How absolutely marvellous, and what a pretty little cat. You were infinitely patient with him and let him take it at his own pace, and look at the result. Lovely video.
Jeeves is a beautiful kitty! Unless you have some allergy, I hope the gloves have come off by now. I'll look forward to any updates. I have two feral cats outside who are very attached to me. It's a great feeling, isn't it?!
I'm so glad you saved him from a short life on the streets! ❤❤❤ It does appear he as been around humans prior to you catching him, a feral cat with no experience with humans will not lean into being touched right away. And it's wise to remove the gloves once the risk of being bit or transmitting disease/parasites is gone so he can get used to the scent on your hands and the difference in texture.
This cat is definitely not feral or hasn’t been that way long. She’s been pet before. Ferals don’t come around this fast and last their only a few weeks old.
I've been feeding two feral kittens for several months and I have just been able to pet the male because he is less cautious than the female. The mother has separated herself from them so they just hang out in my backyard.
Definitely not. I've got a feral cat under my cell phone who I've seen twice in one month. Comes out to eat and you use litter box when no one's around. Meows all night long
The little guy is attracted to you for the same reason we are: You are kind and patient (and allow _us_ to approach _you._ :-) Are you familiar with the content of _KittenLady_ ? She and you would have so much to talk about. She suggests the use of a metal backscratcher, because it simulates the action of the mother cat´s tongue. I presume you are the (only) one filming. Congratulations for making it necessary for me to ask. Also, the choice of music is perfect -- just like you and this labor of love, it is not too fast or too slow, and lighthearted without being maudlin. _Thumb´s up!_
@@TheSienna29 She is using blue medical gloves (in addition to the other ones), that’s why the OP said the video looks like a science experiment, they are not to protect from bites. He is definitely feral? Look up what a feral cat is, they are not used to humans, run away and won’t let you touch them.
I don't know about that. I started feeding 3 feral sisters. I guess they were 4-5 months old when they showed up. Only one survived and uses my home as her base of operations. She's 2.5 years old now. She will greet me if she's around when I'm outside. She does that slow eyeblink thing and is very relaxed around me. I can come up to her with my hand within an inch with a treat, but she will not permit any touch.
That was fast! He didn't seem truly feral - maybe someone was feeding him outside. And at the risk of being a fussbudget, pet in a noun, PAT is a verb. It's patting, he wants to be patted. Now he Is a Pet, who loves to be patted. The lap is the best spot for pets who want to be patted. That's an amazing transformation - some cats who have always lived with people will never be lap cats!
I have two spicy 11 week old kittens and go them to eating on my lap, looking to do the next stage. Do you recommend them being put inside a blanket and getting cuddles as they don't want to be picked up yet?
Good story, but definitely not feral. This kitten has been pet before. I have 2 foster feral that are at least a month younger than this and we aren't at this stage after a month. I know that's not every cat.... but you can tell this one has been pet before and knows the feeling. Good job all the same with this wild guy
Feral means born in the wild. Kittens can be tamed if caught between 4 and 8 weeks. Takes longer if kittens are older but can be done. I have a beach feral that has become a member of our family. Now 8 yrs. Old he comes in and is very much at home with being inside. Still wants to run and hide outside if it thunders. I believe any age can be tamed to a degree with patience and love and time.
Part of it is that she isn’t overwhelming the kitten to the point of flight, also many feral cats just kind of shut down completely rather than act out. This kitten may or may not have had human contact but it wasn’t necessarily someone’s pet. There are many variables that could be at play here.
But didn’t he has fleas or worms ?… I been feeding for months and I feel sorry for it sleeping in the cold but I am afraid to bring her in with out a flea treatment but she’s too scare to let me trap her any advise ?….
Not all street cats are feral. He was clearly never feral. It was unnecessary to leave him alone in a room and stressed for so long. He would have succumbed to petting from the first day if he had been held and stroked for 30 minutes. Depriving him of touch and love for so long is a form of animal cruelty. Nevertheless thank you for at least taking him off the streets.
It's not surprising that the kitten adapted so quickly; you let it make most of the decisions, you have a soft, calming voice, and great patience.
Tasty treats, friendly skritches, and warm laps 🥰
That blue surgical gloves got me trippin>

Thank you for your love, God bless you ❤
You are his surrogate mom. You are doing what mama kitties do. God bless you ❤❤❤❤
We need many more wonderful people like this lady. 👍
@5:00 in I loved the transformational turning point when he finally starts to trust you.
He’s gorgeous💫🐾
Soooo heartwarming 😭 so cute im so glad you were so patient

This love between the two of you is so delightful and helped me learn to tame my little feral kitty
Your narration and soothing music was asmr wor5hy, I thoroughly enjoyed the video, im happy the kitty had such a gentle person. Tyvm.

Thank you!!! Sweet kitty. ❤❤❤
what a lovely and inspiring video! Very useful too - I'm currently taming a sweet but shy young cat myself

what a beautiful baby!
Such a good kitty!!
No amateur here. Bless you. I took in two newly trapped kittens two nights ago. I need tips!!! 😞🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽💕💕💕
I would like to know more about the timeline in this video.
Same here! How many weeks?
This reminds me of the video titled 'tiny angry cat at vet clinic'! I had never seen a kitten so ticked off before.
Wonderful story 👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for all the tips. Great video!
Beautiful. But IMO not a feral cat.
Definitely not.

This is a quality cat.

Beautiful !
Awww he so beautiful ❤
I don't believe that you need those gloves...is just a scared kitten.. with food and patience is enough ❤

good job.
I feel the whole "taming" process looks more like an experiment because of the perpetual presence of the gloves.
Feral kittens bite.
@@TheSienna29He is clearly not feral, feral cats are scared of people and run. Plus medical gloves don’t protect from bites, they are very thin.
@@abc33155 He's definetely feral. And your glove comment has nothing to do with what I said. Take care.

I've never had to tame a wild animal. They just know who they can trust when you have patience and just let them come to you ❤😊

You glove up for all your kitties? lmao
He looks like a Sebastian.
After he became friendly why are you still wearing the gloves for?
It could be allergies or she just doesn't trust the cat
Very good at that very very good

slow process but it must be so rewarding later when your playing and petting the little one while they purr

What happened to the rest of the kittens?
please someone tell me what is that cat color type? its not tabby , then what is it?
How old was he?
I noticed when you went to pet the cat your skin looked kinda leathery , probably sun damage ,, some CeraVe lotion should take care of that. 4:11

why pet with stupid gloves when he is not showing any kind of agression.
Take off that glove...HES NOT A BEAR?
