realized people would mod them as well and the dsg would have been the weak point. Was a smart move by Audi overall.
The B8 S5 with the 4.2 V8 is said to be pretty reliable. The engine was derived from the B7 RS4 so doesn't have the same timing chain issues that the 4.2 from S4-s had (B6 and B7). Then again the 3.0 V6 that came later is super easily tunable but S Tronic is quite an annoying transmission to own. Those breaking are not if but when and what.
The b8 Rs5 is very reliable. It has the 4.2 FSI V8 and the fsi is important. The timing issue is fixed with upgraded guides after the plastic ones where always breaking in the old models. It also revs out to 8,250 RPM. It is a dual clutch and is a super comfy grand tourer especially with adjustable ride mode. Now if you find one at auction they’re a steal but for a little cheaper and a conventional transmission/manual option you can get a b8 s5 with the 4.2 that revs to 7k or the supercharged 3.0 which is very reliable as well
What’s a good budget performance-ish Audi? 3.0T cars for sure, you can get them pretty cheap, they respond extremely well to basic mods, and they’re pretty reliable. They’re not 800hp fast or anything but high 400’s low 500’s with boltons and E40 isn’t too shabby.
The most bulletproof Audi drivetrain is the 3.0t (supercharged not the newer turbo) and the ZF8 transmission. It come in the S4, A6, A7, SQ5. The RS7 is almost as reliable with the ZF8 but the 4.0t V8 has a few costly repairs. I think the coolest Audi to do is the b8.5 A4. The 2.0t w/ ZF8 and E85 can get crazy fast and they’re around $10k now. It’s a great budget build.
Kris Nicholson yeah! And all of them are extremely reliable even when tuned.the torque rating on each application is much higher than the stock output.
Alex, buy an Audi S8 V10 please. The D3 was the only A8 chassis to receive the heart of the bull, Lamborghini. Along with of course the S6. But I'm talking about the A8/S8 platform.
Forget barn find Dusenbergs, I dream of auction find RS7s modded like this. Will they accept a kidney as a down payment? Also, keep up the great work. Love the channel, edited well, excellent narration and walk through of cars and you just keep it interesting. Definitely buy this car, if you can.
B7 you mean. 😉 I used to own an Avant (Estate/Wagon) version years ago. Had it for about 2 years - to this day, still best car I have ever owned (same engine as the R8 of the time!). Broke my heart letting it go, but I needed a bigger estate car and the fuel costs were killing me, so was replaced with 3.0TDi A6 Avant (replaced then again with current BiTDi Avant). Big money on this side of the pond though - still regarded as one of best RS cars ever made.
I took a ride in the new 2021 RS7 after doing some work at a rich guy’s house. Those things are absolutely nasty with the electric boost motors that eliminate/close the turbo lag loop. One of THOSE built even with some minor modifications could easily hit high 2’s.
RS4s are a real hoot. The Audi version of a C63. Not sure about the later ones, but the 04-05s were prone to warp rotors. They were under braked big time.
The drive shaft centre bush keeps getting worn out in these cars due to the launches we do. Other than that they’re pretty solid. I have a stage 2 C7.5 RS6. For a 2100kg car it can pull very well
Big Audi guy. All newer Audi’s are reliable. Recently I have a b8 S4 and have had no issues. If you want something crazy fast that will make the rest of your cars look silly, get an rs3
VW guy here and dont buy one keep your Mercedes game going !!! i was in VW game for way over 20 years and when i drove my w123 420sel in next 2 mouth i sold my vw's and bought 560sec as a 2nd car and ask myself what i was waiting for . It's sad to say vw n audi going more for quantity not quality
www.vaglinks.com/vaglinks_com/docs/ssp/VWUSA.COM_SSP_990193_2009-10%20Audi%20New%20Technology.pdf The Lamborghini V10 has also had a placement in the Audi R8, RS6, S8 and S6. The 5.2 V10 used in the S6 and S8 is different in several important aspects, namely a less robust crankshaft with a split pin design, cast aluminum pistons, and a traditional wet-sump oiling system, as well as differences in the valvetrain - all of which, combined, result in the much higher RPM red line and specific power output of the Gallardo and R8
Might know this one, hopefully they know what fuel to run!! It was likely running E85 at one point but maybe owner flashed it to premium fuel before selling?
Jose Ocampo this car was definitely tuned for E85, but owner may have flashed a pump gas tune onto it to trade it in. I would want to validate that ASAP. It also has GTX3071 hybrid turbos. Any buyer should contact Silly Rabbit Motorsports to know what this car really has done to it. This is not an APR car, they flaked on this build and didn’t come through.
I am not a fan of Audi usually due to their inherent reliability issues, but I have to admit they do make some really mean looking cars. This is definitely a sharp looking car with insane performance. Definite thumbs up!

Now if you find one at auction they’re a steal but for a little cheaper and a conventional transmission/manual option you can get a b8 s5 with the 4.2 that revs to 7k or the supercharged 3.0 which is very reliable as well
Love the rs7. One of my favorite Audi’s
It's a competition between a large lawn mower and a really loud larger lawn mower.
First car on the channel, I'm actually drooling over! Been kinda an Audi fan, since I first discovered, the early 2000 s4's.
Finally an AUDI!
The look on your face said it all!😂😂😂
Alex, buy an Audi S8 V10 please. The D3 was the only A8 chassis to receive the heart of the bull, Lamborghini. Along with of course the S6. But I'm talking about the A8/S8 platform.
i'm a bmw fan, but damn this is sweet!
3.0T which is a supercharged V6, actually not too bad reliability wise.
I’d love to drive it, but I think the pops and crackles on the overrun would get old quickly.
They seem a bit overdone. Easy to take out of the tune though.
What program is he running for the service manual Anybody know?
The pops and crackles got old for me, just within the time of the video. It would drive me to get rid of the car, in short order.
@@thebobsagetguy The link is in his post above.
"things that car people that aren't actually car people say"
Forget barn find Dusenbergs, I dream of auction find RS7s modded like this. Will they accept a kidney as a down payment? Also, keep up the great work. Love the channel, edited well, excellent narration and walk through of cars and you just keep it interesting. Definitely buy this car, if you can.
RS4 B7 with 4.2 V8 is one of the best and cheap RS cars.
User996 also the B5 is a beast!
@@GarryMcGovern yes i mean b7. i don't really know audi designations that well
@@tyablo Ahh, it's easily done: you got the main details right, and that's the 4.2 V8! 😉
@@JG-ge3ui Do your homework son, that's the S4, NOT the RS4. You're welcome.
I took a ride in the new 2021 RS7 after doing some work at a rich guy’s house. Those things are absolutely nasty with the electric boost motors that eliminate/close the turbo lag loop. One of THOSE built even with some minor modifications could easily hit high 2’s.
Hi I watch you from KSA❤️
RS4s are a real hoot. The Audi version of a C63. Not sure about the later ones, but the 04-05s were prone to warp rotors. They were under braked big time.
I’ve driven that, it was my brothers! Absolutely insane!
The drive shaft centre bush keeps getting worn out in these cars due to the launches we do. Other than that they’re pretty solid. I have a stage 2 C7.5 RS6. For a 2100kg car it can pull very well
I have a C7 S6 stage 1 and have used launch control only 9 times in the 9 1/2 years I've had it to prevent damage like that.
Tearing up Glenview with the RS7. 🤫🤫🤫
Big Audi guy. All newer Audi’s are reliable. Recently I have a b8 S4 and have had no issues. If you want something crazy fast that will make the rest of your cars look silly, get an rs3
With that pops on the exhaust, it definitely does sound almost like a DSG.
The pops and crackles have nothing to do with the transmission.. That's all down to the software in the ECU.
Jon Olsson‘s new 2020 Audi RS6 with around 1000hp and 1200nm is the ultimate machine.
That looks like Alex Choi’s RS7, not sure though.
I believe you are already sitting in your next car. Seems natural so go with it. My last 3 cars have been VWs and Audis. LOVE them to death.
17:50 - Hey, I have an uncle named Crack Poppaltoon!
Please Alex do a 335d single turbo BMW build, show the world the diesel power of the M57 engine.
Looks like it has SRM intake and SRM wastegates. I’d reach out to them since they probably tuned it too. Great car btw!
Good eye pal - wonder if it has the throttle bodies
I live at Lake and Milwaukee be careful when you’re going through the woods there sometimes there’s a County cop on the right side before the river
ALL RS models are amazing.
In the Audi world? The Lambo sourced V10
www.vaglinks.com/vaglinks_com/docs/ssp/VWUSA.COM_SSP_990193_2009-10%20Audi%20New%20Technology.pdf
The Lamborghini V10 has also had a placement in the Audi R8, RS6, S8 and S6.
Machine Against The Rage but this is rs7 not rs6 as your comment says. rs7 has nothing with lambo
Jesus Christ.... I was answering his question of “which used Audi should I buy next”. So I said “any with a V10”. SMH
Might know this one, hopefully they know what fuel to run!! It was likely running E85 at one point but maybe owner flashed it to premium fuel before selling?
Definitely verify this
Jose Ocampo this car was definitely tuned for E85, but owner may have flashed a pump gas tune onto it to trade it in. I would want to validate that ASAP. It also has GTX3071 hybrid turbos. Any buyer should contact Silly Rabbit Motorsports to know what this car really has done to it. This is not an APR car, they flaked on this build and didn’t come through.
The owner was excited to spend $30,000 in mods, then he realized that's the typical service bill for maintaining a German luxury and performance car.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yup the service bill on German cars is no joke. I leaned the hard way😂
Nope he moved back to the U.K.
Awesome vid. Lovin these test drives!
Would love to see you get a S5 with a 6spd manual or a S8 with the V10.
Todd Lancaster I love my S8 with the V10. Short of the RS6 Avant it’s my dream ride.
I am not a fan of Audi usually due to their inherent reliability issues, but I have to admit they do make some really mean looking cars. This is definitely a sharp looking car with insane performance. Definite thumbs up!
I See you don't use launch control. You'll be at 2,86 sec. if you engage launch control bud ;)
Exactly, my S8 stage 2, 670hp is quicker than his 0-60
C Smith Cap
Of topic a bit here. I notice that the video quality is constantly improving. It’s amazing how sharp and detailed the whole screen is. What camera you using?
Thanks Marek. You wouldn't believe it but I stopped using my canon 70d, 80d and m50 and its now all filmed on my Samsung galaxy s10 plus. I use different mics but that's it
